I helped her to research where would be the best place to take her SUV to be checked. 19th Avenue Garage kept coming up on here and on Google. Needless to say, these gentlemen are wonderful! So very kind and understanding as they knew she was going through a difficult time. They did a thorough check of her car. She had previously been told she had a transmission leak. These gentlemen did not find it. The "Check Engine" light, fortunately, was related to her tires. The batteries were old. There was some seepage from the brakes, but it was minimal. As for the brakes, they were still in good shape, but will eventually need attention. When she asked how much she owed them for their time, they told us "Zero". No charge! They understood she was going through a difficult time with her husband being in the hospital these past two months and assured her that her vehicle was safe to drive. They did invite her to return in six months for her next oil change and they would check her brakes again. Needless to say, I am so impressed with the kindness these gentlemen showed my neighbor, and that they could have charged her for their time as they did a thorough check of her SUV, but they did not. I brought my 4Runner in for a pretty extensive amount…read moreof work, including a complete front suspension overhaul, valve cover gasket replacement, and several other maintenance items, and the entire experience was excellent. What really separates this shop from others is their honesty, attention to detail, and quality of work. When they replaced my valve cover gaskets, they went out of their way to clean up the intake and valve covers to near-pristine condition--and I never even asked them to. That kind of attention tells you a lot about how they treat the vehicles they work on. Ryan and Veronica were both fantastic throughout the entire process. Communication was straightforward, the pricing was extremely fair for the amount of work being done, and I never felt like they were trying to sell me something I didn't need. They genuinely seem to care about doing the job correctly and taking care of their customers. Finding a mechanic you can actually trust is difficult, especially when you're having major work done. Japanese Auto Pros has absolutely earned my trust. If you own a Toyota, Lexus, Honda, Acura, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, or another Japanese vehicle, this should be one of the first shops you call. They keep texting me for my opinion so here it is: these people are scammers from my perspective. Not so strange until that's exactly what needed to be fixed on my car for thousands of dollars....... a car that's having directionality issues. I'm no mechanic, but I wasn't born yesterday and can type things into google. They claimed that the housings for my strut and shock assemblies were cracked and needed replacing. That's a very specific claim. Anyways I took it to National Automotive down the road and actually got taken care of. It was the sway link bar. No issues with the housing of the strut or shock assemblies. The car drives like a dream now, no thanks to Japanese Auto Pros. Saved a few thousand dollars by not taking their word at face value. The funny thing is I might have trusted them if they treated me with more respect. One of their workers (presumably a manager) told me they don't have time to call my warranty company for me and started playing the world's smallest violin for completely avoidable staffing issues. So as the customer I had to deal with that all myself (whatever, but it's not standard). Long story short, y'all are weird. Also, lose my number and stop spam texting me please.

I showed up and had to park in the convenience store parking lot next door, because it looked like a pretty tight lot. They said that was no problem. I sat and looked at my phnoe for a little bit until the battery almost died (it was alrfeady low when I got there). They had charging cords on the coffee table with adapters for every phone. I plugged my phone in and sat it on the table and got comfortable for a longer wait, but moments later, true to the 1.5 hour estimate, they said my truck was ready. They advised me of some sort of leak on the front axle, but told me to check with the dealership because it might be under warranty. I appreciate that. I'll definitely be back for future service.
