Only writing because the staff here is rude and judging. Me and my friend were checking out the furniture set in the front by sitting on the chairs of the set when a staff came out and told us not to sit there. Once we got up she accused us of scratching up the table when we just sat down. She told us this set is expensive (was only $400) to sit on when I've seen some other people sit on the furniture here before. She then called other staff to move the furniture away from us. read more

Perpetual incompetence at this Morton Grove Homegoods makes me avoid shopping here. Were this just an occasional problem, I would not bother to write a review but this store's staff stands out among its Homegoods peers as setting the bar very low. Too bad the service is so poor. I've come here for so many things but my favorite aisle is the Clearance aisle - you can get a lot of discounted stuff - snacks, plates, cups, things for the kitchen - all on sale!! As a result, I have a lot of plates that don't match. :) But I do have plates that were made in Europe and it's hard to get those at a discount. My other favorite things here are scone mix, cookies, wafers, kcups, Jam and jellies, etc. On one occasion, I was able to get a high end rug really cheap. This location is really busy and successful. read more

I decided to upgrade my kitchen. So I need new kitchen tools and equipment. I came here this morning and there were a lot of cars in the parking lot. Gladly there are some vacant spaces to park my car. When I entered I took one cart and went to the kitchen utensils. I grab pork and spoon, knife, spatula, whisk, and many more. I also bought a glass of wine, a cup and plates. After that I went to the kitchen and purchased cooking tools. I also bought a rice cooker since I don't know how to cook rice on a stove. After that I decided to buy a plant vase so I can put it in my kitchen tables. I only bought 3 of them with a simple plant. After I purchased everything I went to the counter and paid for it. read more

I love shopping at the Home goods. You can find good stuff here at good prices. Some junk you got to be careful. I wish they would manage the crowds better though. Sometimes it gets way too crowded here. I actually like this location. I've always found cute things . I saw a woman buy a cool mod chair with gold hardware and wished there was one for me !  I went on opening day as well a few months ago and the only bad thing was the insane parking garage traffic! There's plenty of parking and products inside. Decorations and also useful things for the everyone! And I really recommended this store of the home goods. read more

Disorganized kitchen section. Lousy customer service and safety concerns. I usually go there to buy things for the kitchen. I went to the cutting boards aisle and the shelves were so overloaded that they looked like they were about to break and everything to come down, possibly hurting someone. No safety inspection done by employees. There is a small section of cutlery and I've noticed an empty box of $100 Japanese chef's knife that must have been stolen. Obviously it wasn't secured properly. Loss prevention is non existent. Then there's the end cap top glass shelf overloaded with bottles of cocktail mixers that looked like they were about to slide and fall down and hit someone's head. While standing in check out line waiting to be called, there's 4 women cashiers (including the manager) chatting and laughing in foreign language having a good time, failing to notice me. Very rude. Regional manager needs to come to this location and take a good look at how this store is run. read more

Where do I even begin. There's always something sunny funny and extravagant in this store. Makes you want to seriously outline a potential change in atmosphere of your home and refresh your living room kitchen bath bathrooms laundry rooms and basement. The hunt for a deal is fun and here it's always a win win for everyone. I'm finding a lot more interesting and worthy product for its price. Cleaner store. Friendlier and better trained staff. About a 2-2.5: This HomeGoods is located off of a plaza on Dempster, and it's actually one of my least favorite locations. While they do offer a very limited selection on furniture, rugs, lighting fixtures, mirrors, bedding, bath products, dining options, kitchen essentials, and pet accessories/snacks, the store just seems to be in massive chaos! Items in both the regular-saled and clearance sections are super disorganized; in addition, there are more items here that are either opened & taped up than the other HG locations. I've been here a few times to look for specific German-made pots that I found a few years ago, but they do not carry those items anymore (as they constantly change depending on the trend). I did find some decent greeting cards and picked up some gift cards along the way. On a side note, the aisles are a bit difficult to maneuver, especially if you have your cart with you, as they are super narrow (I just park it in the main aisle, instead of taking it with you). Staff here are also a little MIA, so you have to usually go up to the cashier to flag one down or to inquire about certain items. +limited selection of offerings +unorganized items on regular-saled and clearance sections +MIA staff members read more

Loved this location. It's very nice and clean. The employees are helpful as well. There's a lot of variety in this store. You will definitely walk out with some purchase even if you come in to window shop! Would definitely recommend this place! Oh and yes, there is lots of parking! read more

Stressful, unorganized and crowded are the adjectives I use to describe this HomeGoods location. I came here because I had a gift card. The aisles are far too narrow in this store given all of the merchandise and customers milling about. You can barely get two carts down an aisle at the same time. I found myself backing up a lot to get out of the way or to let other customers pass me. Forget about taking your time to look at the 'goods'; this in an 'in-and-out' kinda store because of the pushing and shoving. I found a couple of decently priced items (worthy of my 2 star review), but I didn't linger like I might at other locations. This store was very unorganized (imo), empty carts in the aisles, food in the pet department, an old/used Dunkin' Donuts cup on a shelf in the clearance aisle, messy displays and employees that walk passed you with dazed and confused looks on their faces. My cashier appeared very friendly at first, but at the end of my transaction she merely passed my receipt across the counter and said...wait for it...nothing. No eye contact was made and no customary "thank-you for shopping with us." I said "thank you" to her and still...nothing. Sheesh. This was my first time at this H.G. and I'll likely never be back. This experience reiterates why I enjoy online shopping so much. I recommend making the trip to the HomeGoods in Schaumburg. It'll be well worth your drive. read more

I would have given this store 4 stars. They had a lot of nice items and it reminds me of an upgraded emporium. However the workers lack self awareness of customer service. It was a Tuesday in the afternoon. It could have been Black Friday. The lines looped twice around the aisles. No employee or supervisor did anything to move the line. I'm all for a bargain, but this place sucks. Unless you know what you're looking for specifically, it was a zoo in this place. The aisles are small to try to navigate thru with a shopping cart, and everything has been picked through and there's stuff on the floors. Too many tzchech-kees and gaudy stuff for my liking in here. I couldn't manage to find one decent item to put in my cart, other than a set of six colored wine classes for $9.99. Egh ... I prefer Target any day! read more

Thanks to HGTV, I can re-design each room in my home for a reasonable price. Wish there was one in the city, but just so I had more than one to go to. I found an amazing credenza for $299 that is easily sold at PB or CB for over $1000. There selection of children's room furnishing's and gifts makes it a perfect place to bend to the trends or get a gift every time one of your friends gets knocked up! If only they delivered....but oh! there's a TJ MAXX just down the strip mall, so it's really a 2 for 1! read more

I LOVE this store, I will take any opportunity to browse this store, I can't get enough of this store, I don't want to miss any hidden treasure...it's a home decorator's dream...but my husband's nightmare. It just so happens I'm re-decorating my house...swooooon! Brands that are carried at specialty boutiques, Bed, Bath & Beyond, kitchen stores, Macy's and offered at much, much lower prices! Great selection. Unique Halloween decorations. Relatively neat. Super easy parking. Helpful staff. My latest treasure...a leopard print BIG dog bed for $15. They lose one star because of the check-out clerk who I refer to as the "Tissue-Paper Nazi"...I bought some glass items and requested extra tissue because I heard them already "clinking" in the bag...she told me "I already gave you TWO pieces of tissue an item."....I replied "Yes, I know, I need more please." She obliged me....I'll be back, and hopefully avoid her. read more

HomeGoods is the FIRST place I go when looking for anything for my home or garden. It is also the FIRST place I take design clients when starting any new project. The stock changes frequently, so it's best to go on a regular basis. I like to keep a list of items I'm on the lookout for (for myself and clients) - it's rare that I don't walk away with some unique piece, in the perfect color, at the perfect price (LOW, Low, low). An example: a client had fallen in love with a rug from Company C - a $3,000 rug. I happened upon it at HomeGoods for less than $300 - it was the final touch they needed in their newly decorated condo, pulling everything together in perfect harmony and for a 10th of the retail price. Rugs are just one category of super fantastic deals. HomeGoods lamp selection is usually pretty extensive - I have found gorgeous lamps, crystal, wood, traditional and contemporary - AND always at a fraction of retail price (a decent lamp usually runs $40-$50 here - as opposed to over $200 at a department store.) I buy all my table top here - lovely table linens, serving pieces, glasses, etc. They carry every kitchen gadget you could imagine (of course, it is not consistent - so you need to buy something when you see it because they are populating the store with overruns that when they are gone-they are gone.) I could be a poster child for HomeGoods - write another 1000 words on the diversity of products and how successful I have been in always finding that perfect gift, set of sheets, inspiration, accent chair, etc...but, better you should go and check it out for yourself. Found a few really great pieces at this location including a cocktail table and large mirror. The cashier was extremely rude and offered the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I asked if the store had adequate materials to wrap the glass and she responded that she would place wrapping paper inside a large bag and put the glass top inside???? WTF? Seriously? I explained that what she offered was ridiculous I advised her to just leave the tape and paper for me to wrap the glass properly. After 5 minutes, the manager spotted me taping the glass and jumped right in to help. I told her what the cashier did as a half ass attempt to rush and get me out of the store. Keep in mind that I spent $500 on heavy quality items that were being loaded into my car. I literally watched another cashier spend 10 minutes wrapping a $10 piggy bank for the couple in front of me. Goes to show that if you're White or Asian you'll receive quality customer service. Boycott! read more

I absolutely love this store. I managed to get a huge samsonite suitcase for $40, huge bloomingdale's towels for $10, and lots more. Home Goods is owned by TJMaxx/Marshall's company and so it sells the left overs from other stores. You can find one of a kind tchotchke, sheets, blankets, kitcheware, rugs, furniture, anything your heart desires. the customer service is really friendly and they will help you in any way possible. This is a great way to stock your house, unless you need something in specific. read more

Home Goods has signs posted requiring masks but staff are not enforcing mask requirement, putting staff and customers in harm's way. Our concerns were basically shrugged off ... I headed in here with a specific item in mind. I walked out with some fabulous additions to my household decor, still searching for the specific piece. What did I find and purchase? A plethora of throw pillows that match my strange and hard to find living room color scheme. I also found an incredibly well made, well priced, good sized round mirror (hung on a thick braided rope) accent piece. Seriously! This was $25.00 and is cute as can be!! It was not in the mirror section but tucked away on a display shelf. Sometimes my friends, you must search! In the miscellaneous category, I also picked up an Oxo vegetable steamer to try as it's always nice to try something new! I've heard that the Homegoods in the western burbs has the item I want. This HomeGoods is one of the ones we affectionately refer to as "the GOOD HomeGoods." I love that it is separate from TJ Maxx (there is a TJ Maxx in the same strip a few storefronts down.) Parking is a little rough, the spots and lanes are narrow. So, make sure you have plenty of trunk space for the amount of damage you're about to do! Confession: I've been to this HomeGoods twice in three days. On the one day I wasn't at this HomeGoods, I was at another "good" one. Can you tell I just moved? This particular location has the best selection of lamps and throw pillows I have ever seen. I mean, the selection on everything is great, but this is really where I made a killing. New throw pillows for the couch and chair (the ones that came with the furniture originally looked like FUGLY Bill Cosby sweaters.), table lamps for the bedroom, a new shower curtain, some cute Halloween decor (I have a thing for owls recently,) a new cast-iron skillet, a new trash can for the kitchen. This HomeGoods is the jam. I will have to restrain myself from going back for ALL THE THINGS. read more

HomeGoods is the BEST! I had to return some items that I received as gifts. I was hesitant to make the drive to Morton grove and I'm so thrilled that I did!! It's must have been my day to go! The aisles were exceptionally neat although small. The displays were so inviting I almost forgot I had to return items! Sam was simply FANTASTIC! His customer service was AMAZING! He not only helped me with my return he also suggested an item that went perfectly with another item I was returning so instead of returning 4 items I only had to return 2 of them. I left out of there in a great mood and satisfied that I had made the journey to that store! Thank you Sam and HomeGoods for a wonderful shopping experience! My favorite location up until they transferred a manager over from Elston Bucktown Chicago store. Honestly, every single time I run into this manager I just have the most unpleasant vibe from her. She not only is rude I had very bad experiences with her and I work in retail and I'm beyond shocked this women still holds a position there. I specifically would avoid going to the Elston Homegoods store because of the bad experiences there and my favorite location was Dempster Homgoods but I guess not anymore. Great selection of all kinds of decorator items. Very good prices. I suspect most of the merchandise may be seconds from other stores so check your stuff thoroughly before you buy it. (I've found flaws in rugs, scratches on pictures, cracked frames on mirrors, etc. etc.) If the item is damaged they won't discount more than 10% so you need to figure out if you still want to pay 90% for a damaged item. Plus the store can be unusually messy with things piled on top of other stuff. It's kind of like a white elephant sale in some ways. Tends to be crowded. New stuff comes in every Thursday. If you're a decorator, this is an excellent resource--AND there is now a store in Chicago on Elston Avenue. read more

My favorite store ever, but by far the best home goods in the area- always clean and not cluttered! New things come in and out of here every day. This is Marshall's/TJMaxx's store for household stuff only. They have a rather nice selection, particularly of accent pieces, towels, and picture frames. Like all such places, quality is not bad but not top notch and don't expect the same items to be around continuously. Sometimes you will find nothing here but other times you'll find a treasure.
