We spent almost $100 here on our first visit!

I love the convenience in dropping off items to donate here. You simply pull up (or wait in line to pull up) and someone comes to your vehicle and removes your items. They provide receipts for tax purposes also. Today my daughter and I were out thrifting and decided to actually go in and look around. We loved this store! It's neat, clean and very well organized. Much nicer than the goodwill near our house. I have no idea how we spent almost $100 (!) but we did, in under an hour. The cashier was very nice and encouraged me to join the rewards program, which I gladly did. Can't wait to go back!

This is one of my favorite places to thrift. It's clean, organized and has such a great selection. Pro tip: sign up for their free rewards system.

We went to the Goodwill store to donate a few items that we no longer use. I figure rather then just tossing it someone may find a need or use for it. You know what they say "ONE MAN'S JUNK IS ANOTHER MAN'S TREASURE". Like any Goodwill store you need to sort through a lot of items to get some good deals. Some of the stores in the affluent neighborhoods get a better inventory because of the locations in more upscale neighborhoods. I even found a nice navy blue Ralph Lauren suit coat for $5 at a different Goodwill Store. This store at 5518 W Touhy in Skokie is pretty new as is the development around it. We got a chance to check it out a few days ago and found that they don't have as many nuggets as some of the other stores. I usually get my books from Goodwill as they are $0.99 for paperback, but like anything else you need to search to find a good deal. I did find a few dvd's that I haven't see before for $1.99 a piece.

This location is so well organized. I can't get over how neat this store is over the other locations. I was expecting a wild and untamed crowd. I have to take off one point, because this place did not have a lot of treasures. I went to book section hoping to find some great reads, and I didn't find anything. I went into the home good section, and I didn't find anything. I went over to the men's department and I found some decent shirts. I have to give this place 4 stars just because of the neatness, tidiness, and organization.

Nice and quick place if you want to drop off your items at a convenient and very luxurious like pick up and drop off area.

I love thrifting and buying second hand and was so excited to see a new option close to me. I slipped my plans for Thrifty Thrift in with some other errands on a Sunday. They are open 12-5 on Sundays and it was between 12pm and 1pm that I stopped by. They had a sign out on the sidewalk that said they had parking, but I'm not sure what parking is actually for them. I parked in a lot that was just East of the store (the direction I was traveling). It had snowed in the few days prior to my visit and Thrifty Thrift did not have any of the sidewalk in front of it's store shoveled or salted. I'm not sure if it's not required or they think customers won't appreciate it or maybe I just happened to be by on a day that they didn't have enough staff to get it done, I'm not sure. Inside this store feels very much like a cross between a flea market stand and a small second hand store. It's relatively tight inside with all available space used. Every surface has more items available. There are clothes racks in the back, they are too tight for 2 people to look at the same row at once. This is a place that somehow felt like it had so much and nothing all at once. If you're a thrifter, this is definitely a spot you need to dig through and if you find what you're looking for it was exactly perfect and if you didn't find what you were looking for, then you found nothing. IYKYK. There was one man working at the front, and I was greeted. He was not overbearing and did not speak to me again, and I did not have any questions to ask. I didn't purchase anything on this stop so can't speak to overall price of items. I'm not sure this will be a stop for me regularly, but if you're looking for a particular thrifted good, this could definitely be an option. I do always appreciate a non-corporate option for second hand buying. Thank you, Thrifty Thrift!

I think they're a fairly new establishment which opened over a year ago. I've gone twice in the past month. The prices are crazy excellent where you can find quality clothes if you dig deep enough. Clothes are available for all sexes and age ranges. They don't just sell clothes either. There's a good variety of things for sale like basic housewares, accessories, music, movies and comic books. I even saw a few items like tool sets, a set of golf clubs and a vintage Nintendo Cube set for sale. On both occasions, I spent an hour here and never left empty-handed. Look out for their 50% color tag sales that are generally offered daily. That's where you'll find the biggest savings. The only downside is that they don't have a dedicated changing room but they offer their single occupancy bathroom as their changing room. Disclaimer, the bathroom/changing room did not smell pleasant. It had a strong sewage stench. Hopefully their bathroom sitch gets fixed with time. At least they offer poo spray in the bathroom. If you have a sensitive nose, you may want to avoid. Another disclaimer - All items are final sale. They give no returns and no store credit is offered. They accept cash and card payments. There is free parking in the public lot to the right of the store. Currently open Tuesday - Sunday but check Yelp or call for their store hours. Happy shopping!

I'll be honest -- I was pleasantly surprised to visit, but not necessarily because of the items. When the store first opened that morning, it was already pretty messy. Compared to other Goodwill locations I've visited, this one felt much less organized. The store itself was clean, but the racks were chaotic. Clothes were hanging off the racks or scattered, and several employees walked past without straightening things up, which was a little frustrating. I'm used to Goodwills having neat aisles where you can browse comfortably, and this one just didn't have that same level of organization. That said, I do want to give credit where it's due. One employee who stood out was Yareli, the cashier. I wanted to buy an item that required an electrical component, and she was kind enough to go through the electrical section to see if she could find the piece I needed. She couldn't locate it, but when I mentioned that I had the part in my car, she kindly allowed me to step outside and retrieve the piece I needed and ahe held the item at the front. I went out to my car, got the adaptor and came back and tested it, and the light worked perfectly. That small act of kindness really made the experience better. To Yareli's manager: that's exactly how an employee wins over customers -- through patience, kindness, and genuine helpfulness. Prices are a little higher at thia location, but still competitive.

When they bring a new cart, the same people everyday who hang out waiting for the carts push their way in, grab items, throw it in their carts and later put them back. They literally push people out of the way, it's rude and greedy. Manager said they are aware of the practice and it's within their right to be the first, and return things they don't want. If it happens to me I should report it. Nope, they should stop this kind of behavior, it shouldn't be acceptable behavior to a store with a cause to help people, and just as importantly it can result in a very bad outcome if someone responds violently, don't wait till happens, stop it now, nor should Goodwill become a hangout for these people, who are not shopping otherwise. You must have rules for safety of your customers.
