During many of my visits I typically purchase items such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, tissue, mailing envelopes and the list goes on....... I figure why go elsewhere when you can just go to a Dollar Tree. I have even purchased snack and food items like cereal and milk, and guess what? All were just a dollar!. Anyway! I made my initial visit during the grand opening on a Saturday morning, and best believe it was crowded. There were four registers open, yet it took forever to get through that line, but I expected that because it was the grand opening. I walked into a squeaky clean store with a brand new smell to it with freshly new items stocked, but I'm sure that it will not last as the months go on. This Dollar Tree is in place where there used to be a CVS Pharmacy present, which only lasted a year! Yes, a year! Makes me wonder about the possibility of this Dollar Tree not lasting in the neighborhood, which makes me want to enjoy it while its here. It sits in an area where many questionable individuals walk the streets, so be aware of your surroundings upon entering and leaving. It is also one of the impoverished sides of town, too. But I'm sure you are aware of that by now if you are visiting. The funny thing about neighborhoods that are dominantly African American is that select individuals get stereotyped as thieves due to how they present themselves in the store, which I overheard hilarious conversations while going through the line about certain shoppers. My theory is, if you let them get away most likely they will return for more things which could possibly lead to them being caught. Pretty obvious with that customer that always visits, yet purchases nothing. If they honestly cannot afford anything that costs only a dollar then it just shows that they truly have nothing. If you've ever watched A&E's Hoarders that is what this place is... it is a dumpster of of closed unknown merchandise, you have to get a worker to see what's in every box, that's a task in itself. On top of that the bigger furniture pieces like consoles, lawnmowers, lawn furniture... the owner is charging more than it would be at a Marshall's or TJ Maxx... $300 for a lawnmower, $350 for a console (just check out FB Marketplace). Why they aren't opening the boxes as they come in and categorizing which table they'd belong is beyond my understanding. I also don't understand why there isn't prices on the furniture, seems as if they are haggling, giving different prices to different ppl. Needless to say I won't be back. Don't make the hike to check this place out I'm sure you'll pass better stores.

However, this last trip (Friday) I was met with unfriendly staff, having to monitor that my items I waited 40mins for that were behind the counter weren't put back on the shelves while I shopped this happened 3times. I am a strong believer in customer service and I didn't receive that on my Friday trip to this location. After mentioning that I was frustrated with how things were going ANOTHER staff member was taking my pulled items now from the register back to the shelf. I definitely think there are improvements to be made when it comes to holds and customer relations.

Ken helped us pick everything and was very nice. Recently, we visited their new space to pick up a Bosu ball; it's probably been over a year since our last visit, but Ken remembered us. I also got a new cart (16.90) on sale it is normally(18.90) cheaper than Amazon so I was happy to find a new cart that was inexpensive but seems to be sturdy. They did have another cart there for (69.90) and I hope that one goes on sale because it was the Cadillac of carts and it was definitely sturdy. This is something I can't wait to get soon especially if I can find it on sale. They had a lot of name brand items for a very good price. The staff was great and the variety of items made me a fan. It's late August and they already had Halloween items out. Some of their back wall items weren't in stock as some of those shelves were bare. They also have laundry items locked up and so you have to see an associate to get access to those items. Cashiers are up front. Don't expect the most talkative bunch. The place is a bit dingy and a bit dodgy but bright nonetheless.

The line was moving rather swiftly. If you are paying with a credit card, ensure to have a valid government-issued photo ID ready. Any retailer cannot take the hit with contested charges and suffer from much shrink due to operational errors. It is what it is, ladies and gentlemen. You will see some random soda spills on the ground and unfinished coffee cups lying on the shelves. Workers are gonna concentrate on busting shipments, and managers are gonna call police several times a week to keep the store in check. I personally can stand shopping at Forman Mills, as long as I know what to expect. There's additional parking at the lot on the corner of Lamon and Le Moyne.
