Omg this place was awesome! We tried three pizzas and all were amazing. Don't be afraid when you read orbit butter or blue berries as toppings! read more

Excellent neighborhood pizza spot. It's small but has a few outdoor tables. Loved being able to bring our own (outstanding) beer. Server was super friendly. The Caesar salad was excellent. There are a ton of creative pizza options in addition to fries/poutine with a variety of toppings, as well as subs. We had the Hannibal and it was outstanding- crispy and loaded with meat toppings. Good pizza is easy to find in this area but this place definitely has its niche. I will be back. read more

Updating to 5 stars. They've improved a lot since opening. The wings have gotten a lot better, especially that sriracha honey garlic sauce. Yum! Some of the prices are weird, to the point where I almost thing it's a better value to order a personal pie. That may just be wrong anecdotal info though. Either way, I'm happy they are down the block from me and the service is super friendly and personal. So much nicer than any of the big 3 pizzerias in New Haven. read more

I ordered a basic mozzarella pie as this is the standard I measure all pies by. It was excellent, as good as any in New Haven...but then again there are a number of pizza spots just as good. Tiny spot and if you can get in, the ambiance is charming. BYOB is nice. True Brooklyn style neighborhood pizzeria. read more

Holy moly! What a fantastic meal. The pizza was great. We got the Brussel sprouts pizza and the King (peanut butter on pizza! Do it!) The poutine is about as good as it gets! Highly, highly recommended. Also, it is BYOB!! read more

A&A special made my quality of life better. We travel 20 miles for these pies any day. Family owned and operated, super clean and friendly. read more

One 6 Three - A&A special and mashed potato. My goodness - Pizza Near Me - New Haven, Connecticut

Best pizza in New Haven. Great ambiance and even better food. Love the staff and the BYOB vibe. Modern Pizza has nothing on One 6 Three!

I'll amend that last one based on the second data point. Picked up a Margherita pizza to-go tonight. Asked for Xtra mozz, which I was charged ~$3 for. Showed up exactly on time. Pizza was cold and was only the standard light blob of mozz or less per piece. Not that they don't have good potential product but super sloppy this time around. read more

Consistently awesome pizza. The Scamp (shrimp) and the Brussels (brussel, bacon, balsamic) are highly recommended. If you sit down there to eat, the check is not brought to you and you'll need to go to the register to pay. read more

Great portions, awesome food. The place is a little small so you may have to wait, but it's totally worth it!

Such a sweet little neighborhood spot! They have great pizza and sandwiches, and (when they're open and it's not a pandemic) the space is super cozy. read more

First, I have to disagree with the general opinion that New Haven has great Pizza. Modern and Pepe do not classify as what I understand as good Pizza. However, if anything comes close to a proper Pizza it is the one at One 6 Three. Thin crust, great sugo. read more

Lost power after a storm and had to stay in an unfamiliar town. Checked yelp n found this place who had a really fun menu. Ordered a couple of pizzas n they were great! Person who took order was very polite and genuinely kind. Delivery was to a hotel and delivery person was very professional and caring. Even though this pizza place is quite away from my home I may consider taking the ride to pick up because the entire experience was fantastic!! read more

To be fair, this place doesn't claim to accommodate vegans, but at this point, with us vegans becoming more and more prevalent, it is wise to have some options. The place has several vegetarian options - veggies pizzas, salads, and 3 sandwiches. For a vegan, the only real option is to get one of those 3 and ask them to hold the cheese, which really just leads to a little bit of greens on bread, which is what I had. Honestly, I don't mind sauteed greens on tasty bread, but is that a lunch? Seriously, I'm asking. It was delicious, but this is coming from a woman who ate ketchup on bread growing up by choice, so perhaps my judgement is skewed. I would love for this joint to have options specifically for vegans in the future. If you are in the area and need a vegan lunch, it's best to go elsewhere. read more

The pizza is delicious and the customer service is amazing. Highly recommend to everyone who loves pizza !

I have just tried one of their pies. I can say that they have the best crust in the town. Thin, crusty, well baked and have a good balance with toppings. I will definitely try their other pies. read more

A bad first impression... I ordered online (which was super easy and convenient off of their website). I paid, as well. I got an email confirmation and was told to wait for a second email, confirming pick-up time. I waited 15 minutes. I became a bit worried that the order (including my payment) had been lost, as most pizza places only take 15 minutes to MAKE the pizza. And this is no competitor notoriety-wise to the nearby joints. So, I called. Someone answered and told me they'd put me on hold but hung up on me. No problem. I've accidentally done that to people too. I called back. I called again. This time I was put on hold right away. Then hung up on. Hm, okay. At that point it's a bit much. I called a third time. They disconnected their phone. This was no longer an accident, and that's the problem. I'd paid already. No email. No one willing to speak to me. I got the email about 15 minutes out and was told to expect a half an hour wait. I recognize that this is from the bitterness of being so deliberately ignored, but Uber Eats could've been faster or at least on par with that estimation. (Thirty minutes pass) I go to pick up my food. I can't immediately tell who is working the front desk. The worker emerges and is abrasive--surprisingly so, but I guess I should have guessed based on the DISCONNECTING of the phone. I wait 10 minutes before they *start* making my food. The pizza was like a soft bread. Not at all what typical New Haven pizza is like. It was stingy with the toppings. Fine overall, but no stand out (and that's without the customer service). I don't know that I'd return to give this place another try. read more

The "breaking my meatballs" pizza is sooooo good. That was a great and unexpected surprise. I'm glad to have a new favorite pizza place in the neighborhood. read more

Such a great local pizza spot. Breaking my meatballs is their best pie and their salads are on point too. Love the outdoor seating as well.

Wow. Just WOW. on business trip and this place was close by our air b&b so we walked to it and tried it. Wowza. Had the Garden Maze, white birch soda, and fried Oreos. Best choice so far in our food selection this trip! read more

Best vegetarian pizza in New Haven, hands down. Friendly service too! Good to see a new brick and mortar location for these folks.

i was reaaaaaally skeptical when this place first was opening up. there seems to be a handful of new pizza places in a city that takes it probably more seriously than we should. that, coupled with a bunch of good restaurants in very close walking distance... so i was like, man, they better bring their A game. they did! we've been here once & had delivery once. service was very friendly! & prompt both times. they have a byob option, so it was a nice walk to dinner & relaxing night outside. the meatball appetizer was great, caesar salad was very fresh & the homemade croutons tasty. the pizza is delicious, crust perfectly crispy & chewy at the same time, & lots of options. the only thing i might do in the future is err on ordering a more vegetable-heavy pizza, making my own up, because the two specialty pies we got were a little light on the green things that were fundamental to why we ordered them (but honestly this is my own mental tick as the greens help soothe my ever so slight guilt over pizza for dinner) but they still tasted great, so keep it up! welcome to the neighborhood! read more

Absolutely delicious. I got the basic Margherita pizza. Best sauce I've had in memory ... mysteriously delicious. Nice crispy wood fired crust. Sparing use of fresh mozzarella--the sauce is the star. And so very good. I got in a bit after lunch, friendly heartfelt attention from the owner (?) who clearly loves what he makes and is full of well-deserved pride. Really really great! read more

The atmosphere is amazing, and the staff is fun and attentive. You can tell they truly love their work. Ive tried their Mashed Potato Pie (creamy mashed potatoes with bacon and scallions, so hearty and tasty), the Bleu (Buffalo Chicken with Bleu Cheese, just the right zing to it) and the Memphis (My personal favorite, a homemade BBQ sauce pie with freshly cooked pulled pork or pulled chicken topped with blueberries - a great and unique addition to the pie) and loved every one! Woodfire pizza just outside the heart of New Haven is a MUST try. You wont be disappointed! read more

Came to Connecticut looking for some good new haven style pizza. My husband raved about how we had to go try some, so we decided on one six three. Thank god we did! So good! We actually came two days in a row it was that tasty. The first day we started off with hush puppies and the candy bacon. Then we each got a personal pizza-mashed potatoes, Hannibal, the king and the Memphis. I have to say get the mashed potatoes pizza, it's unlike anything I've ever tasted. Well worth it! My husband and cousin loved the king (basically peanut butter and jelly pizza). Second day we came I brought my family. (They are hard to please they are from NY and take pizza seriously). We got wings Siracha honey garlic wings and hush puppies to start off. They were that good we got them again. Then for our meals-Cubano sandwich, A&A chicken cutlet sandwich, the blue pizza, chicken and waffles, A&A special pizza. Everything was amazing! My mom didn't want to share her chicken and waffles......The Cuban sandwhich was filled with meat and one of the best I've had (from south florida). I know my Cuban sandwiches. Then to finish off the fried Oreos. Ughhh soft little pillows! Overall this place is amazing, they have lots of different things to try and experiment with. The service is on point and the staff is very attentive! Go stop by and get some delicious food! read more

Great pizza and amazing wings. Place itself has a very cool atmosphere and is fun to dine in.

Wonderful pizza made with fresh ingredients, and their sauce is spot on: a little tangy, lots of umami. The owners are ridiculously nice and gracious, too. And spoil yourself with a batch of fried Oreos while you're there, you won't regret it (maybe your waistline will, but your tastebuds will not)! read more

The area has been lacking in a restaurant. Those without a car are at a loss for going out to eat quickly or during the dead of winter. There's one more expensive Italian place and Archies (which isn't really for food). This place is great for families, couples and friends looking for a casual, great night out. Delicious pizza. A good selection of toppings for the make your own pizza-especially good dairy free options. BYOB too! read more

Stopped in for early lunch at One 6 Three this afternoon while down in New Haven for some estate sales. We were thoroughly impressed with our food, the ambiance and the extremely friendly staff!! Wishing we didn't live so far from NH so we could stop by more often! read more

After taking the family to IT (Jordan Furniture's indoor ropes course), we wanted something different than Pepe's. We almost passed up this gem, because we nearly missed its small size, while looking for parking. But it's a very cool space, with a nice, clean, newish vibe. Our waitress welcomed us and gave us all the info we needed and kept the water bottle filled. We ordered wings with grandma's BBQ sauce. Amazing! We actually cleaned every bit of sauce out of the dish (using forks and fingers). They need to bottle this perfect sauce! We ordered the Bleu pizza ( buffalo chicken) and the A and A (named for Andrew and Alexa- the engaged owners-their fav pie). We enjoyed the restaurant's decor and the view of the beautiful wood-fired oven, that was cooking our pizza. Then, were delivered to our wood slab tabletop, 2 large, lovely pizzas. We couldn't stop eating. Our family has actually never been this silent at a meal (after my son told us to stop making all of the weird, food appreciating sounds). The crust is the BEST we've ever eaten. It's thin and perfect- not floppy, like Pepe's, but not crispy-hard. Just perfect. Flavors were wonderful. We were so content. Thankful for Yelp! While we were there, a guy came to pick up an order. "How did you make this so fast?", he asked, "It's a meat pizza." "We bake it at 700 degrees", the cook replied. "Oh". Check out this fiery talent. You will be so glad you did. Four adult family members ate 2 large pizzas (except for 4 leftover pieces). read more

Phenomenal gluten free pizza. Best crust I've ever had. The margarita pizza was brilliant. Slightly salty focaccia-esque taste. My wife's salad was also large and excellent! read more

This place is awesome. We ordered for the first time and started off conservative with a Large Pepperoni. The pizza was great, the sauce was delicious. You can tell it was made with fresh ingredients. My daughter ordered the Pollo Breeze which was really good as well. The thing that set our order over the top was the Fried Cheese Curds. Fried cheese, come on......It was superbly delicious as was the dipping sauce it came with. They were a bit addicting. The staff was friendly and the service was on point. We will definitely order again. read more

I've been twice now, and both times were amazing. It's a really cozy place, with a counter and one row of tables. The walls are decorated with pieces of wood that people have written messages on. The wood-fired oven is roaring, and if you are sitting in the right place you can feel the heat it throws off. It's amazing what they are able to whip up in that small kitchen. Watching the cooks bustle around, rarely in one another's way, churning out orders, is really a pleasure. And then, of course, the food is incredible and reasonably priced. The goat cheese pizza is delicious, the salads are generously portioned, and they have great specials too. This is one of my favorite spots in New Haven. read more

Ordered take out on Valentine's Day! I got the breakin' my meatballs pizza and a small house salad! Everything was absolutely delicious! The pizza was perfectly crispy and the flavors were on point...but I mean how could you go wrong with homemade meatballs, cherry peppers and ricotta cheese? Their house made salad dressing is awesome, super garlicky! Highly recommend! read more

Excellent pizzas! The Goat is the perfect mix of cheese, cranberry sauce and asparagus.

Everyone knows me as a pizza snob. I am very picky when it comes to pizza. This is the best pizza in all of new haven county. I travel from Wallingford to New Haven just to get it. I recently provided a few larges for a get together with family and everyone was asking where it was from, it was the best pizza they'd had. My family is from Italy and I spent a lot of time growing up in Naples, Italy. This pizza reminds me so much of the Napoli style pizza. And I love that they have personal sizes. My husband and I will get multiple personal sizes to share different toppings. This pizza is so light, the crust so thin and perfect. The right amount of toppings and cheese - this pizza is never saturated or toppings never dripping off. It's perfect. I love the small size of the restaurants. It's so unique. The sauce and meatballs are also another favorite of mine. Love it! read more

Finally, New Haven pizza I can get behind! I have lived in New Haven for several years and have found most of the pizza here to be overrated - too salty, too burnt, too crispy for my liking. I figured that New Haven-style just wasn't for me. Then, One 6 Three opened up just a few blocks away, and I realized all was not lost! Finally, seafood pizzas with fresh but not too fishy seafood and a thin crust that has just enough fluffiness to make me happy. They also serve delicious fries with yummy sauces. I haven't even tried the meat pizzas or poutine yet, but based on what I've tried so far, I bet those will be delicious too! One 6 Three has quickly become my favorite pizza place in New Haven. read more

Better than most places. Tried a chicken cutlet with pickeled onion sandwich. Good. Chix seemed a little over cooked, maybe recooked too much? Pizza was good. Thin. Wood fired. Cool little place. Nothing spectacular, but not a disappointment. read more

Very good pizza in a fantastic pizza town. It's not my first choice in New Haven, but it's far better than most pizza you'll find in other cities. read more

I love One 6 Three! It's close to both my work and my home and they have a great variety of not only pizza, but sandwiches, salads, and apps too. Service is always great, even when the place is packed and I always receive a friendly greeting. I love that they've set up a place for people to hitch their dogs (and water bowls for the dogs to drink out of) and a cute little herb garden out front. Great food, great service, great addition to East Rock! read more
