We bought a suit for my husband for our daughter's wedding. We had a few issues that were a little stressful (a flaw in the fabric noticed by the seamstress when measuring it for alterations, and a delay in the re-order to replace it). But our salesperson, Pam, went above and beyond to make sure everything was corrected and expedited so that the alterations could be competed and the suit picked up in time for us to leave to go out of town for the wedding. Came in last Wednesday to purchase a suit. Before I talked to sales person looked around the store. Little overwhelming they have so many suits, sport coats, blazers. They also sell some ties, sweaters, shoes etc other accessories like cufflinks. Focus was on getting suit though. Salesperson was attentive, helpful. Doug was an absolute gent. From the moment I walked in the door he pointed me to exactly what I needed. When he was done helping another man he came over to me and asked about my suit. I needed some accessories to complete the suit. He laid out a suit similar to the one I had and helped me visualise and execute the perfect look. Doug didn't try to sell me on anything I didn't need. He asked what I was looking for and gave me all the options and his own personal recommendations for brands. I needed a suit for my son's wedding. Heard about the store but had never been in it before. At first I was taken back by the size of the store and the amount of cloths in it. I was immediately greeted and asked for some time to walk around. After a few moments of wandering with my eyes bulging out of my head I meet Tod. Tod showed me around the store and helped me find the perfect suit for my sons wedding. Then I walked around a bit more and found five perfect shirts in my size. Since first quarter 2020, I got serious with my daily steps and workouts and it resulted in a dramatic weight loss of more than 25 pounds. Which was great and dare I say this wouldn't have happened without COVID. But one issue that occurred is that my suits all were too big for me, plus my suits were from 2001. So, it was time to buy some new suits that fit me better. Don't laugh, from that time to this, - I landed 6 jobs with one particular 2001 suit. So that begs the question - Do the clothes make the man? Or does the man make the clothes? I think it's a little bit of both. I've been here over the years but on this last visit, there was great and attentive service. Plus, I got 3 suits at a really good deal. Like for the price of one really good suit!! And, they all fit really well, like the suits were tailored for me. Yes there was a large selection, a changing booth, friendly employees. FYI, the hemming of my pants was more expensive here so I took the pants to my regular dry cleaners instead. One minor thing, I was asked to show my drivers license when paying which was kinda odd. I thought, if I were going to steal some suits - I would have went with the higher end ($1,000 suits) stuff. So I don't know if I should have been offended for being asked for ID or for appearing to not have the taste to discern higher priced suits. read more

I have edited the review to remove the "Demeaning term" used for the "sales associate". Listen to this tale of childlike scorn: On top of everything below which was absolutely true in an act of petty scorn the store has called to "cancel" the already paid for suit to apparently teach me a lesson for reviewing the store knowing full well we have a wedding on Saturday. That is the type of people you will be dealing with. We spent three hours looking for suits for a wedding. The man was attempting to mark up my brother by charging him for a very expensive ill-fitting suit then having them in house tailor it for what would have been $200 in tailoring. I was able to save him by finding him an $80 perfectly fitting suit with minimal tailoring needed. I spent an hour finding my suit which was marked at $129. After tailoring and measuring they informed me at the counter that my suit was $300. They said "they didn't know how the tag got on my suit." They would not honor the price. Makes me sick. On top of it all the place was a damn mess. They MADE US TAKE OFF OUR shirts and wear their sample shirts. Never again. read more

There were plenty of parking outside. We went around Saturday around 11AM and it seemed to be pretty packed. We both never bought a suit before on our own so we just started looking around since it seemed like everyone was busy helping someone else. After browsing around for 10mins or so with 2 suit options in hand, we were fortunate enough that Ira found us and asked us if we needed help. After looking at what we picked, he said was able to give us great expertise in custom sizing and what would fit for my fiancé. I gave him our color options and he was able to quickly find a set that worked perfectly for my fiancé. We were actually in a rush to get to an appointment afterwards and we were able to find the suit, try it on, and purchase it within 20 minutes. Jim Kupper was my excellent, helpful, and very competent salesman and measured me up and found 3 off-the-rack black suits to try. One was perfect with no alterations needed, in my opinion, ha, and pretty much in Jim's as well. The suits I saw were all synthetic material, and therefore on the more economical side, and just what I wanted. It's been years, but it was nice to get measured and professionally sized up for the best available off-the-rack suit. Ages ago, I experienced top of the line custom tailoring for suits and shirts in Hong Kong, so I know the process for a tip-top perfect fit from the best, but Suits 20/20 will do an excellent job for your off-the-rack needs. I was guided through each one of my experiences by Ira, and if he could make me look good he can make anyone look good! I have recommended Suits 20/20 to all of my friends and even had my groomsmen get their tuxes there (with rental prices being as high as they are now, buying one from this place is the way to go!). They have a tailor in house that got all of my suits and shirts tailored just right. They also have some nice men's casual/business clothing there too. Good prices on high end older suits. They fall down on service and follow through. Bought a suit at last sale and they got the price wrong by $30.00 on a $400.00 suite. They asked me to come in so they could correct the sale. I decided to return the suit. They were rude and let me know if they already tailored the suit, I might have to take it. The suit was not tailored and they took the suit back and refunded my credit card. Unfortunately, due the return they treated like I was trying to rip them off. Child like attitude for an established retailer. I spent thousands there in the past. Why couldn't they handle the situation like mature adults? read more

Went shopping for a suit with my partner , and was assisted by Simi. Off back, He wasn't the most friendliest and when budget was discussed. He told my partner , He was buying a "plastic suit " where He would be uncomfortable instead of advising us with the best selection for our money. Eventually we ended up venturing to on our own. When He did catch up to us, and I had casually mentioned the pants being too large and He made yet another comment in a know-it-all manner. Thank you Reddit! We knew we weren't doing the traditional tux and white dress when we got married. I had already found a dress and we needed to get a suit for my husband. Our friend made a recommendation, but I was a little concerned by the mixed reviews, so I started Googling. If you've never perused the mens fashion Reddits, you should. We've found great recommendations from everything from boxers to shoes on it. Suits was no different, I found a conversation for suits in Chicago and guy after guy chimed in about Suits 20/20 and Yelp backed them up. Husband used to work a few blocks away from here and never really noticed it. We took a ride up one weekend and in under 90 minutes, he had picked out a suit, belt and shoes and was measured for tailoring. We came back the following week with my dress, so we could decide on a shirt, tie and pocket square. We went back again, when he needed to have the tailoring adjusted slightly and picked up a few casual shirts too. The selection and prices here are fantastic and the salesmen really know their stuff. He spent a bit over $400 on everything and looked like a million bucks. Everyone complimented how nice he looked in his suit. Like I said in my previous review I have driven by Suits 20/20 so many times in the past years on my way either north or south on Cauldwell. The first time I stopped by was in June 2016 during their annual tent sale where great deals abound. Gentlemen and even if you aren't a gentleman and want to save some money on men's clothes stop on in. They have name designers if that's what your into. Me personally I get with I perceive to be good looking and stylish. I bought a beautiful grey suit with a slightly metallic sheen to it that is not only good looking, but inexpensive. It is a Kenneth Cole suit that was only $109 + tax. More recently on Sunday 11/27/16 I was here again on Sunday looking for either a suit or tuxedo, something that could be used for my upcoming Christmas party & double up for a late formal event or even a funeral (black). Since the tent sale is only in June I went into the store and quickly realized that Suits 20/20 has a whole array of men's clothes, everything from suits, tuxedos, shirts, slacks, shoes, belts, ties & accessories much less then then the big box stores like Carsons or Macy's. Jim the salesman was very helpful and he helped me pick out a number of tuxes and suits to try on. I ended up selecting a black 3 piece suit as opposed to a tuxedo as it is much more functional for multiple events. The suit I selected is basically the same as the tuxedo minus the vertical stipe down the outside pants leg on both sides. This 3 piece cost $120 + tax. The pants length needed to be altered to fit for an additional $9. The suit I bought last summer needed to have the pants length brought down about an inch so I'm not wearing flood pants. Jim told me to bring it in at NO charge. When I went in to pick them up today I saw a number of ties on the counter at the register that wer being marked down to $7. This really caught my eye because I was at Carsons and Macy's looking for a tie to match my new outfits (accessorize). It doesn't matter that I have about 25-30 ties in the closet I only wear about 1/2 dozen regularly and wanted something for a new look that matched my 2 suits. I was informed that they had the discounted tie racks in the back so I went to find a bargain. There are 3 racks with several hundred ties and I was able to find 3 that will match up with my new black suit, grey suit, navy blue blazer or brown suit. I was just as happy as could be to find 3 beautiful new ties for 1 of the 40% discounted prices ties at Carsons and Macy's. I mean really if you have no problem throwing your money away then by all means go to the big box stores, but me personally I don't like to spend more money for the same item. Even the discount retail stores like TJ Max or Marshalls carry discounted ties, but the selection is very limited. In addition to suits they carry a whole line of men's casual clothes, dress shirts, dress shoes (at a discounted price), belts, ties.... I found my new go to store for suits and dress shoes the next time I need them. I was in the store on 3/23/24 ready to spend $2,000 or more and I could not get one person to help me. I know Saturday is a busy day, but 20 minutes without a simple can I help you is a bit strange. Many sales people saw me and although they were busy with other customers they made no attempt to alert someone that I may have needed some help. I am a senior person at a very large financial institution and I like to look nice. Unfortunately I won't be wearing clothes from this establishment. By far the best men clothing store for business/ formal wear. A real sizable selection. I don't think there is a bigger men formal wear store than this for most of the northern suburbs. Their prices are still incredible fair when there is a sale. It's surprising that they have a lot of affordable options. I would recommend people to come here if you need a suit, tux.
