I needed a place to get some early coffee and breakfast, and this turned out to be the perfect choice.

I usually come to Zoi's for lunch, but I was in the area this morning and decided to try breakfast. I ordered the "Triple Double" on a plain wrap with bacon. The customer service was great, as always. Unfortunately, the breakfast wrap didn't feel worth the $11.79 price in my opinion. Overall, I think I'll stick to lunch at Zoi's going forward. Wonderful lunch spot! After seeing the 30-35min wait time when you order online I decided to walk right in. We've been to Zoi's twice now--once for breakfast and once for lunch, and both times were fantastic. The food is hearty, homemade, and delicious, the kind that makes you feel instantly at home. While visiting New Haven we stopped in for an early breakfast at Zoi's. The parking was fine on the street at 9am but I expect that the parking would be difficult on the street at a later hour. Luckily, there is a garage across the street. Zoi's is a very charming local restaurant, friendly, handsome and clean and nicely lit. Nice college vibe too. They take your order from the front counter and promptly deliver it to your table. I had the Sweet Pete: Bacon, eggs, cheese with caramelized onions on pumpernickel bread breakfast sandwich which was savory and fresh. My wife had a simple combo with the best home fries she's ever had - and considering we are active tristate diner goers, that is a major compliment. The coffee was fresh and rich. Amazing food for such great value!! The sandwiches and soup are so good We got the #2 Smoked Turkey with chipotle Mayo as a wrap and #11 chicken Cutlet with pesto with panini. Both are delicious, but I would recommend panini because it's served as a hot pressed sandwich. We also got the mushroom barley soup and it was really flavorful. Exactly what I needed on a cold day. Been a fan of Zoi's since they were at the Orange St location. Love the new spot right on Grove St, but I'm glad that it still feels like the same Zoi's. Great spot to stop for breakfast/lunch if your in the area. Seems to be extremely convenient if you need a break in the middle of your work day or even for students. I wish I worked in the area because I would definitely stop in every week! You go up to the counter to order and can easily get the food to go, or have a seat and they'll bring it to you. It was not a long wait at all which was great. All the food seemed to be fresh. I got the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich for breakfast which was fairly good. Not the greatest I've ever had, but good enough where I would get it again. I also tried the Greek salad, ingredients were very fresh and they give you a nice size block of delicious feta cheese. It's always fun when I'm downtown and around the corner to head to Zoi's on Orange. This time around, I had jury duty which is daunting so needed a pick me up. I got an egg & cheese sandwich with spinach, avocado & caramelized onions on a croissant for only $5. The best part is they don't charge you extra for avocado which is awesome!! The young lady behind the counter who's usually the person that rings me out is so sweeettttt, no matter if it's in the morning or evening. However, one of the other wait staff was extremely RUDE to me this time around. She was by the coffee and I asked her very politely if they had hot water. Instead of turning around and answering me, she keeps doing what she's doing and taps on the hot water knob (which she was standing in front of btw) and said, "it's right here". Her rudeness caught me off guard and I fired back by saying "umm whoaaa" and walked away to the other young lady behind the counter. The rude wait staff then decided to change her attitude by saying once again, oh the hot water is right here. I rolled my eyes and told her yea I got it now. The owner was right there speaking to someone so I'm sure he overheard or at least saw this transpire. I try to give individuals who work in customer service the benefit of the doubt but her attitude was disgusting and very much uncalled for. SIGH! read more

Good sandwich place and it's popping! I went here on a weekday lunch and this place was PACKED with customers. I can tell it's definitely a favorite here in New Haven. I ordered a pesto chicken sandwich on dutch crunch bread. It's pretty hard to mess up a sandwich so of course, I was happy with what I got. The serving was huge and I was able to split my sandwich into two meals. The sandwich comes w a pickle slice on the side, if you're into that. My absolute favorite thing to get there is the sweet potato fries - definitely get them, and they're pretty inexpensive!! The pancakes are also delicious and a generous portion. The egg platters are not bad but nothing special. The bagel sandwiches are fine, but nothing incredible relative to other New Haven bagel places. There's usually always seating available.
