    Porchetta grinder

Roma pizza. A good solid place for lunch. I stop for slices all of the time. Today it was a slice of pizza with sausage while I waited for my porchetta grinder. Really good. They have good sauce too.nice owner friendly prompt service.

    Biggest small clam casino pie!

Best owners, service, pizza and location in the valley! Been eating here since the mid 90's Wood fired pizza that takes me back to my childhood memories, big happy smile and always greeted kindly as soon as we walk in. Get the clam casino pie,the best and consistently done to perfection! This last time got one to go,it was bigger than the box could comfortably fit,no problem,he folded it over!

Love this place, local wood fire brick oven pizza (700+ degree oven!). Place is close to the hospital, quick turn and great friendly family service. Small eat in area - about 4-5 booths. Atleast 1x a month I am here for margarita pizza ( large) with red sauce, definitely recommend that and the chicken Florentine (tried that for the first time this week)! We also normally get a large Greek salad with house dressing. The red vinaigrette house dressing is great!

    This ain't no Sicilian pie

So I've eaten here dozens of times and even used them for multiple work parties over the years. Today I was w a couple of people who had never tried Sicilian pie. So we decided to find a place and we began calling around , most places said no and then when I called Roma they said yes and that they even made 2 sizes.. great So we drive over and order a large Sicilian w toppings. The pie came and we could not of been more disappointed. It was a round pie that had a little bit thicker crust like they put 2 pie doughs together but it was NOT Sicilian. So I said to the man, this is not Sicilian. He says "oh, this is our Sicilian" I say it's round and not even thick, it's just slightly bigger then thin crust.. then he asks if I've ever had Sicilian.. are you serious ? I'm 54, grew up in the 80's.. yeah fucker I've had a shit ton of Sicilian and this ain't it... we ate half the pie, the sausage tasted off 3 people and I took 1/2 the pie home for the chickens Picture posted so you could weigh in So so disappointed, do better

    Rustica with sauce.

I have driven past this pizzeria many times and finally decided to stop in and grab dinner. To my delight the first thing you see is a large wood burning stove. Always a good sign and they did not disappoint. I ordered a Rustica (w/ sauce) and had the pie in less than 10 minutes. Don't let the quick service fool you, this is a quality pie. The roasted peppers have the right touch of sweetness and tomatoes are plump and juicy, the spinach hits off the final bite with the right amount of tang. The wood stove gives the crust just the right amount of char. I am usually the type of person who insists on some type of meat topping on my pizza but I was more than pleased with the veggie only Rustica. To sum up my thoughts on this place I will quote the character the made "The Arnold" a household name "I'll be back." !

Stopped for lunch after a weekend hike in Naugatuck State Park. Very good pizza with thin crispy crusts, just the way we like them.

Bummer, as drove 20 minutes in terrible winter weather. I happened to notice the sign Retro next door. On a whim, I googled it. Great reviews. We decided to give them a try. Oh my goodness, the 4.9 out of 5 didn't lie. Out of 5, we give them a 7. Super cute, uber clean was our initial impression. Emily was behind the bar and quickly welcomed us in. We were their first customers as it had just opened. We told her about Taco Central being closed, no idea why and that this was our first time in. She was so friendly and explained pretty much everything about Retro, from it being family owned and run to what makes it special with recommendations and customer favorites. Her Dad is the owner, Gary and we quickly met him. He shared some history of the area, his background and really made us feel special, but what is special is the crazy delicious pizza we enjoyed. Probably the best pie we have had in the NE. Which is saying a lot. It's New Haven style pizza at its absolute finest. The dough, the crust, the San Marzano sauce (to die for), coupled with the cheese, and toppings. We built our own. Sausage (which he makes himself), black olives, mushrooms, hot oil, jalapeños omg!!!! The pie was so delicious. A tip, when your pizza comes out, let it sit a minute or two before grabbing a slice to let it jive together. They offer oregano, red pepper flakes, and Parmesan cheese to add. It's not needed but was so appreciated. They have apx 3 TVs to catch a game as well as tables. The ambiance is casual, retro and fun. Great date night, family friendly and welcoming. There truly wasn't one thing missing. Plus, they offer great wine choices in six or nine ounce pours at reasonable prices. But unlike so many restaurants, they have lovely long stemmed wine glasses. Great selection of beer, including local craft beers on tap and full bar. Go with complete confidence. I don't know if they have parking behind the restaurant as we parked directly in front street side.

12.19.25 They only have take out, to go orders here…read more I'm a little torn & conflicted with this review. I've been here a handful of times and they're a little inconsistent. The pizza is good and consistent though. It's not awesome like it is at their West Haven store, but it's good. Good flavors & toppings. They do make their own sausage for those meatlovers out there. Where i fall flat are with their meatball parm grinders. In my opinion they're nowhere as good at the pizzas. They do fall short with their grinders. I keep trying them to try and end up with a better result than the previous time but it hasn't happened. So I'll stick to their pizzas. The last time the meatball parm was barely warm. It cooled off or they didn't warm it enough. The pic shows the mozzarella cheese has cooled. The pic was taken as soon as I got in the car to leave. "We all know our cameras eat first." The flavor isn't really there either with their meatballs. Other than that, the flavor with their pizzas are good. Tasty cheese and sausage. Don't forget the fox on park birch beer though. It's a must. Crisp & refreshing. The store inside is very small. It is very clean though. They only have medium 14" pizzas. I tried for a small and was told only the medium. That's totally fine. No issues with that. Service is fine whenever I'm there. What is don't like is that you don't get a printed receipt. Only text or email it to you. I don't go for that. I need to check my receipts when I eat out. You never know. And speaking of never knowing. Most recent visit, I was surprised how one meatball parm grinder and one sausage pizza came to $39 and change. But i shrugged it off and paid. Made sure i grabbed to go menu to check price. I went down the street and pulled over to do the bath with their menu. What I came up with is they charged me for an additional topping. Not cool. Not good. I called them to mention what happened. They made good though. I explained who I was, that i just left. Gave them my name. They checked. They realized and said I'd receive a credit in a few days. Thankfully they were correct. I did see that charge go back on my credit card as a credit. Happy that they're trustworthy, which they are.

Old school, no frills neighborhood favorite that I was glad to get to try. We arrived around 4pm and while the place was pretty filled, there was only a few minute wait. As others mentioned, there is no one to greet you at the entrance or tell you to write your name on the waitlist...so be sure to do that. Paper tacked on the wall. We received menus right away but it did take some time for our order to be taken. Clams casino, eggplant grinder, small cheese, and medium sausage ( crumbled), onions and peppers. Fresh brew iced tea, unsweetened. Our dishes did take some time to get to the table. Service was top notch! Thank you Coleen! She knew her stuff and gladly answered all our questions with a sincere smile. The clams casino dish was fresh, full of flavor and texture, and probably one of the best I have ever had. Really. The house made bread was incredible. The eggplant grinder was magnificent! Both pizzas were to our liking and tasted even better heated up the next day. Crowds were pouring in as we were finishing up, with a line outside. Restrooms clean, place very busy, and small parking lot. I would definitely visit again.
