I missed last years event but was able to attend this year. I arrived a little early so I could get a nice standing spot up front. There were so many people from children to adults waiting on Mr. Claus himself to arrive my Helicopter. There were activities for the kids to enjoy. There was a free hot chocolate stand set up. Face painting, and free activities for kids. If you spent $25 or more purchase from any merchant store at Winston Plaza. You were able to get a free photo with Santa. The kickoff started at noon and Mr. & Mrs. Claus landed safely and in fashion. This was a epic experience for the family.

My daughter passed on the play area because there's still snow on it. I felt she was too grown to play on it anyway. Even if she wanted to, it would've entertained her for a few minutes. The play area, in my opinion, is for under 3 years old. Another con. Free concerts and family events are thrown here. According to opentable.com , there's 39 restaurants to dine in around the area. 2 stars because I had to drive around the area to get to certain stores and face weather conditions instead of being indoors for my daughter to roam around and less risk of being sick.

Unfortunately, this was one of the most unprofessional customer service experiences I've had with T-Mobile. When I walked in, there were three employees in the store and another who appeared to be on break looking at phone cases. I was not greeted, acknowledged, or offered any help for about 15 minutes. Eventually, an employee approached me. I explained my situation, and she told me she could not help me and that I had to go online to file the claim myself. When I later called T-Mobile directly, I was told that store representatives are in fact able to help customers file claims. That means this employee chose not to assist me, which is extremely disappointing. I've been a loyal T-Mobile customer for 9 years (and before that a Sprint customer). I expect at least basic courtesy and accurate information when I visit a store. This location failed at both. Customer service is about helping the customer, not making them feel like they are a burden. No one was willing to do their job to assist. Sadly, I will not be returning to this store and I hope management takes steps to retrain their staff!

I see that the Bear Paddle Swim School is under construction, Rock Star Nails recently opened and one of my faves, Barnes & Noble, continues to do well here. There are also some small boutiques that I love--the Half Price Books is a terrific store where I always get good deals on hard to find books and rare CDs. The food options are good and well-placed, for what is essentially a series of wonkily-positioned strip malls. You won't go hungry at this shopping center. There are a bunch of fast food places clustered in the north-east section of the shopping center (Panda Express, Corner Bakery, and a Penn Station East Coast Subs), a few on the north-west side (Subway, Jersey Mike's), and sit down, stand-alone restaurants that ring the parking lot (Chili's and Outback Steakhouse). Near the AMC Movie Theater, there's a Buffalo Wild Wings, Village Roadhouse, and a Red Robin. I still have nostalgia for the huge CompUSA that used to be here. It's where I bought my first "real" computer--the Bondi Blue iMac in 1998. I also miss the Pier 1 that closed back in early 2000 (the sign is still currently up). If you're taking public transit from the city, catch the Pace 290 from the Howard Station of the Red Line, and it'll drop you across the street from the mall. If you're driving, good luck--this mall has a reputation for the roads and parking lots in front being oddly placed. I think there's also a parking garage for the AMC Movie Theater, too.

The floor is split into two separate halves, with seating and table on each side. The staff were all very nice. I had misplaced the summons but the woman behind the counter kindly told me to go to Window 4, where another woman took my information and printed up a new one. There was an orientation video we had to watch and once that was over, we were told we could move to the other side, which I did. Since I was going to be there for a while, I brought my laptop to get some work done. There are vending machines for snacks, drinks and coffee. The whole process for selection was pretty organized as they called folks by groups to the court. In the end I was not called and we were told we could come up and get our checks and leave. As they had us in groups, they were calling us up by group numbers....all done very efficiently After I left, I went down to hang out in the plaza. There is always something going on and sure enough, there was a DJ spinning tunes. It was nice to sit with The Picasso" (Untitled sculpture) and listening to the tunes. For a day of jury duty, this was a good day and I was able to perform my civic duty.

Growing up with four brothers, NO sisters and having my dad in the home EVERYTHING was male dominated. I had NO control over the activities. Sports this, sports that. TV shows included wrestling and boxing. So there was absolutely NO way Mr. Oscar De La Hoya was getting past me without a picture. Wait till my brothers see it. Just think, I was a bit disappointed to hear that a few of my favorite food trucks decided to park near Lollapalooza instead of showing up at Daley Plaza. I still enjoyed myself. My jerk lunch special; all white meat chicken on top of rice and beans, with cabbage, yams and bread, hit the spot in a really good way. I even had two of my girlfriends meet me and ran into a Yelp Elite. So, no complaints.
