I will not return due to the arrogance and microaggressions of the employees. I know my high end designer brands. I own high end designer brands. I do not always go shopping dressed to the nines. Esp to a consignment store sidewalk sale. An employee rolled her eyes when I asked her about the pricing on one of the items. No need for the attitude. While my daughter was waiting to check out, another employee approached a woman standing behind her to take her to a register. That customer asked my daughter if she wanted to go with the employee. That was classy and kind. The employee actually stammered and point my daughter to a register and proceeded to walk the customer to personally ring her up. Needless to say, we will never come back. There are better resale stores on the North Shore: across the street is the YWCA resale, KMK Luxury in Winnetka, Junior League in Evanston, New to You in Glenview, Winnetka Thrift Shop are just a few. Everyone at all those stores are respectful and kind.

A seemingly completely unlimited selection of whatever you never thought you needed but now cannot live without. Upon discovering Nadeau, we found many pieces here that we love and make our home shine! How it works is that they'll have tons of pieces that are constantly rotating, I think often made from salvaged wood in India. Here are some tips we encountered: - Check the pieces carefully - make sure drawers or doors open and close well, and you may want to think about how things close. Some use a hook mechanism which can be tedious for a cabinet you use a lot. We made sure to get one with a magnetic closure. - Nadeau can put you in touch with freelancers who can deliver the furniture for you. Or you can rent a Uhaul and do it yourself! - They do have a very specific set of styles - when we went, it was a lot of mid-century modern, intricately carved stuff, and distressed paint. So it may not fit all styles. - Check their Instagram and join their mailing list! That way you can see their latest shipments and claim anything that catches your eye. Happy shopping!

We bought a beautiful dresser three years ago for ~$1000. It had everything we wanted in our price range, enough drawers for both of us, gorgeous details on the outside, that millennial grey color that we love, no complaints. Amazing service at the store. Within a few months, one of the handles snapped off one of my drawers. Then another. Nbd, someone is giving away really good drawer pulls in my local Buy Nothing group. Problem solved. Fast forward about a year, my bottom drawer breaks on the frame. No problem, I pick up a few wood screws from a friend and repair it myself. Now, about a year later, the front panel on one of the smaller drawers has come completely off on the left side, and I can't repair it. Over the three years we've had this dresser, it has slowly been breaking down in new and frustrating ways. And though the folks who work at Nadeau are really friendly people, that "all sales final rule" can and will bite you in the butt. But hey if I ever want to become an Airbnb landlord who pays as little money as possible for instagram-pleasing furnishings, this is the place. Edit- I lived in NYC when I created my yelp account over ten years ago. I never bothered to change my location until now (probably because I didn't know that was a thing!) Nadeau messaged me saying no one from the store recalls ever speaking with me- my husband called Nadeau about the drawers. Seeing as it was several months ago that he called, and his name isn't Holly, I wouldn't expect anyone to remember the call! Get some things on the cheap. They also have a few sales each week. Basically it looks like a typical small thrift store, but the difference is the quality of what they have. It's mostly clothes, and a few knickknacks. There's also home goods like glasses and plates. Clothes aren't falling apart like at some places that are cheaper. The service is also friendly. Get here for some good finds and fairly cheap. It's a little more expensive than Goodwill but it's better quality. There's something to get as a gift or for yourself.
