Est Est Est Pizza absolutely deserves 5 stars. I went in with two friends just looking for some good pizza -- and it turned into one of the best food experiences we've had in a while. From the moment we walked in, the place felt warm, welcoming, and comfortable. It's a cozy little restaurant, but it has real character and charm. The pizza itself was amazing -- fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the quality in every bite. When we told the owner how much we liked it, he didn't just say thank you -- he went above and beyond and offered us several different slices so we could try more flavors. You don't see that kind of hospitality everywhere. The staff was just as great. Everyone was friendly, patient, and genuinely happy to help. I also loved seeing the diverse team working together and clearly taking pride in what they do. They all had the same goal: make sure every customer leaves happy, no matter what it takes. On top of the amazing pizza, they have other great food options that really surprised us -- everything tasted fresh and well thought-out. So EST (despite the EST EST EST Sign out front. I hear they're down to one EST) was one of the Top 20 Votegetters for the CT Pizza Trail. I've had their pizza at festivals, but this was my first time trying a slice in person. I'm only evaluating my experience ordering and eating a slice of reheated BBQ Chicken Pizza at the restaurant. EST has pizza, pasta and sandwiches, etc. that you can order to go. They have a few slice options. They also have a bit of seating. You order from the counter and then they call your name. When I ordered my slice of BBQ Chicken Pizza, I also asked if I could get a cup of water. I was told that I would have to buy something from the case. I wasn't planning on staying long and didn't want to spend more money. So I passed. Otherwise, service was as expected. My pizza arrived on a white paper plate. I'd call the crust New York thin style. The pizza was about average for BBQ Chicken Pizza. The chicken texture and BBQ sauce were fine. None of the ingredients really popped. And the pizza needed more salt to properly balance the flavors. The crust held up well though. I wouldn't normally judge a restaurant on its BBQ Chicken Pizza, but EST only had what I would call alternative pizza options when I was there. No pepperoni slices. No cheese red sauce slices. I placed an order for pizza. By the time I got there, it was ready. Very courteous service at the front desk. Very clean with limited seating. I've had their pasta in the past and that was also pretty good. I haven't had their salads, but I've heard that they're massive and very good as well. This isn't one of the spots that you hear about when it comes to New Haven pizza, but I would not overlook it. Thin brick oven style crust, which is my favorite. The tomato sauce was robust, and it was very enjoyable. I think they have pork-free meat options in regards to pepperoni, sausage and/or bacon if you have restrictions. But I would double check before ordering. This is on Chapel & Park Street. There was parking when I arrived, which was just after 5 PM on a Friday. But it is street parking and it can be challenging depending on the time of day you're going. But you should be able to find something within the block. Also, it's around the Yale area, so there's a lot of foot traffic as well. read more

Shout out to this hard working crew! I was selected as one of their winners for their 10K IG Giveaway! Today we went to pick up the prize- an EST EST EST tshirt and magnet. I'm in love with the green tshirt (my fave color!) in a medium size (like it was meant to be it's my size!) and the adorable pizza magnet that already has a home on our fridge. I let the owner/manager know it was my first time visiting in person and I had won the giveaway. He was so kind and hospitable. The other work assisting on the pizza oven was just as warm and inviting to us. We also ordered two slices of the delicious BBQ chicken pizza to go and a slice of cheesecake. Easy peezy, lemon squeezy. They were tossed in the oven for a few and it was fabulous! The pizza had just the right amount of char and bite plus the chicken, onion and BBQ worked perfectly together to make a sweet and tangy slice. Shout out and Thanks to EST EST EST for delivering to the local hospital so often and other great NH places!! I loved the little touches of welcoming Halloween decoration. The skeleton was super fun and pumpkins placed just so around the entrance make a cozy atmosphere. Finally stopped in to try this place out. Late night wings that totally did not disappoint. Wings were crunchy on the outside and meaty on the inside. The flavor of the sauce packed the perfect punch of heat with a sweet flavor. The spot was pretty busy for a after midnight spot. After hearing so much about Est, we finally had the chance to stop in, and I can see why New Haven locals love it so much. Classic, no-frills spot, with just delicious food. Loved the calzone, wings, and pizza. It's nice to know there's a spot that sells slices in New Haven too, since many of the pizzerias don't, and that they're open for late night. One thing that frustrated me about getting pizza in New Haven is that very few places do slices! Sometimes you just need a quick slice without having to pay for (or eat) a whole pie. Est Est is one of the few places I found that does slices and does them WELL! What a solid spot! This is more than the 2am slice people know it as. Located right on Chapel st, it's definitely an easy spot to walk into while in downtown New Haven. It's rare to find a spot that serves slices AND they are good! We also really love the selection of pasta. The space isn't huge but plenty of spots to sit and enjoy. This was a very quick stop for lunch on route from the Newport Mansions in Rhode Island to Long Island. The vegetarian salad had sundried tomatoes and little mozzarella cheese balls. The balsamic vinaigrette was good. I got one slice with lots of vegetables. While I appreciate that they sell pizza by the slice, the crust wasn't thin enough. The Pizza was a decent size for the price and I really loved the thin crust! This place has more of a bitter sauce than sweet. I personally prefer a sweeter sauce, but not too bad.
