Beet Salad
Thomas P.

Once again, excellent food was paired with superior service at our dockside table. Complimentary champagne started our anniversary dinner, a lovely gesture. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her half dozen oysters and I had a nice beet salad. She then enjoyed the bluefin tuna entree with sushi rice and jicama cabbage slaw. I had the excellent scallops with corn over a tasty cream sauce.

Prefacing this review that I went in December (off season) but it was SO good! For appetizers we got a bunch of the fresh seafood - shout out to the crab cups! For my meal I got the Cobb salad (never usually order a salad but it sounded so good) with added blackened shrimp and it did not disappoint. The dirty martini was perfect, and the server was really good. The ambiance is great - right on the water with big windows all around. Highly recommend if you're in the area!

The Layla with Ginger Beer instead of Lemonade --- very refreshing mocktail option
Maritza M.

Came here on their dock and dine option and I must say -- very fancy yet chill at the same time! Doggies are allowed on the outside deck areas, combined with a beautiful view of the bay and plenty of room at the large bar area, I can see how this place is a crowd pleaser. For food, I opted for the beet salad with a side of chicken. It was a nice size portion for the price and my mocktail, The Layla, was delightful and refreshing. I would highly recommend going with the ginger beer rather than the lemonade so as not to be too sweet. The service was decent, although they did forget the calamari I ordered at first, but with a little reminder, it came out very quickly. They were also very quick and attentive to accommodate the dogs we had with some water, so that was very nice on their part. For the calamari, I've never had battered/lightly crispy olives and that was definitely a nice surprise, highly recommend that as an appetizer. Looking forward to coming here again, especially since before I left they were setting up for live music, so that's definitely a plus!

Came here for HH after a beach day and sat at the outside bar. Great view and vibes. The bartender could have been a little friendlier/helpful, but everything else was good! We ordered exclusively off the happy hour menu and all the food was fantastic. We had the wings, mussels, Kani salad, and the tuna tacos. The HH cocktails were also great! We will definitely be back for happy hour!

The outdoor ambiance and the atmosphere is amazing and the drinks very good. I love the pier they built. The food is ok quality and should be better for the prices they charge but 100/100 for the views. Service is very good

Chicken sandwich. Delicious.

Came across their IG page and added it to places I want to try. So Sunday after church we took a drive and decided to give it a try. I'm a little more adventurous than my husband so I didn't know what to expect but wow! As we were walking in someone walking out said if you don't have reservations they won't seat you outside but we went in anyway and they were super friendly and said you can sit in the bar area anywhere you can find a table. In my opinion the bar area was so much nicer anyway. We were right on the water and the views of the ocean and the boats going by were spectacular. They had live acoustic music giving it a vacation vibe. My husband is a picky eater no seafood but the dishes coming out looked amazing. We ordered the chicken sandwiches and they were delicious even the French fries cooked perfectly. The only thing I would say is I wish they had more land lover options. Our server was great too. So happy we decided to try a new place. Will definitely be back.

One of the best meals I have had in a long time. Would highly recommend the seafood towers as well as the pork chop. The Chef is amazing!

Though I may prefer their previous location in Northvale which was very cozy, I was happy to see…read moreRoots finally reopened in an inviting space with an art space, plants, books, and a stage area. Though not huge, their menu is plant based with an assortment of brunch/lunch items like bowls, salads and interesting sushi, as well as smoothies and other drinks. If you're open to vegan food and uncommon items in a western diet, you'll enjoy it. The pad thai slaw and sushirito were delicious and well made and everything on the menu was inviting. The teas were lovely and I really enjoyed being able to select a blend of herbs for my tea mug. There was some herbal water available, and a selection of desserts on the counter and in the fridge - chocolatey delights like "snickers" bars. We found a corner next to the stage with two armchairs and a coffee table which was the coziest corner to sit and chat. Though it was Friday afternoon at lunch time and there were several other small groups, it never felt crowded and we were able to stay for a few hours enjoying our tea and meal. Staff were very friendly and accommodating, and non-intrusive. You order at the counter and then sit down, and we were not disturbed at all besides our meal being brought to us when it was ready. Parking is limited but at least they have a lot. It's a short walk into the main part of the town. They also occasionally host events. Looking forward to returning!

Everything is vegan--I love it because for me it's less to worry about. Ambiance is comfortable, very similar to how they setup the dining room in their old location--which was earthy and homey. This location has an addition of an art room! For art days--appeared to be an area where adults and children can create art. I didn't venture in. Animals are welcome, some patrons had their dogs. Service was great. The cashier charged us for something we did not order and promptly sent a refund. They didn't have the salads and burritos from the previous menu but the owner told me that the menu items will eventually return. Will definitely come back!

It feels like you're entering a library. It is really beautiful and chic. The staff were friendly and I ordered the Tibetan Mama ($15.93) Coconut Curry and it was delicious. It was so flavorful and fresh. Genuinely my only complaint is that they didn't give me more. I also ordered a lemonade (~$4) that had a nice sweetness to it, but didn't taste too artificial. It was a great addition to the hearty curry.

I say from Le Botaniste rather…read morethan at Le Botaniste, because - even though the cafe is beautiful and huge (I saw a sign pointing to more seating in another room) - it was a gorgeous day and I took my lunch across the street to enjoy in Bryant Park. And that's really one of the best things about this location of Le Botaniste (there around 7 locations in the city) - being right across from Bryant Park, you can enjoy a healthy lunch while enjoying the park! So what is Le Botaniste? It's an organic, plant-based, and carbon-neutral cafe with locations in NYC and a couple in Europe. So everything is vegan. Everything is organic. The calories and other dietary information are listed on the menu. I had their Chef Priyanka Samosa Bowl (a seasonal offering), which includes brown rice, saag, samosa balls, crispy chickpeas, turmeric onions, tamarind and green chutneys, and yogurt raita. It is 433 calories and 12 grams of protein. I thought it was good - although I thought the samosa balls were quite dry (the chutneys, saag, and raita helped), and I liked that it was light and healthy and wouldn't slow me down for the rest of my busy day. I also grabbed a water and a quinoa peanut butter cookie that I saved in my bag for later. (I noticed that they had some wines that I would have been happy to try - if you eat in, you can have a full experience with a drink.) I showed up right at 11 when they opened, and there was only one other customer. My bowl was ready in seconds and I was out the door and across the street seated in Bryant Park within a minute or two. If you're looking for a healthy vegan lunch in the neighborhood, Le Botaniste is a good option!

Everything on the menu is vegan, but my family truly could not taste any difference when we visited. We ordered the Oreo protein pancakes, blueberry pancakes, penne with vodka sauce, and a breakfast burrito. Since I turned vegan, I've been craving pancakes so the food really hit the spot. The pancakes were so fluffy and tasted incredible. The penne was also so flavorful and was maybe our favorite dish. The breakfast burrito was also filling and tasted great. Overall, I'm very impressed with the quality of food and would come here regularly if I lived in the area. Additionally, the prices were super reasonable and are definitely more affordable than the average restaurant in the area. Chelsea was our waitress and I want to give her a special shoutout because she was particularly helpful and friendly to us. She did an excellent job answering our questions and even was willing to share general tips on vegan cooking. She really went out of her way to help me out after I mentioned that I recently turned vegan.

Areas of opportunity to note although these would not stop me from recommending this place. 1) the coat check for the whole upstairs was located in the private room. So every time someone needed a coat, the staff would walk through our party to go get the coats. 2) there was a huge crack in the glass table which was very noticeable since the table had a design on it so when the light came through the crack was very noticeable. Summation: This is the perfect place for a party in a private room. Everyone was beyond friendly, service was top notch and the room was beautiful.
