the exterior of zuppardi's slice shop and takeout

Zuppardi's Apizza is a satellite restaurant or sister restaurant of Zuppardi's in New Haven. I can't believe I took so long to get her considering I only live five minutes away. I usually go to the one New Haven. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were very friendly. I ordered a half Cheese Pizza with Sausage and Pepper's. The pizza tasted just as delicious and flavorful as the one in New Haven. When I arrived the pizza came fresh out the oven and the sauce had great flavors and the crust was phenomenal. In my opinion that's the best of the pizza. The menu is simple and straight forward and the slices looked delicious. I will definitely be back since there's one five minutes away me.

Buffalo Chicken pizza with ranch

This was my first time here. my friend and I ordered a buffalo chicken pizza with ranch. The pizza was cooked perfectly. The amount of ranch drizzle was perfect. My buddy added the Parmesan. Pizza was really good. They have a cute little table outside that we ate at. This place is more of a takeout. They do slices up until 3 PM I believe. Parking lot can only fit a few cars hence the more so take out place. I would definitely grab pizza from there again.

Zuppardis at home ----yesss!

So it's not the same as West Haven location, NO Large! Why ??? The slices are so small in a medium it's just not the same experience!!! The service is fast and staff is always pleasant, BUT, Take Out only here unless you want to sit at a lonely high top for a slice.....better get it to-go !!! No seating otherwise.

This pie with fresh basil left the most exquisite taste in my mouth.

I have been going to Zuppardi's in West Haven since I was a little girl. I was very excited to learn that they recently opened a satellite restaurant in Ansonia. Today, I officially tried out the new Zuppardi's slice shop and take out apizza on Beaver Street. Aside from traveling the roller coaster ride through the Ansonia roads to find the place, the trip was worth it. For the first time ever, I tried grandma's white square pie with ricotta cheese. At $5.50 a square, it was rather small but full of wonderful flavor! The staff was friendly and efficient. I would like to encourage Zuppardi's to consider opening more satellite restaurants preferably near Orange,Connecticut too!

I'm new to the area and my bestie suggested this place. Was hoping they had tables inside but sadly only take it. I ordered garlic bread for an app. It was really good! I also ordered a Margherita pie which I enjoyed. I love that the menu is short and sweet. Will definitely be ordering from here again.

2nd time ordering their lobster pizza. Outstanding! Full pie did't last long. Highly recommend

Being in Naugatuck, we're thrilled that Zuppardi's has their second location in Ansonia! We were happy with our pizzas and thought it was just as good as the original in West Haven. My family and I will definitely be regulars here!

Bummer, as drove 20 minutes in terrible winter weather. I happened to notice the sign Retro next door. On a whim, I googled it. Great reviews. We decided to give them a try. Oh my goodness, the 4.9 out of 5 didn't lie. Out of 5, we give them a 7. Super cute, uber clean was our initial impression. Emily was behind the bar and quickly welcomed us in. We were their first customers as it had just opened. We told her about Taco Central being closed, no idea why and that this was our first time in. She was so friendly and explained pretty much everything about Retro, from it being family owned and run to what makes it special with recommendations and customer favorites. Her Dad is the owner, Gary and we quickly met him. He shared some history of the area, his background and really made us feel special, but what is special is the crazy delicious pizza we enjoyed. Probably the best pie we have had in the NE. Which is saying a lot. It's New Haven style pizza at its absolute finest. The dough, the crust, the San Marzano sauce (to die for), coupled with the cheese, and toppings. We built our own. Sausage (which he makes himself), black olives, mushrooms, hot oil, jalapeños omg!!!! The pie was so delicious. A tip, when your pizza comes out, let it sit a minute or two before grabbing a slice to let it jive together. They offer oregano, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan cheese to add. It's not needed but was so appreciated. They have apx 3 TVs to catch a game as well as tables. The ambiance is casual, retro and fun. Great date night, family friendly and welcoming. There truly wasn't one thing missing. Plus, they offer great wine choices in six or nine ounce pours at reasonable prices. But unlike so many restaurants, they have lovely long stemmed wine glasses. Great selection of beer, including local craft beers on tap and full bar. Go with complete confidence. I don't know if they have parking behind the restaurant as we parked directly in front street side.

Better prices and better food I had chilli hot dogs for 10 dollars was a rip off. 1 dollar off…read morecorona s on Tuesdays is also too expensive. Copper city happy hour price for corona is 4.00.

Old school, no frills neighborhood favorite that I was glad to get to try. We arrived around 4pm and while the place was pretty filled, there was only a few minute wait. As others mentioned, there is no one to greet you at the entrance or tell you to write your name on the waitlist...so be sure to do that. Paper tacked on the wall. We received menus right away but it did take some time for our order to be taken. Clams casino, eggplant grinder, small cheese, and medium sausage ( crumbled), onions and peppers. Fresh brew iced tea, unsweetened. Our dishes did take some time to get to the table. Service was top notch! Thank you Coleen! She knew her stuff and gladly answered all our questions with a sincere smile. The clams casino dish was fresh, full of flavor and texture, and probably one of the best I have ever had. Really. The house made bread was incredible. The eggplant grinder was magnificent! Both pizzas were to our liking and tasted even better heated up the next day. Crowds were pouring in as we were finishing up, with a line outside. Restrooms clean, place very busy, and small parking lot. I would definitely visit again.
