This costco has the best check out cashiers. They treat us like old friends , polite and upbeat all the time. Today we miss an item after we stock up our items. Look everywhere cannot find it. Check the receipe , miss an item. Call up the costco administration , tell them if they find the item in the self checkout station. She couldn't find it. But, she said even she cannot find it, she will put one out for us to pick up. Unbelievable excellent customer service. When I got there to pick up the item, they told me they found it outside in the shopping cart!!!!!!! That is customer service!!!! They make my day! read more

Usually The Doctor comes to this location to pick up items, but on this particular day, I went with him because we had some place else we were heading to that day. I was not aware that there was a special time for us to enter the store without the masses pouring in, so that was cool. I am not much for actual shopping in brick and mortar stores, so made the experience nice for me This is the location where he picks up my Kirkland Prosecco Rose and other items for the house. Like other Costco's I have been in, this one is well stocked. Staff that I did interact with were nice and helpful. I was glad I was with The Doctor as it stopped me from getting a bunch of stuff we did not need, but I did pick up a bottle of the Kirkland champagne. Clocking in around $22 (I think), it was pretty decent and I would get it again. I love Costco as a concept and have told people many times that I would work there simply because of the way they treat their employees. I have this thing about employee discounts, even though I don't need them, and this place has a great one. I will not downgrade the store's rating for the type of customers that shop there, because that ain't right. But some of the reviewers are not wrong about them. Because we have an Executive membership, we were able to get in at 9 am. Well there were some "annoyed" regular members who were mad that Executive members were being let in, but they could not get in until 10 am, saying loudly it was not fair. So for me, that extra hour made for a much enjoyable shopping experience for me. Costco is still my go to store as long as The Doctor is going on during regular hours, for me it will be 9 am. read more

I love this location because they have a great gas station right across the street. But this day, I was really hankering for a hot dog. So of course I went in and tried so free samples and the I had to get my dog $1.50 hot dog combo which comes with a fountain drink. Even though it was a line at the food station my hot dog was ready in no time. The hot dog is juicy and beefy and the bun was soft and pillowy. The have mustard, ketchup and relish out. But if you want onion you have to ask for them. I still miss the sauerkraut but for the, I'm not going to complain. After that, I got a quote on getting my tires replaced from my vehicle and the young lady behind the counter gave me so much information. I know that I will make the correct decision. The only downside to Costco is getting out of the parking lot. They need to add another stop sign so people are a little bit more forgiving. read more

Honestly, just a standard Costco that offers a few more varieties of products than most. The caveat is the level of crowdedness: holy smokes, I've never seen a Costco this crowded at honestly any time of day. Bumper to bumper cart traffic, and the employees were cracking some crowd control jokes at the cashier trying to get people moving from the self check-out to the regular cashiers. Anyway, product-wise things are pretty standard. I love how the bakery here is more open than others I've seen, but it also means the tempting smell of freshly made cakes and bread haunt you throughout that section. My dad was impressed by the number of specialty Lunar New Year items they had in comparison to the Costco in the west suburbs. Produce seemed pretty fresh, and the freezer aisle was well stocked. We went on a day where there were samples in every section, from the ready made to the snacks and freezer aisles. Omelettes, kombucha, meatballs, you name it -- samples galore. The staff was so kind and were even making some puns ("Kombucha for you-a") to keep the shopping atmosphere light. Price for value is always pretty good here! I would still check online and compare if you can to other big box stores with similar products (particularly if its a multi-pack, like electric toothbrush heads) to make sure you're getting the best deal. Besides the crowds, the only bothersome quality of this Costco is the architecture near the exit. The food courts wait line faces towards people leaving with their groceries, meaning there is a natural bottleneck trying to queue for the receipt checkers. A simple orientation change would have helped greatly in alleviating the crowding issue of people waiting for food while others trying to leave the store. Parking is pretty terrifying due to the amount of people coming and going. I would suggest going at non-peak hours if you can. read more

I convinced my husband that we should switch from Sam's Club to Costco and now I'm REALLY annoyed. I bought winter tires from them (to the tune of $1,200) and went for my installation appointment one weeknight at 7:30 pm. Not my first choice but it was all I could get before the holidays. After I arrived and was checked in, they let me know that tbey were running behind and the wait time was two hours!! No one could have called and told me that?? They asked if I wanted to reschedule and naturally I said yes. They found an appointment in the following week at 12:15, so I could do it on my lunch break. I booked it, arrived as scheduled, and guess what. They're running two hours behind again! To add insult to injury there's no waiting area or place to sit besides the food court. It wouldn't be so bad if there was a place to sit, plug in my laptop and do some work. I had done shopping recently and really didn't need anything but I walked around the whole store before deciding to have lunch to be able to sit and wait. I settled on a slice of pizza and realized they only have pepperoni or cheese. Sam's Club offers Italian sausage or a meat lovers. But I got my food and found that the only table open was filthy! You mean no one is available to wipe down the tables?? For all the business they do?? I ate and went to the restroom, to find the ladies room absolutely nasty. I am back to walking around while I wait and I am really not happy with Costco!! read more

I was a Costco member for many years but I relinquished my membership because I simply didn't need such large quantities. My coworker and I stopped in to purchase supplies for a work event, and honestly, it was like I fell off the wagon. From plants to furniture, the bakery and frozen cases, to chips and beverages -- everything looked bigger and brighter and tastier and cooler than my usual grocery store. I was vibrating with adrenaline from all the attractively packaged foods, the large variety of selections, the immense canyons of goods stacked high. Thank goodness we had a list to keep us on track (why do these alcoholic bevs look like soda?) and a finite amount of time. It's also good that they had very little samples. And good that we plunked down the corporate Costco card to pay. This was a fun excursion into the land of excess but I won't be back for a while. What I do miss -- the beautiful yet inexpensive bouquets and the $1.50 hot dog deal. read more

I was able to visit my local Costco. Happy to go on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Samples provided were tasty and fresh. Staff was helpful and showed me exactly what aisle to visit for a specific item. I specifically visit Costco for Pom Juice where I see best price for an extra large bottle, a great value. This Costco seems to be one of the more inefficient warehouses; the cashier and the self-check out lines are super inefficient, as the staff are just not paying attention and helping with the quick scanning; you can't really find any staff on site to help you locate certain items; the selection is pretty limited, and we had issues in finding certain products that are 'normally' carried. Make sure you look closely at the expiration dates on baked goods; more of the 'fresh' ones are nestled in the center, stacked under the ones that they want patrons to purchase first. Their gas station is across the street, but sometimes, dealing with the inefficient process with the multiple lines and the staff not directing vehicles who refuse to pull out makes you think twice of trying to get cheaper petrol. Like a lot of Costco stores it's a bear to shop here. There's parking both in the lot and across the street from the store, but thank god I've never been here when it's been quite THAT busy. There's also a gas station, near the across-the-street lot, but after the service desk at my car dealership asked if I put Costco gas in my car when something was wrong with it because apparently cheap gas hurts the car, I haven't used the gas station again. There are two kind of annoying things about this location. The first is that they have their food counter facing the checkout stands, so when people are done with their shopping and trying to leave, they have to try to squeeze out around all the people who are hanging around waiting for their pizza or hot dog or whatever. (Because if you haven't been to Costco in a while, their food counter is amongst the most popular features of the store.) The other is the way they have a few of the grocery displays set up, because they're four-sided merchandising displays and due to the backup at the checkout stands, sometimes you can't get all the way around them. But hey, maybe that will save you a few bucks. read more

Great Costco location! Always has the items I need in stock and a lot of food sample options too. The clothes variety is also really great! The only downside is that depending on the time you go, the parking lot will be packed and it'll be a ton of people inside the store, but the checkout lines do move fairly quickly. After being nagged by a friend & shopping with family, I decided to join the club. This is my local Costco & after having gone more times than I care to admit, it's time for a review. Returns? Expect a line. But if you know, you know - Costco has a stellar return policy. Other lines? They look worse than they actually are. (To clarify, I don't shop on weekends.) I've seen the age old question, "Does a single person need a Costco membership?" Yes, yes you do. I HATE running out of anything. Even for toiletries & cleaning supplies, you can expect to save quite a bit - just prepare to play Tetris with storing some of the items. They have delicious frozen items - burgers, veggies, shrimp, etc. I'll also buy my coffee here. Other items such as gummy vitamins, windshield wipers, Pyrex food storage - it's all here. The value of a membership cannot be understated. I've stopped buying burgers out because their options are amazing. Bread / bagels / buns? Split the bag in half & shove the rest in the freezer. I have also ordered a noise cancelling headset online & was able to get a price adjustment easily. Oh & snacks... do not forget the snacks. The icing on the cake is self-check out & grabbing a slice of pizza on the way out. Do yourself a favor & shop here. They'll even let you return the membership if you're unsatisfied. read more

Ugh, this is my least favorite Costco location. We try hard to avoid this place on the weekends but every now and then it is still worth dropping in. All Costcos do not carry the same products and this one often has Asian products (like sauces, ramen, dumplings, etc) not available at other locations due to their ethnically diverse customer base. Weekday visits are not too bad but depending on the time it can still be surprisingly busy. The aisles here are also tight because they are typically crammed with a lot of stuff. As it also sits on the Niles/Chicago border, the gas station here is almost always backed up with long lines of opportunistic Chicagoans. Oh well, I can't blame them, just be ready to see them. read more

I've been a Costco member since 2007 and I really enjoy my membership benefits. For those not in the know, Costco Wholesale is a retail store that sells goods and grocery in bulk. Some sites like this one have a discounted gas station. Our basic staples on our every 2-3 month visits consist of Toilet Paper, Towel Paper, Dishwasher Tabs etc, etc. The list can be limitless and you'll begin to understand why within minutes of walking in the confines. We've also scored great deals here on electronics, purchasing our recent OLED LG TV a few months back. My only issue with Costco is their Travel section on their website. Don't get me wrong, they have great vacation deals but since they are a 3rd party travel site, trying to get through to a travel rep with questions is almost impossible. Current 2022 Gold Star membership is $60.00/annually and Executive membership is $120.00. read more

This is the worst costco ever, nothing against the employees. Its just the location. Starting from the parking lot to the shopping area. Every bit is super crowded. Second everything is setup in a weird way. I couldn't find tea, naan bread was put in the aisle behind protein powders. I didn't find the halal products that I would usually find at other costcos and the no protein bars. So all in all a very disappointing experience. read more

This Costco by far has the rudest employees, managers and customers. Waited in checkout line using my credit card certificate because you could not use the self check out. About 30 minutes go by a guy in front of me and I are next up and the lane opens next to us and the clerk calls the people from behind us over, like wtf ding dong. I asked about the executive membership shopping times, and was told that this location does not partake in that. More enjoyable Costcos in other areas but the Chicago and Cook County locations Suck. Will drive to Mettawa where its less hectic, the parking lot is not like Baghdad dodging traffic. read more

I usually like this place but not so much today. I was shopping for a new laptop. While I was looking two associates in red vests walked up. They were talking to each other and completely ignoring me. One of them edged in front of me and put something in a cabinet under the counter still ignoring me. I had questions. I could have used help. They were then joined by another associate and they all got into an animated conversation paying no attention to me. I understand that the red vests means they are in the jewelry department, but after 30 years in retail I know that any customer is YOUR customer. If you can't help then you find someone who can. Very disappointed in Costco. I believe Costco customer is terrible the person I spoke to didn't want to help me resolved the issue. I explained to her that I cancel my renewal back in September. She said my account was deactivated then she said it wasn't. Then she said I open the account online which I didn't I told her I had a class in the morning. Then she said we are in a different time zone. I try to explain to her that I didn't have excess to the internet. I remember going to Costco in the afternoon to open a membership in person she didn't believe me. I don't like Costco anymore maybe when they have intelligent people working there it would be different But my experience with them tonight was horrible. This Costco is always a madhouse. The parking lot is always full at any time of the day, the store is always full of shoppers at any time of the day, and there's always long lines for a cashier or self-service. They are almost always out of the specific dog food I need. Still, my children love to go to Costco because of the samples, lol. I really wish Costco would get on board with a mobile check out or mobile order and pickup like Sam's Club has. read more

It's busy inside the store today, it's close to closing. We decided to skip shopping and opted for gas only today. Gas is $2.25, more than in MI, but cheaper compared to the $2.50 along our drive so far. It's Costco's policy to wear a mask while pumping, but no one is wearing a mask except for us. read more

On October 26 at around 7:30pm, I waited 30 minutes for my pizza, and the guy at the counter asked for my number. I told him, and he said there was just one pizza order ahead of mine. I watched that person get their pizza, but then another 15 minutes passed, and someone else got theirs before me. When I checked again, my pizza had been sitting on the shelf. I mentioned that no one had called my number, and he just responded, "Yes, we did," with no apology, no acknowledgment, and walked away. I even called after him, reminding him that he had asked for my number earlier, so he knew I had been waiting-- I mean by this time I have been standing in front of the counter for 40 minutes-- but he completely ignored me. That's some pretty crappy customer service. read more

I enjoy getting my steps while walking in Costco, such a great place for exercise and maintaining your health. Costco has become such an important part of my life, the hot dogs, the rotisserie chicken, the free snacks, the beef jerky, all those things are so critical to my week. Everything is so convenient here, the optical dept. (that'll be a separate review), the gas (that's in a separate review), the alcohol/wine/beer selection, K-cups, light bulbs, heck - it's all here, under one roof!!! Also, the auto dept. will inflate your tires (necessary during the winter season) and they will refuse a tip. I've tried many times, they flat out refuse and thank you for coming. The parking lot can become a bit crowded, but aside from that, and the lengthy line for the hot dogs, it's a fun time at Costco!!! read more

Love this location, the layout and the associates. We come here for everything and find that they're always helpful.Their wholesale prices can't be beat. Wide selection of food, appliances, home stuff, clothing etc..Beware though, their meat are blade tenderize, a big no no if you like to eat steaks rare/medium rare. We have purchased computers through diapers and tons of food. The snack choices are great and I appreciate the allergen free snacks for the kids lunches. We shop there 4-5 times per month and rarely have anything even remotely resembling a problem. They have really great variety of items, even when lines appear long they make them move quickly. We have been Costco members for years and have shopped at many Costcos. This by far was the worst. The layout of the store is so cramped. The aisles are so small it is difficult to maneuver a cart along with other shoppers. The store definitely needs more space. In the frozen section the aisles were lined with pallets of water. It is extremely congested. This was on a Saturday late afternoon, but it clearly could not accomodate the merchandise and customers. We actually walked out without purchasing anything due to the experience. read more

Don't use there countertop installation. The company The countertop factory of the midwest is awful. Delays in installation, holes in my tiles & walls. No apology, no follow up. Spent a lot of money for a new sink & countertop & now I have to spend more on repairs. read more

Wow. Just wow. The staff member Bushra who worked at the customer service totally wowed me today. Not in a good way though. Today's the last day before my Costco membership expires. I wasn't planning to renew it right away since my household didn't really need big amount of anything in the near future. I came in with Costco rewards certificate to redeem. It was $140 on the certificate. Bushra handled it and handed me $20 in cash telling me that she renewed my membership. She did not ask me if I wanted to renew my membership today at all. I told her I wasn't intending to do it today. She then asked me, seemed annoyed, "then what day?" And she tried to explain to me by saying "if I didn't renew it, I couldn't process the certificate." I got a sense that this process was a done deal on her side. And she explained again by showing me "on the rewards certificate, it states that the certificate's not redeemable in cash." Like she did me a big favor. Really?! Not sure how I would appreciate that favor by this odd level of customer service. I'm just stunned here with an "automatically" renewed membership not knowing when I would shop in Costco next time again. read more

Pros: it's Costco. I feel like the selection is more diverse than the Costco in Glenview. There's more asian snacks, teas, and food etc. that I'm always happily surprised to see. The food court gets crowded too, but we're always able to get a table and service is fast. Cons: Gets very busy on the weekends and lines get backed up. The employees seem to do their best with the crowds, but the size of the Costco is on the smaller side so the aisles are narrow. The churros suck, but they are particularly terrible here. read more
