    Bacon Pizza

This pizza was absolutely delicious. we had bacon pizza they were like half strips. Staff is super friendly. The place has a couple tables in there so you can sit in there and eat.

Really good pizza. Got a large cheese. Had a little more cheese than other local places but still had the charred crust. Overall an excellent pie.

Perfect brick oven pizza done the original way with perfect crust and char. Perfect thickness. Delicious fresh toppings. Friendly and fast service, cooked in 700 degree oven.

Made the trip from NYC to try this gem, so glad I did. It's similar to Modern in New Haven. There's no runnyness of oil or grease on their pizza, so you know they use fresh & real ingredients. Excellent char(as expected from a CT pizzeria) sauce was on point, no flop & heavenly cheese. If you find yourself in CT, please go here. You'll love it.

A brick oven mozz pie from Olde World is just phenomenal-- as thin and tasty as Sally's in New Haven. The apizza NEVER disappoints and they sell the Foxon park Kolas . Hands down the best pizza in Hamden!!

I checked out this place since its across the street from my dermatologist's office. Solid 4. Classic New Haven style pizza as crust is thin with nice char. Good sauce and reasonable price ($18 for medium sausage). Very small seating area with only 3 tables but the interior is super clean and well kept. Staff is super nice. Cash only but there is an ATM next to the door.

Looking to try a new place for pizza we stop in at Olde World Brick Oven Apizza. This is basically take out. We ordered a large pepperoni and it was so good. The crust was very thin, and chard to perfection just around the outer edge. The sauce was delicious, and the pepperoni had a nice spice to it. This is excellent New Haven style pizza without the wait.

I've been excited to try the pizza here, as it is on my way home from work and as a new resident to Hamden, I'm on a mission to be an aficionado of local pizzerias. First off, I put an order in on a Sunday afternoon during football season and the pizza was ready for pickup in less than 20 minutes, so we were off to a strong start. I ordered a small pepperoni and garlic pie which ended up being ~$13 which seemed a tad pricey, but it was definitely larger than what I would classify as a 'personal pizza'. The pizza itself was solid, and they were quite generous with the pepperoni topping, but I can't say the same with the garlic unless the garlic just didn't have a kick to it. Regardless, I will likely return, but next time I'll probably size up to make it more economical. IMPORTANT: CASH OR CHECK ONLY. The young woman working the phone pointed this out before I came to pick up the pizza which was helpful.

BEST PIZZA IN NORTH HAVEN/HAMDEN Was tipped off to this place from a pizza group on another social media site. Man I'm glad, can't believe that they have been open for 25 years and I've never been there. The guy on the phone was super nice and repeated the order to make sure he got it right, said 15 minutes and was spot on. Friendly service when I arrived, said my pizza made him want one even after he's been doing this so long. Got a small sausage, cherry pepper and onion pie with a liter of Gassosa. The smell in my car made me salivate and couldn't wait to dig into this pie. When I opened the box all my mind could think was grab a piece NOW. This pizza was fantastic. The toppings were plentiful and proportioned perfectly. The crust was charred as you would expect and was crispy/chewy. The sauce is fantastic and you can tell all quality ingredients were used. Hell yeah I will be back.

Best in Hamden/North Haven, rivals all the big dogs in New Haven. So flavorful, nice char, and satisfying crisp.

There's about 8 booths- It's a bit on the small side but the food was fantastic. Hubby and I were born and raised in NYC. It's been so long we've had really good pizza. John and Steve brought out pie after pie. We had the plain, plain with grated cheese, tomato with fresh mozzarella, clam with bacon, mangia special, Stevie Gs apple pizza, mashed potato pizza. We brought in our homemade suppi and they put it on some of our pies. We also tried the eggplant Parmesan and garlic knots. The plain pies, mashed potato, and the mangia special were my favorites but really everything there was top notch. There is nothing that I wouldn't order again. The crust is nice and crunchy. Good char on it. Sauce was delicious - not sour like straight from a can. Toppings were better than I expected for a small pizza spot. Sausage was tasty. Mushrooms were fresh not tinned, fresh tomatoes and basil. Tons of clams on the pizza. Bacon was thick sliced and left almost whole. Eggplant was sliced thin. Generous with the toppings. Even better than their pizza- is their service. It was my first time meeting them and I felt like an old friend. They were so friendly, chatted with us, told us stories -- we really had a good time. The older gentleman who brought out the food and took away the empty trays was very thorough- checked in on us regularly. Mangia Apizza is easy to miss - connected to Vick's Cafe (really it's a bar). Stop in and grab a pizza. You won't be sorry. And if you want someone to talk your ears off - stop in and eat at a booth. I wish they were closer!!

This place is small, unapologetic, and full of character. Decorative firewood stacked with intention, walls filled with wine corks, and #10 tomato cans repurposed as pizza stands. Walk in and you immediately catch the vibe, exposed brick, distressed plaster, a slightly industrial, almost factory-style feel that somehow still feels warm and welcoming. The centerpiece of the room is the wood-fired oven, running hot and glowing with that perfect orange flame. The aroma of burning wood hits you right away and sets the tone. From that moment on, the culinary experience is in motion. We ordered The Mootz and Breaking My Meatballs. Both pies are built on a very thin, tender crust with beautiful leoparding. The dough is flavorful and clearly well-fermented. Sauce is applied with restraint, just enough to support the dough and cheese without overpowering them, and it delivers a clean, bright tomato flavor. Breaking My Meatballs was the standout. Homemade meatballs, herbed ricotta, cherry peppers, mozzarella, and that same balanced sauce. The cherry peppers bring a sharp vinegar tang that cuts perfectly through the richness of the ricotta and meatballs. Every bite hits a different note, and it all works together. Easily one of my favorites. The crust across the board was thin and tender with a delicate smoky char from the wood fire, exactly what you want from this style. Bottom line: Great spot. Excellent pizza. Super friendly staff

One 6 Three is an unusual name - it's a small and cozy spot with few tables and bar seating, set in a residential neighborhood. We tried the gluten free crust (available only in 12") American margherita pie and added mushrooms in half of it. The wood fired crust was well done, I really liked it. Lots of garlic, yum. However, the tomatoes on it were raw and that didn't feel very good. Also, there were no condiments offered on the side- like oregano- is that normal in a pizza place? Maybe I need to try more pizza places :)
