A GOOD DEAL MORE…read more Though it might be messy (and slow), this Marshall's has some nifty stuff at a great value. I came here looking for an appropriate Mother's Day gift this past weekend and luckily was able to find a few solid items in their homegoods section. A ceramic butter tray, personalized wine stopper, and a series of small dishes meant I wouldn't have to make multiple stops (success!) The clothing aisles were in a moderate state of disarray, while the shelves of assorted kitchen knickknacks weren't much better. However, where this store falters in cleanliness, they make up for in selection. Nichole C found an awesome purse at a bargain price (she actually found *3*, but only bought one, thank christ). Checkout was tedious; there were only two registers open on a Saturday evening and the employees weren't exactly moving at lightspeed. This added up to a long wait in line, with some customers impatiently tapping their feet, others a mixture of annoyed sighs and assorted eye-rolling. There's a few shady businesses in the Winston Plaza shopping area but this Marshall's isn't the worst of the bunch......that dubious honor goes to the ghetto-tastic Dollar Tree and their "steak-shaped meat conglomerates". Stop in and take a look, you might find a gem or two on the shelves. Just don't make a habit out of coming here.

This strip mall is definitely lacking. All chain stores and no local businesses. Bad suburban wear…read morelike Chico's, The Loft and Tilly's. The Whole Foods is the smallest Whole Foods in Illinois, so be prepared not to find many of items that you may find at other WF's locations. Why they didn't expand when Coconuts left the space next door, I don't know. I'm told it's due to lack of revenue. In RFOP I doubt that's the case, but maybe if they expanded and were able to keep good inventory in stock they would have better revenue. Then there's the the River Forest Town Center's abominable parking. I myself avoid going until I absolutely have to because I don't want to deal with that parking lot. I have not only witnessed many fender benders here, but I myself was hit by a woman with small children in a minivan who decided she didn't need to stop when driving down an aisle & approaching the main drive in front of the Whole Foods. THAT section of the town center is the absolute worst. Prepare for aggravation should you be going to Walgreens, Petco, Whole Foods, or Ulta in the East lot, OR if you're going to Panera in the West lot. The parkers here are just down right jerks. They ignore the stop signs, they take two or more parking spaces, and the best is when they pull up to the curb and throw on the hazards in front of the Starbucks which is located right at the exit feed to Harlem. Really, you can't be bothered to park 15 feet away in an actual space to get your macchiato? Then there's those "no left turn" entrances into the town center: one on Harlem, two on Lake street. Of course I see many disobeying those signs and turning left into those entrances. The best is those waiting turning left at the "no left turn" entrance on Harlem North bound. They're not only crossing a double yellow, but they're holding up all North bound traffic, especially those trying to turn left at an intersection that's already a cf. Just brilliant, people! Another personal favorite was me sitting with my turn signal on for a space near WF's while a car exited a space. A man with a "Coexist" bumpersticker on his car came from behind the car that just exited and pulled right into the space that I was waiting on. That guy is hardly, "coexisting", he's clearly in his own world. I've also seen other thoughtless 'space-jackers' weasel in on other patiently waiting parkers. What is it about this lot!? I know this stuff happens in parking lots all over, but this is just the absolute worst I've seen. I've had easier parking experiences in smaller downtown Chicago lots. If you're going anywhere near the stores I mentioned at the River Forest Town Center, do yourself a favor and park as far away as possible.
