My husband and I recently purchased a few items from Foreman Mill, mostly for his clothes for work,etc seeing that they don't have fitting rooms you have to take a chance and get your items and try them on at home, well the clothes didn't fit him as expected but the issue is that he lost the receipt,mind you that day we spent over $200, so as most stores if you don't have the receipt you can at least exchange the items but they said no, so we're stuck with stuff we can't use, I'm very disappointed with them and will not be shopping there anymore.period. read more

Biggedy bam, mutha flowers!! I found the "new AJ Wright" (god rest its soul) and it's the obnoxiously red and yellow painted building on the corner of North and Cicero Avenue! This store opened a few months ago and it looks so strange from the outside -like a big warehouse that would sell industrial materials or something. I had been afraid to go in there because the neighborhood is a bit rough in them thar' parts, but it was my boyfriend's birthday and I wanted to treat him to a gift. He too is mourning the loss of his favorite store (AJ Wright) so I was hoping to give him a double bday present -the hope that he has found an equitable replacement *and* an actual gift. He acted as my bodyguard and we braved the deary, rainy elements to venture out to that part of the city. I was actually really impressed! It was very AJ-Wright-ish but actually kinda better because it wasn't all chaotic and disorganized. They actually had a bunch of cute stuff. Tons of cute T-shirts, jeans, purses and (ooooooh snap!) ladies, -I found my funky shoe place once again! -And I'm embarrassed to say I added two more pairs to my ridiculous collection! The crowd was cool too. There is a well built (and handsome!) security guard in the front and a bunch of regular old people -lots of families, diversity. I even got a compliment on the shoes I was wearing by one of the sales clerks (I made sure to credit -you guessed it -AJ Wright). It was a great experience! Cashier Tammy was very nice too and even alerted the Supervisor when I asked if there was a damaged merchandise discount (there is-10%) since the shoes in my size were a little beat up but I still liked them! Total damage? $38.93 for two pairs of shoes and a funky belt. So glad I checked it out! Forman Mills is really a "bric-a-brac" or "knickknack" mills. If you don't mind this part of town being a bit shady, I would say pop in every once in a while since that place just sells random merchandise. We found our nephews' and my brother-in-law's Christmas presents at their toy department. As we were wrapped up with our shopping trip here in FM, a fight broke out in the back of the store. CPD officers were on site with the manager on duty. Customers really could care less because the line to checkouts was LONG. Nevertheless, all cashiers were available and many registers were open. The line was moving rather swiftly. If you are paying with a credit card, ensure to have a valid government-issued photo ID ready. Any retailer cannot take the hit with contested charges and suffer from much shrink due to operational errors. It is what it is, ladies and gentlemen. You will see some random soda spills on the ground and unfinished coffee cups lying on the shelves. Workers are gonna concentrate on busting shipments, and managers are gonna call police several times a week to keep the store in check. Pros: great finds for great price points. Store was neat organized. Cons: I spent over $100 in there just for them to treat me like a thief at the exit. After following you around the store, security decides to go item for item down my receipt to make sure I paid for everything (which I did). Two days later I came back to exchange and return items. A woman was being detained for stealing so it does looks like they have a huge theft/loss problem. Still, no need to harass paying customers. Needless to say, on the way out myself (and my sister, who had a baby with her) were interrogated and patronized by security at the exit. One of the cashiers missed scanning a $2 deodorant and we went back and paid for it but we should've returned everything and left. You get what you pay for. I bought 2 pairs of pants here. One has a hole in the crotch after not even wearing 5 times . Bought a bath mat. So thin it feels like I'm standing on the floor and dirt gets caught in it after one use. Bought a jacket. The seams are coming apart after 2 washes. Thanks for helping me prove to my boyfriend being cheap is actually more expensive. Oh and if your not black be prepared to be stared at like your a freak of nature. If your not used to or can't tolerate poor ghetto fabulous annoying people don't even bother coming in this store. If you want to see why the west side is always being shot up come here. I'm reviewing the villa park location. It Isn't on yelp yet, anyway what a huge store. Watch out when you walk in, there's a security tower righ in the middle of the walk way when the automatic double doors open. Poor layout. Hate to admit it, but I almost walked into it. Seems that the clothing they carry in villa park is targeted to a certain race of people. Should carry more sporting brands like Nike, Adidas, UnderArmor, Puma, Polo..Not everyone likes ghetto-wear clothing Sean John, SouthPole, Rocawear, LRG... Every clothing item is pretty much defective in some sort of way, mostly in underwear, socks & T-shirts. You'll find a cut tag, a black X on tag less T's or stamped "irregular". This is because the manufacture rejected the sale of their produced item. Look closely at a shirt that has a cut tag, a sleeve may be 1cm longer than the other. That's why it's so cheap. If it doesn't bother you then you'll get a great deal. The store is messy and the staff seem to make prices up at check out. I bought socks and t-shirts for work. Some of the things I purchased didn't have tags. What a nightmare. They'd bring up something that looks alike and charge me that price, kind of wierd? The managers I believe are in black shirts and look as if they came from Reno 911. I wouldn't even feel comfortable using a credit card. Yeah the store just gives me that feeling. read more

If you can get over the guilt that almost everything in this store is priced as low as it is because it's almost all from China, then you can find some major bargains here. As far as mens' clothes go, they have tons of basic things. Button-down shirts and jeans are all gigantic sizes. However, prices are just a little bit more than a thrift store, so for some items, it's worth it. Unfortunately, some displays have items in giant piles, such as for hats, gloves, socks, scarves, etc. I did score a Thinsulate hat and glove combo for $6, six-pack of Hanes socks for $4, and almost bought a pair of orange Sperry Topsiders for $29. Keep in mind, this place is also cheap because everything was bought in bulk. It's warehouse-sized, and I am grateful I came at night when crowds were thin. The location isn't that great, but if you're out driving on Cicero Ave or North Ave, it's worth a stop. read more

I went there and spent money just to come out and be stopped at the door and was accused for stealing. I told them multiple times to show me on the camera what I stole and they couldn't. they checked my receipt and every item in my bag was accounted for. After hearing for the longest about the low prices, I decided to check it out. I went twice to give it a chance. Yes, the prices are inexpensive, but the selection is not the best. The ads claim there is a wide variety of clothes, but both times I went to the Austin neighborhood store, I didn't find what had been advertised. In other words, it's not much there for adult women. However, I recommend those who have small kids at home or work as nurses/nurses' aides go there -- they carry a lot of clothes for those groups. read more

I am rating the Villa Park store! The store itself has some very nice clothing that I loved! HOWEVER! Today I went to the store to exchange some of my husband's shirts and everything went well until I found these pair of pants that were under the 50% off rack along with ALL the other same kind of pants. When I went to the register to check out, the cashier told me they were not a red tag price! So the cashier asked some other associate to come and check the price to make sure they were under the red tag, I even walked over to the rack where they were and the associate said "yeah, they are under the red tag" but the other customer service helper refused to take that answer! She called the store manager and the store manager said no to giving me the pants for the sale price! UM... EXCUSE ME! YOUR ASSOCIATES ARE THE ONES THAT PLACED THE PANTS UNDER THE SALE RACK!!! What was even more embarrassing was that there was customer in front of me waiting for something and even she kept saying that they should give me the pants for the sale price since it was under the rack! The cashier kept telling me they should not be there! WELL OKAY! DO I WORK AT THE STORE? NO! MAYBE THEY NEED TO TRAIN THEIR EMPLOYEES A LITTLE BETTER BECAUSE YOU SHOULD NOT FALSE ADVERTISE CLOTHING!!! I loved the store but today has seriously made me angry! The prices are great for families, perfect for kids and teens. The racks and selections are outstanding. But I have one major issue with this place. They take forever at checkout. I understand a little wait. But waiting until you have literally 30 people in line to add more cashiers is counterproductive and bad for business! HIRE MORE CASHIERS!!! read more

Assumed i was there for an exchange and when i told him i was there for a refund he started throwing his head around and rolling his eyes and huffing and puffing. I like coming her because you never know what your gonna find for a great price, however it is over crowded with clothing that are misplaced in various places and clothing are indeed thrown on the floor and there is always like 1 or 2 cashiers open when its flooded with people. The Forman mills in Lansing is kept up WAAAAY better than this one. clothes are kicked and dragged around the floor and the employees clearly aren't in a rush to clean things up before customers arrive .... like for real ....lint and dirt and swept up under the clothing racks??? read more

huge selection, cheap prices but beware: I've never seen a worse checkout process. count on at least 15-20 minutes to pay. sometimes there's not enough workers back there, sometimes there's more than enough, either way it doesn't matter---it's like they're contractually obligated to move as slow as possible and never, ever smile or say thank you. it's also confusing as to where you go for returns vs where you go to pay for something; an employee will bark at you if you're in the wrong line, and it's pretty common for people to cut in one line if the other one's too long (and it always is). overall, an F for customer service. read more

I would never go to this store based on its radio advertising. For the past 6 weeks I have been hearing an ad the screams the name of a company but I could not tell what the company was. It sounded like Haram ales. It was a discount clothing store and it was in Villa Park but that was all I could tell from the radio ad. I asked my friends to listen to the commercial to see if they could figure out the name of the company. No one could understand the shouting. I finally saw a commercial on TV this week and found out the name was Forman Mills. There is a male manager who happens to be African American and if you are not African American, he will not welcome you to that store. I saw a pair of boots that I liked. They were perfect for the snow. Unfortunately they had lots of dirt all over the sole and a funny smell. Obviously, somebody returned them after having worn them for a while. There was no price tag and they were the only pair left in that design. I took it to the register along with other items and asked a young lady behind the counter how much the boots were. She also noticed the boots had been worn and returned. She told me she would have to check the price with her manager due to the boots condition. Then she came out of her managers office and told me the boots were originally $39 but her manager would give me a discount and the final price would be $24. I was a little hesitant and didn't want to buy them, but at the same time I appreciated the time the young cashier took to check and I agreed on buying them. So the cashier needed a managers authorization to charge me the new discount price and another manager stepped in. He was an African American male and when he noticed the boots were for me and I don't happen to be African American, he refused to sell the boots to me. He argued that the dirt was part of the design. (Seriously, was he under the influence of some illicit drug?? ) Even the other employees told him it was dirt and he kept saying it's part of the design. He refused to honor the other managers discount price and told me that those boots sell for over $100. I didn't want to argue. However, I noticed most of the customers and employees at that store are black. I also noticed this male manager was approving discounts for black customers, but when he had to approve a discount that the other manager had offered already, he rejected it. Why? because he saw me and he didn't like the fact that I'm not black. The other manager who offered the discount didn't see me at the begining. She was busy in her office. But when she came out and saw me she changed her mind and didn't want to offer me that discount anymore. The black male manager tried to put a nice show for the enjoyment of his black employees and customers. Nevertheless, I would never lower myself to that level. I respectfully proceeded to pay for the other merchandise and I thanked the young cashier. My question is, if they didn't want to approve the discount, how on earth did they allow somebody to return those boots? They had mud all over! I would bet anything that it was a black person who wore and returned those boots. Honestly, I don't care at all if somebody doesn't like me based on my race, creed, orientation, etc. etc. In fact, I'm very proud of who I am. Therefore, I never feel offended. Nevertheless, It's funny how the African American community have nothing better to do than complain and complain and complain about racism. Black lives matter here, black lives matter there. Black lives matter everywhere. But the rest of people are sick of it! They blame their violent behavior and misfortune on racism when they are the most racist people I've ever come across. Just give them an opportunity and they will show you how much they hate you if you are not black. No wonder they live segregated. Needless to say, I learned an important lesson today and I'm never ever returning to that store. read more

Ok. So the store itself has items that are in good condition for a great bargain price. However, I regret having to use the bathroom in this place. I could not hold my urine any longer, so I rushed to the bathroom, my aunt and I, and had to have an older lady that works there enter the code to let us in. She was a pleasant African-American lady but when I tell you her response to what I saw in that bathroom you may rethink that opinion like I did. I went into the bathroom, and I reached for tissue, they were all out. Luckily, my aunt was in the other stall with tissue so she passed me some. But, as I reached back and looked on the other side of the wall, feces was spreaded everywhere! i do mean everywhere! It was sooooooo disgusting..and it really ticked me off. I understand the prices are cheap, but if you are going to lock up the bathroom as if you had it built in gold, please make sure its sanitary first. The worst bathroom experience in a public place in my life!!!! I will never ever use a bathroom in this place again! I told the woman after I came out that feces was all over the walls in there. She chuckled! You work there....either clean it or do something about it..as disgusting as it was...if that was my place of employment and a worker came to me and said such a thing..I would definitely do something about it. But, I guess she didn't think the same. Also, the lines are too long...the employees are not fully aware of their products and aren't really good at helping indecisive customers at all. The lines are extremely horrible....yes you will find plenty bargains but that is if you will have the patience to wait in the long lines with usually two registers open. We almost walked out and left our bargains behind due to the long wait in line. When checking out we asked if we could put a couple items on hold and was told we could but they had to be picked up before the store was closed....Good Deal Rigth.....Wrong....2 hours after we were given a hold guarantee till close when I went to pickup the items to find out they were returned...The customer service was horrible and excuses were made as to why the items were returned after we were told they would be on hold til close but at 4:00pm they were not there. The worse part is the hell I went thru trying to find em tall over again only o walk out empty handed and a wasted trip!!! Then security has the nerve to put his 2cents in telling me that they cant hold them all night.....dude it was just put on hold at 2pm and it's now 4pm, And the policy I'm full aware of....the concern I had is why are they not still on hold...they go against their own policies and word of advice Shut your trap unless you really know what your talkin about!!! This is not the 1st time I have had issues with this location...The reps need to be retrained on Customer Service as their attitudes toward concerns is Blah...at least try rectifying the issue instead of looking dumbfounded....Whewww read more
