If you know me, you probably see me in various "Five Below" stores throughout the city just to poke…read morearound. I like to pop in there and find new, cheap sh*t. Don't underestimate some of the stuff we spot a lot on a regular basis. Often times things incite my inner creativity and you gotta let it run to make life interesting and inspirational. Surely, $5 apparel, decors, and knickknacks are inexpensive, and we all know this phrase: you get what you pay for. However, I have good self-control and don't go wild on spending a ton on non-necessities. I usually buy a couple of items in one (1) visit. If I don't see anything that tickles my fancy, I walk out with three (3) pieces of Air Heads and one (1) stick of cow tales (4 for $1 loose candy deal). I like their incenses. I don't burn them but like to utilize them for decorations. They are $0.20 (as of 09/16/2018) each. The store also provides the plastic bags to put the incenses in at the station. I have purchased their graphic tees in the past. They run small and can shrink a bit after a few of times of wash, like most t-shirts do. Overall, the quality is alright and colors don't fade much. Hubby said this particular location (Brickyard Shopping Center) has a good number of amiibo figurines. I think the geeky people would like "Five Below" because of some merchandise involving with popular gaming characters is carried in the store. I also have seen and scored some cool posters in different "Five Below" locations. All you need is a frame, and ta-da, your living room/bedroom/guest room wall art is done! "Five Below" is a fun store to shop. I would say one of the drawbacks is that there are always children running around, assuming they do so under some type of parental supervision (not-so-much sometimes). I bear with it and don't really care! Employees in the stores are often not too enthusiastic. Nevertheless, they don't give me a hard time.

Before I walked into this retailer, I assumed this was an outlet of "Ross Dress for Less" since both stores are under the same ownership. Well, "DD's" had the stuff that Ross didn't sell and W*l-ma*t's overstock. In other words, it wasn't too far from my original guess. Hubby and I came in on a Saturday evening. The entire store was quite picked over. There wasn't much to tickle my fancy. The two (2) stars were given to the low price on plastic shower liner, $2.99. I will remember that whenever I need a replacement in the future. Hubby and I did a quick dash through the Place and then drove to the nearby Ross. I recommend checking out the Ross in the adjacent shopping plaza. It's way more interesting, I promise. I'm really not sure if I will stop by "DD's" in the Brickyard location again. They had everything you could think of for a $1. I originally went in for a ballon and a card and walked out with some beautiful pinwheels for my garden (at Menards I would have paid at least $5 for just one vs $1 each). So we walk the mall and we finally get to the Nordstrom Rack store... ahh, the fine things I can find in there. We start to look at the shoes and he starts to pick out shoes for me... and turns to me and says that we aren't leaving the store until I use my gift card money. G-A-S-P! The audacity! My husband telling me that I need to spend money on myself! LOL!! As I clutched my imaginary pearls - all of a sudden I'm southern and in shock! - I started looking around for things that I wanted! How dare I, right?! We finally get to the register... with 4 pairs of shoes and a pair of sunglasses in tow... the wonderful Haley B was the person that we had the opportunity to ring out with. As my items were being rung up, I noticed that my gift card wasn't going to cover the whole amount of the purchase. So I make a comment to the hubby that I'm gonna have to leave something behind since I wouldn't have enough to cover the total... Haley jumps in and asks me the amount on the gift card and after I tell her, she advises me that she will add a coupon to my amount so that I wouldn't be over! OMG!!! Now that's what I call customer service!!! I was over the moon walking out of the store with everything that I wanted because of one employees looking out for a customer! They have a larger variety of items…read more There are some items that they always have in stock here, but, at least 1/2 of the items are hit or miss. Check here often for items you usually purchase anyway. I find toothpaste, sandwich bags, batteries & other items for a lot less than regular variety stores.
