This place has EVERYTHING you need to set your home up from furniture to rugs, linens, bedding,…read morecurtains, blankets etc. Make sure you visit the basement which is a full-on furniture showroom. I hit every furniture store along Central Avenue and Belmont Avenue and this place was the best for prices and selection and it's also large and clean. Don't fear - most of the styles on the floor are very "Euro-esque" which caters to the clientele in the neighborhood. I witnessed a European lady buying couches in brown leather with chrome legs and tassels and financing it too. But they also have less aggressive traditional American styles. Just ask for Ali or Besam. If they don't have it in stock they will get from their warehouse in Elgin. I was looking for a very specific piece. My room is small and there is no room for bedside tables so I wanted a headboard/hutch with cubby holes to hold a water glass or clock radio. I use a futon with a wooden frame as a bed and I wanted a hutch to match. Ali and Besam found EXACTLY what I had in mind and it was only $80 so I was very happy. My hutch is sturdy, solid wood and made in Malaysia. It is nice to have a small locally-owned business in the neighborhood with excellent prices!

In order to revive this neighborhood and to boost the business activities, free community parking lot is available on Central. If you feel like paying unnecessary money, I guess you can also utilize paid street parking along Belmont. Hubby and I took advantage of the nice weather to walk down there and check it out what this store was about. Think about "Cook Brothers Warehouse," "Forman Mills," and those major discount retailers (TJ Maxx, Ross Dress for Less, and Marshall's). "Save & Tell Outlet" is like a combination of these three, with the entire downstairs basement featuring all furniture. Since we were on the lookout for a bed frame, we took a peek and found some possibilities. S&T is having a grand-opening special during the month of March on most of their furniture, saving up to $400 on some of the pieces. S&T carries overstock or liquidation from Macy's. The old Macy's tags were still present on their clothing items. I saw some young girls picking out bras and panties. I wasn't that curious, yet hubby was and went straight to the section. He then reported back to me that four (4) bras were on sale for $17. You do the math, and I would say that deal was pretty good! I also saw name-brand perfumes, kitchenware, curtains, shoes, and blankets. Overall, it's a decent store for the convenience of neighborhood residents.

I appreciated him saying thank you when I should be thanking him. As I shopped on the sales floor I was greeted by Barbara B. and asked if she could help me. If not for her, I would not be able to find the Christmas tablecloths. It was nice to be greeted and offered help at a time when everyone is so stressed out with shopping. I appreciated her kindness and customer service. My final encounter was when I was checking out. Patricija couldn't be any nicer or sweeter. She wrapped my breakables and wished me a nice day. I did miss seeing Isabel, it was her day off. Her service is always outstanding and she brings such a positive aura to the store. Good job on your hires Marshalls!

Assuming that the-end-of-season sale has concluded in most retailers, so the Spring items have been introduced but hasn't merchandized in full-bloom. I didn't see many selections of women's ready-to-wear, junior clothing, and women's accessories. Nevertheless, they had an above-average handbag selections on Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and Steve Madden. I'm a recovered handbag-holic, so I tried my best to refrain from purchasing another handbag. There were many clearance cosmetics, face and body care products. Marshall's and T.J. Maxx are where I replenish my facial cleansers because they are so much cheaper than buying at a department store, as long as they are not expired by any means. Anyways, this Marshall's is located as part of the Brickyard shopping plaza. There's a plenty of parking, or it is accessible by the CTA 86 (Narragansett) bus. Remember to get off one (1) stop before Fullerton.

Yes, a new location doesn't mean much to the public because it's the same old hot mass as you would expect from any Ross store out there. Nevertheless, it's a fun store to poke around. I had a gift card given to me by my in-laws last Christmas. Since hubby and I were nearby, we stopped in. I found a few cool things from the Betsey Johnson home collection. I upgraded our bedsheets and got myself a BJ hot pick skull throw. On a Tuesday evening after the Columbus Day, the store was relatively quiet. I do frequently purchase these following items from a national chain discount store: - "Skull Candy" earphones - Licensed merchandise (i.e. Tweety, Hello Kitty, Betty Boop, NFL, MLB, NCAA sports teams that I can't find at a locally-owned knickknack store) - canvas art I can't live without - travel neck pillows/ pillows in general - IMPULSE BUYS Ross is Ross. Their checkout process is always chaotic. Although they have, so-called "return policy," it's not worth your time if you're returning an item, or items, less than $20. In other words, purchase something that you certainly will like and keep.

I was told by the original location that It doesn't have a tag so they provided me with a gift receipt if I needed to return it. I walked up to the cashier with the original receipt and gift receipt. She looked at me and back at receipt. she walked over to the manager and spoke to her, they both turn to look at me. The cashier came back and told me no, that I have to take it to the location where I bought it. I felt discriminated against. Not a good feeling. Never gone thru this at any other Ross location. Simply sad. If manager condone it, what's stopping the other employees. I felt it the minute the cashier looked at me. So I knew what was coming from the manager.

Watching the construction I think everyone had high expectations especially w/the ginormous 2 story glass facade w/a giant red Target Logo right on the corner. Well needless to say this Target didn't live up to its expectations w/the location (replacing an iconic store) & the huge corner advertising the new tenants When I went I like many others I thought that this Target was going to be a huge 2 story superstore especially w/the iconic location & the prominent Target sign on the corner. Much to my surprise it's a small format store not a mega store. This store has a parking lot on the north end under the building to the north. It's very clean & nicely stocked but very limited in size & options. To say it was anticlimactic is an understatement. There is a huge housing of apartments that are above and around the Target named "6 Corners Lofts. All in all it's a nice add since we needed another Target (NOT). Well I guess they had to put something there & it's better than an empty lot.
