My item started at over that but TRR lowers the prices very quickly and often! The sale left me with $17. But they charge $12.50 for the check fee!! This wasn't disclosed anywhere and I can't even find other options to see if I can get payment with no fees! This seems like a calculated scam to take more money as that's a ridiculous amount for a check fee! I only made $4.30 on a sale. It's NOT worth it! I'm so angry about this! I wish I had read more reviews about the selling side before I tried it. Lesson learned I guess. Unless you're selling a $5000 item and okay with getting a couple hundred for it, I DO NOT recommend trying to sell through here! And based on the selling reviews on here, even if your items are worth that much, looks like you'll still have issues. TRR...you should be ashamed of your business practices.

We were shocked, confused, and honestly embarrassed, in public for something we didn't do. They didn't ask politely or explain anything. They just assumed. No proof. No apology. nothing We cooperated and showed them we had nothing, and instead of admitting their mistake, they gave us attitude and let us go like we were guilty. This kind of treatment is completely unacceptable, especially when you treat young customers like criminals just because we're teens or don't "look" like your usual shoppers. We came to shop, not to be profiled or harassed. I will not be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this store to anyone who values basic respect.

She is on the phone. "Hi, may I take a quick picture?"…read moreI asked politely. The lady responded, "no photo, goodbye." While this short poem pretty much sums up my 30-second visit at Oriental Boutique, it is also an acrostic that describes the lady's attitude and the service. I was looking for a traditional Chinese dress (i.e. Qi Pao) for my girlfriend, whom I am going to marry. However, most of the designs cater to kids or tourists (that might explain why most positive reviews were written by non-Asian customers... just saying!) and very few of them are for adults. As someone who grew up in an ethnically Chinese background, I had seen and worn more culturally authentic and better designed traditional gowns and dresses. Many designs displayed in the store seem "oriental" in a western sense or as in what westerners think "oriental" should look like, but this is just my subjective observation and honest opinion. The lady was on the phone all the time, and when I asked her question, she literally answered, "no photo, goodbye." Okay. BYE. NEVER AGAIN! Wish I could have given a zero or a negative number.

I was instantly greeted by one of the workers who was very helpful in explaining to me what brands they carried at this shop. All of the brands they carry are Chicago based which was great to see them supporting local designers and artists. I learned that they also do printing at this location so it's a great spot to get your merch printed and possibly work with them on selling your merch in their shop. There is a dope memorial piece at the entrance in memory of Chicago's own ZackTV which is worth going to check out. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking to see what local Chicago designers have to offer and anyone interested in streetwear and fashion.
