The cashier, older looking man, was so rude! He kept huffing and puffing over something that was out of my control. I was dealing with a problem that was out of my control, internet wasn't working so I couldn't pull up my kohls card. Anyways, he was growing impatient although I was apologizing over and over again while on the phone with customer service. My kohls card stopped working so I got on the phone with customer service and again... huffing and puffing. Customer service finally told me that my card was available for usage and all problems were resolved but somehow my card, with a balance of more than 500, was still "declining" in which the cashier was saying so loud, but it's okay, anyways he kept saying my card was declining although I had not inserted, tapped, or even enter my phone number. read more

It's been a while since I came to this place. They have a huge selection of inventory. You can see a lot of staff where they will assist you and help you if you need anything. The floor was clean and neat. I went to the mens section. I search for their products and look for clothes. When I'm in a shirt area. I looked at the price of it and it was pricey. But the quality was good. It was cotton. The shirt was worth the price. I purchased a plain beige shirt, an anime shirt design with a color of black and white shirt with a statement design. I like the quality of the fabric! Aside from that I also bought shorts. It's perfect for the shirt that I bought. Highly recommend this place. read more

First time for me in a Kohl's. On the surface, it looks okay. Aisles seemed a decent size and the displays were neat and organized. The home section looked more exciting than the clothing sections. I love to shop (mostly online), but when I can walk out of a store without being tempted to buy something, well that's a m'eh. Just for the record, I normally would not stop in here as Kohl's is not on my go to list of places to shop, especially this location. It is a pain in the ass at most time to get out of the parking lot. But I had to return some items to Amazon and Kohl's is now the authorized free way to ship things back. Once I saw UPS wanted $20 each to return my two items, I opted for the free option at the Amazon drop off at this location. The Amazon drop off is on the first floor near the escalator. The young woman working there was very bubbly and happy, so guessing she works for Amazon and not Kohl's, based on some of the reviews I have read about customer service. If you are driving to this location, I would recommend parking on the upper level, which is accessed from the Octavia Street (left turn lane on Forest Preserve, going east). There were not many cars up there and I was able to park by the Kohl's door. Also you can leave via the Montrose exit to get to Harlem, Forest Preserve or Irving Park to avoid the crush of people coming out of the parking lot, trying to get to Forest Preserve Drive going east. Since this is on the way home, this will be my new drop off items I need to return to Amazon when the need arises. read more

This location is fine. All Kohl's have a confusing layout and expensive prices but they merged with Amazon for returns to they are winning!

Here with my wife to do some returns. While shopping, she found a couple of items she wanted to try on, but we walked a full circle and couldn't find the women's fitting room or one that was not blocked off. Finally we asked and were told it's upstairs. Wow, only one fitting room is open and is upstairs, how inconvenient. If you want customers to purchase clothing, it might be beneficial to open up a few more fitting rooms. Otherwise, it's a very mellow Sunday morning at kohl's, and I believe it may be time to try a different kohl's location. It was difficult to find an employee during our shopping day. read more

And it took four different calls over the PA asking for help when I tracked down different employees to ask for help who said they couldn't do Amazon returns. This location was by far the messiest Kohl's I've ever visited. They do not have much product and just seemed like I was walking around an empty store. The jewelry area was so crammed against poles and misc. things that I couldn't even get close to it. I was on a mission to purchase the items I needed and found something decent. When I got to the register the cashier was very pushy in trying to get the previous customer to sign up for a card. The girl looked at me and shook her head several times after she was asked four times if she was sure. I went here in Kohl's to return a product in Amazon and also for window shopping. Parking in here was very easy. I was greeted right after I walked in and the store looks pretty clean. I immediately went to the Amazon return but unfortunately there is a long line but I waited patiently since I also have nothing to do at home. It is my turn and the staff in there was very nice and friendly, she scanned my return code and printed my confirmation and it was finished. I then proceed on looking for items I might like inside. This particular branch is not the biggest but it was also a bit spacious. There were a lot of good items that are well organized. I used to frequently patronize Kohl's until I found the joy of thrift-shopping. Now I feel shopping at Kohl's is a little frustrating. Here are the reasons why: 1) their deceiving coupon strategy: I went in and checked out the thermal underwear for hubby. I had a "$10 off $40 purchase" on certain brands specified on the coupon. Hubby's thermal, after their "amazing 25% off in-store discount," it came out to be $33. In other words, all I had to do was to add an item worth of seven (7) bucks! Was this task easy? Heck no! I had a choice of either grabbing another style of thermal underwear or pick a pair of socks from that specific brand in order to qualify for using the coupon. Oh wait, this pair of knee-high socks wouldn't do it, because after in-store discount, it was $6.75. In the end, I went with the over-the-knee socks, since I've spent almost an hour trying to brainstorm all the possibilities for an eligible purchase. 2) their messy clearance racks: occasionally, I can give a second look on their clearance sections. Nothing is organized, so make sure your blood-sugar level is optimal before attempting to shop at this part of the store. In my opinion, the prices on the clearance sections aren't always low, unless you spot quality items on their 80% off racks. If you have coupons or coupons that link to your Kohl's charge, start doing your math again. Like I've mentioned on the previous paragraph, they have a pretty deceiving coupon strategy. 3) non-existing and phantom-like sales associates: where are they? I constantly hear the PA announcements on looking for additional sales associates and cashiers. How can I make it to the check-out lane without getting any assistance from anyone on the sales floors? Luckily, I'm a retail professional, so I do the honor to help myself. The young Rosa J. signed up the Kohl's charge four (4) some years ago, so I walk into a Kohl's location every now and then. EXTREMELY disappointed with this place, beyond belief. Words can't describe how RUDE and how terrible experience I had last night at this place, after 6 years of coming to this location!! 1. I worked retail and I do know what the pressures are and how rude customers can be through out the holiday season!! ( 5 years at V.S will do that to you ) BUT If a customer is NOT RUDE to you do NOT be rude to them. NO MATTER HOW MANY OTHER JERKS YOU"VE DEALT WITH. I was what the retail industry would call a destination shopper, I came specifically looking for a certain item to knock off my Christmas list after asking the first associate I seen she directed me to the third floor near a certain section. As I am walking with my friend I see the associate coming towards our area she clearly had on a Kohls necklace or name tag thing.. and I started with excuse me?? and she blatantly ignored me and continued to walk, thinking okay maybe she didn't hear me I proceed to step closer to her direction and say once again EXCUSE ME DO YOU KNOW WHERE I CAN FIND THIS ITEM? (not naming it's a x-mas gift lol ) and she not only ROLLED her eyes at me and then hissed/snapped back at me I need to go turn something off and waved me away like I was some type of damn dog. IMMEDIATELY my blood started to boil, and she stares at me and she's like well???.. and I look at her in complete disbelief and said are you serious??? and she continues to roll her eyes at me I put my hand as she ignorantly did to me and said NEVER MIND and she did NOT apologize or take one sec to say anything and walked away!!!! my girl friend and I were in complete shock I think our mouth's are still on the third floor at Kohls. Just experienced the WORST most blatant disrespectful action I have ever seen from a KOHLS cashier at the "HIP" or otherwise known as Harlem Irving Plaza. The clerk (a hispanic female) in how she bullied a female customer about why she didn't know how much money was on her gift cards! I was outraged for the customer and felt horrible a store employee would talk down to anyone like so. The customer was so upset and spoke minimal english (enough to have not warranted such absurd behaviors). The associate seemed annoyed and continued to quickly run the gift cards thru her computer system to check the amounts, and immediately proceeded in saying (verbatim), "okay you ARE DONE... BYE... GO... JUST GO" Other store cashiers across from her started laughing surprisingly. The woman proceeded in getting a manager after her humiliating experience, just to have the "manager/supervisor," offer an abrupt apology without any form of disciplinary actions or anything of the sort as I stood there watching the entire time while I was waiting my turn in line. What's worst is, when the customer had left... the manager jokingly nudged the cashier in question and they both had another good laugh about the whole incident. I am shocked how anyone feel they may or may not have the authority or level mindedness to act in such a way to customers frequenting their business. WAS THIS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT?! You may ask... I usually go to North Riverside . I picked up my 92 yr old mom from hospital. She needed a few items so i took her to Harlem-Irving Kohls. Found her about 7 items that she really liked. I am a Kohls credit card holder. I asked cashier if she could check my wallet. She did not want to check and stated that there were no coupons on this day. Since my mom is handicapped, it is hard to get her to go shopping. I paid my bill with my visa . (over $160). If I had gone to Kohls in North Riverside , they would have told me that the next day everything would be 20% off and 10 dollars for each $50 dollars spent. This is a large savings for a handicapped person. I will not be going to this Kohls again. North riverside store has also held onto my items until next day sale and I picked them up. read more

Had dirty spots on a few things I wanted. No solution offered. I asked for inventory per location. Only store can hold items for 24 hours and no purchase options at others stores or through web. Kohls needs to update the systems fast otherwise it's not going to get sales from the new generation of customers. as a long time shopper at Kohl's i'm aware of the way "KOHL"S CASH" works. I had $30.00 and it was expired dec.9th. I went to store dec 10th and at ths register the cashier refused the "CASH" stated it exoired. I explained to her that there is a grace period and if she would scan it it would go through. she refused. extremely long lines and I was so angry. paid for purchase and left store very angry. thought maybe it was a new policy now. fast forward....i'm at Kohl's this am and the cashier gives me some education on "KOHLS CASH". there is a 15 day grace period...I proceed to tell her what happened earlier in week and she said if she would have scanned it the CASH was still good. to make matters worse I threw it out when I got home due to frustration and anger. I have a YES2YOU rewards card and found out that someone else other than the intended 2 people are on it. The associate explain that he's unable to remove the 3rd unidentified party. He did however provide me with the number to call. Called the number, the rep was short with me, said the associate shouldn't have directed me to them and told me that she could not remove the person. Now, note I've had this phone number way too long for anyone else to be using it. She quoted privacy-I don't care to know the person name, I just wanted the person removed. Rep told me they were unable to accommodate me. Asked for a supervisor she stated they were not available. Asked for a supervisor, Manager was told unavailable and that someone would call me back. That was 3 days ago. Perplexed and totally disappointed with Kohl's rep. Now this is just the reward card that I was inquiring about, I also have a Kohl's charged. Shopping was fine. But the bathroom was atrocious. I walked in with my friend and once we were both inside, we turned to each other and made a face at the same time. The place was disgusting. The sink counters were covered in water and bits of paper towel. Paper towels and toilet paper was all over the floor and the toilets were nasty. That wasn't the worst part though. When you walk in, it smells like someone smeared fecal matter all over the walls. My eyes burned. Probably because of the portable blower fan they had going near the door. I am sure it was meant to dry the floor at some point, but in a poorly ventilated room, all it was succeeding in doing was blowing the stench around. Awful! You'd expect conditions like this in Walmart not in Kohls... Aren't you guys supposed to be high end? Went to the Harlem and Irving Kohl's to purchase a sofa safer that couldn't find it asked the associate in the department where it was he told me he didn't know look over by bedding, Went to customer service asked about the throw the customer service rep told me she didn't know what it was or where to find it, turned her back to me and went back to folding returned merchandise.
