The floor is split into two separate halves, with seating and table on each side. The staff were all very nice. I had misplaced the summons but the woman behind the counter kindly told me to go to Window 4, where another woman took my information and printed up a new one. There was an orientation video we had to watch and once that was over, we were told we could move to the other side, which I did. Since I was going to be there for a while, I brought my laptop to get some work done. There are vending machines for snacks, drinks and coffee. The whole process for selection was pretty organized as they called folks by groups to the court. In the end I was not called and we were told we could come up and get our checks and leave. As they had us in groups, they were calling us up by group numbers....all done very efficiently After I left, I went down to hang out in the plaza. There is always something going on and sure enough, there was a DJ spinning tunes. It was nice to sit with The Picasso" (Untitled sculpture) and listening to the tunes. For a day of jury duty, this was a good day and I was able to perform my civic duty.

Parking isn't cheap here but with validation it isn't super unreasonable either. The shop selection definitely leans towards more fun activities like movies, cafes, higher end shopping, furniture, jewelery, and higher end restaurants. In particular, the only Canadian based Earls location in Chicago is located here. With nice landscaping, wide roads, places to sit around, plenty of parking, and nice looking exteriors to the shops, this is really a nice area to hang out and relax in a spot that feels more like a suburban shopping center. This will be a place I definitely come back to in the future when hanging out with friends in the area.

I'm an older woman by myself and those doing so feel free to make me feel afraid and uncomfortable because I'm by myself. I've lived in the area for 40 years, not only have they built the downtown up too much, increased the parking prices (if you can find parking at peak time)- you'd think the socially pious Oak Park would pour some money into stopping pedestrians from being verbally harassed and physically threatened. I have to be there a few times a month for a doctor's appointment, but soon I'll move those appointments elsewhere. I'm an older woman who walks much of the time by myself- downtown Oak Park is quickly becoming a place I want to spend fewer of my retail and entertainment dollars. One has to drive through a busy street/intersection to get to the other stores within this plaza. This is my con. Winston plaza is located in Melrose Park and has its own street name (1254 Winston Plaza, 60160). http://winston-plaza.com/home Yesterday, there was an outdoor play area and there was a Christmas tree still up. My daughter passed on the play area because there's still snow on it. I felt she was too grown to play on it anyway. Even if she wanted to, it would've entertained her for a few minutes. The play area, in my opinion, is for under 3 years old. Another con. Free concerts and family events are thrown here. According to opentable.com , there's 39 restaurants to dine in around the area. 2 stars because I had to drive around the area to get to certain stores and face weather conditions instead of being indoors for my daughter to roam around and less risk of being sick.
