Daiso is always a wholesome, cute experience full of your standard, favorite Japanese dollar store goods. It reminds me of miscellaneous stationary stores we used to frequent in East Asia. This location has a pretty great selection of items for kids, especially plushies. When we went, there was an entire wall of animals to distract our toddler during shopping, not to mention an entire separate aisle for toys. I personally wouldn't buy snacks here since there's an H Mart right next door, but there seems to be some pretty good deals on home goods, stationary, and other little tchochkes should you be partial to them. In terms of home goods, there was a deal on scented aroma oil for stick diffusers that was pretty decent at the time. I was honestly impressed at how items didn't look like they would be that affordable, meaning they looked a lot nicer than the price they cost. Always a win! (Not sure about longevity, though I do have a pencil pouch from Daiso that has stood the test of time with limited wear). I would definitely recommend this spot for teachers looking for cute stamps or stickers for grading. You could also use this as a go-to spot for niche decorating during holidays. They often have collaborations with companies like Sanrio. There's a self-checkout station (I believe with two counters) and a regular register at the front. Many reviewers mentioned that Daiso is located across from H-Mart, for me, I found it just a couple stores away from 85°C Bakery Café. I love stores like Daiso, a very well-organized Japanese dollar stores that sells a great variety of merchandise, and many of them are fun and cute. You can find home goods, organizational items, toys, stationery, snacks...both practical items and things that you don't really need. It is a pretty large store that I could spend hours happily browsing. The cashier right by the front door was very friendly and welcoming, her greeting me with a big smile really created a great first impression. I was shopping for a pair of slippers for my husband, and I was happy to find a section with a large selection of those. Since they have an "all sales final, no refunds and no exchanges" policy, I will either bring my husband or come back to have a better look when I can spend more time choosing. New Daiso store across from H-Mart and next to Tsaocaa--you could have quite an enjoyable afternoon just hopping between the stores. The new store is large and well organized, with gift items, housewares, stationery, cleaning, snacks, candy and more. They had a large section of organizational supplies -- I was just at The Container Store and spent a lot more for similar types of items. Most everything is $1.75 unless marked. They even have a few self checkout stations. The only thing I couldn't find was the dried lemons I bought at the Daiso in Willowbrook. :( But I found everything else and more! read more

Huge store with lots of things at $1.75 which has Hello Tokyo lowering their cost nearby in Niles. Must stop when you are visiting Chicago area. We came here at grand opening and luckily scored the goodie bags around noon. Tote bag is nice size and heavy duty. Also shocked to find a plushie bunny in the goodie bags so something for kids too. Cell phone cord protector looks useful to try out and chopsticks are nice touch too. Hello kitty zipper bags and drink are also cool to try out. It's like a Japanese style Five Below. There are lots of interesting snacks, drinks, stationary, beauty stuff and home goods. If you've been to Hema or Flying Tiger in Europe, it's kind of a cross between them. Lots of cute character stuff (hello kitty) mixed in with practical things like lunch meat slicers. Everything is pretty cheap and it's not lifetime quality. Staff is really nice and the store is bright and well organized. Definitely fun to check out! read more

So fun! I was really excited to browse a Daiso in the US finally, it brought back memories of my trip to Japan. There's a lot of household goods, stationary items, snacks and more. Everything is so cute and extremely inexpensive. Nearly everything I picked up was only $1.75, and a step up in quality from dollar stores. I definitely didn't NEED everything I bought, but the price was justified since cute things make me happy. Plus, I don't know when I'll be back in Niles soooo.... If you or someone you know is a fan of Sanrio or Disney, there's a lot of items featuring popular characters. I saw a whole set of adorable cooking utensils with cat paws on them but I definitely don't have room for more. I was really excited to see Shin Chan items, but they weren't anything I needed right now- keychains, bags, etc. I did grab several packs of stickers and some decorations for Sakura season. They snacks and foods are an ok selection. Nothing special that can't be purchased at markets nearby. This location was perfectly located next to H-Mart so there's a large shared parking lot and easy access on and off of the main road. read more

Daiso is a fun new Japanese dollar store to putz around in.  The base item price here is currently $1.75, but goods can go anywhere from that price up to $15.25 according to their sign.  Our grand-darlings could spend hours in here putzin' around too.  It's that kind of store and they also have a pretty big footprint.  This store is located in the strip mall housing the Super H Mart and Home Depot so it's a great, convenient location too.  Welcome to Niles! read more

I thought this place was going to be another Hello Tokyo, however it's different in that it's really more like a dollar store with home goods. There are still stickers, toys, etc but it's not the majority of the store. In order to figure out the price of an item you have do a conversion to take it from the JPY to USD. There's lots of signs posted so it's easy enough. If there are no prices, then the costs drops to only $1.75. If you're looking for an inexpensive home goods then this is a great option. I ended buying some bookends, which appear to be working great and simple enough to purchase. There is one in person cashier and two self serve kiosks. Doesn't appear to be any point card programs (at least not yet). Parking is pretty easy, but may there may be a lot of H-Mart traffic depending upon the time you go there. read more

I was so excited to see that Daiso is in Niles and they just moved to this location and opened 3/8/25. I love this place! It's like a dollar store with fun items. You can find all kinds of things you might want to need and don't need but want and figure out a way to use even if you won't need it. They have cute kitty stuff everywhere which I love and things that are creative and not necessarily needed but nice to have. Japanese culture has so much cuteness and detail oriented mindsets that add to life. I love the cat paw baking or ice mold! So cute. No bathroom but free parking in a huge mall next to super HMart. Everything is mostly about $1.75 to $5.00 on average. No refunds and no exchange. So buy wisely. read more

It's so funny when a child is flabbergasted by a situation. We went to a Home Depot which was in the same strip mall and found this store. I went to another one of these stores in Northern California but didn't have a little girl yet so I didn't realize the magic. It was an amazing experience for my daughter. We will be going back ASAP. We came on opening day so it was super crowded! We did not get the free bag because they only gave it to the first 100 customers. Overall, the value was good. Some were good quality and others seem cheap, but it is much cheaper than going to Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights. I love the friendly staff as well. Overall, I would go back! read more
