Pity they've gone downhill. Ordered chicken cutlet grinders. Bread was so stale we couldn't believe they had the nerve to serve it. Provolone cheese was one thin slice that was see through. Wasn't even sure it was on there. Requested roasted peppers and they gave us soggy green bell peppers on the sandwiches! The whole thing was awful. Two sandwiches, 30.00 and I feel robbed. I pondered calling them, but was so mad bc frankly what they served us was an insult, so I did. I explained our issues and was left on hold. Hung up and wrote it off as a loss. Oh well, they're crossed off our list. Beware. Shame on them. read more

What a great hidden gem!! My boyfriend & I decided to order in for my birthday & what a treat we had! You know you hit a great place when they have good bread.. their Bread was so fresh!! Had takeout pizza for the first time here. It seems like a nice little place, but it's go an over 50's vibe. Pizza: 6.1 - Extremely average. I prefer a little thinner crust with some char or crisp to the pizza (Roma or Pizzaro nearby). This pizza is just basic, baked oven pizza. It's fine, nothing really wrong with that, it was cooked fresh, hot, just not my style at all. Service: 10.0 - Extremely friendly! Very nice staff on the phone and when I picked up. Every other place should have staff as nice as this place. Ambiance: N/A - Did takeout, so I can't comment on the ambiance, but the place looks refreshed and newish. Nothing fancy. I mean, it looked cozy. But it was too quiet and I didn't see beers on tap or anything like that, and I like to pair my pizza with a nice draft IPA, so I wouldn't dine in here. Overall: Would be a nice place to bring my grandma, but I would never come here on my own. read more

This was our first time ordering from Alberto's and it definitely won't be our last. We placed an order to be picked up. It was ready when we got there and they checked the order one more time to make sure everything was in the bag. Everything was delicious! Their bread is outstanding!! We got 3 meals and they all came with salad and bread. We also got garlic bread and cheesy bread and mozzarella sticks. The sticks came with sauce and eating them brought me back to when my grandfather use to make sauce on Sunday. It had so much flavor. The Cavatelli Special was wonderful. It was a big portion, but it was so good, I couldn't stop eating it. The lasagna was made perfectly, with just the right amount of meat and cheese and again, that sauce took the lasagna over the top. Even the pasta with sauce was great! Even though we were all full, we had to try the tiramisu. Like everything we ordered, it was delicious. This has become our new takeout place for Italian food. Next time, we are going to try the pizza. If the crust is anything like the bread, I know it will be great. Our thanks to all the kitchen people that made this wonderful meal for us. Service was super friendly! Food was pretty good too. I prefer my sauce a little more sweeter than theirs, but the sauce still was good. Great cesar salad and hot homemade Italian bread! Husband enjoyed his calzone and daughter enjoyed her veal francese. My eggplant rolatini was pretty good too, but it wasn't hot and seemed like it hadn't been heated all the way through. I didn't mention it since it was later in the evening and I was partly full from the salad and bread. We have been going to Alberto's for many many years mostly take out but not sure how much longer that will continue. The price has steadily risen for the dinners while the chicken has gotten thinner and smaller to the point it is mostly a dish of sauce that you have to search for the small chicken pieces in. The sauce is good. The waitress who has been there forever is lovely but what you get is no longer worth the price compared to competitors. Sorry. Hope this changes for the better soon. read more

Not too bad. Juat make sure you tell them well done. The crust was soggy and the paper behind it stuck to it. Besides that they did listen to my direction of generous amounts of veggies. I think if I pop the left overs in the oven today the crust will be perfect. read more

This has always been my go to spot for a descent take out chicken parmigiana grinder. Sauce is tasty and the bread is good with the right amount of mozzarella. However, of late the amount of chicken added has not been in proportion to the rest of the grinder's ingredients. It went from having a good balance to now what seems like you're eating all bread and your searching for the chicken. Would love for them to go back to how it used to be! read more

Well decided to go back to Alberto's not for pizza this time but for something we were familiar with... Ordered the stuffed mushrooms with their secret seafood stuffing which is the same as all the other restaurants made imitation crab meat and a basic reduction sauce. Linguine tossed in white clam sauce & eggplant rollatini served with angel hair pasta. Overall the food was just alright. The red sauce for the rollatini had a bit of an acid taste and a little too much cheese for my likely it took away from the eggplant, which was rather good. We love garlic in our food but it was overpowering in the linguine with clam sauce. Not sure what is happening here... Their main dishes used to be really good. read more

Ate in the restaurant with the Hubby tonight. Social distancing in place, hand sanitizer available, all customers required to wear masks in and out. Servers all wore masks with some success, a nose out here and there but management and kitchen staff did not have masks on. Maybe not a big deal but some may want to avoid this restaurant. Food was fine, serving size is far too large for me. Service was friendly and good. The restaurant is clean and they appear to be taking extra precautions other than the management and kitchen staff. I had veal parmigiana, I'm pretty particular about it and only have it a couple of times per year. This is a veal cutlet drowned in sauce and got a bit soggy because of that. I prefer some crunchy bites of veal, good sharp fresh cheese. I also had chicken noodle soup that was pretty bland. Hubble had cavatelli with sausage, could have used a bit more seasoning, maybe some grated Parmesan. read more

I used to love this place but it has gone way down hill. Paid $14 for stuffed mushrooms that were watery, soggy and the portion size was just enough to feed a 3 year old. The pizza was cut unevenly and it was doughy. The cold grinder combo had thin pepperoni slices that looked and tasted store bought, like the kind you buy in a package. I was expecting a fresh, real meat, Italian sub. The only thing that was mediocre was the calzone. Needless to say, my entire family was still hungry after paying for all this food. I gave them multiple Opportunities to make it right ordered 45 dollars worth of food on 5/2 and the dropped in on the front stoop outside on the ground of my apartment building where people walk with dirty shoes and their pets ...didn't even have the decency to call and say it's here . Very unsanitary and poor business practice . Customer service is horrific ! To top it off management doesn't even have the decency to call me back. I've never had baked ziti with no ricotta... very small portion- I think it was 15.00 ---in reality about 4.00 worth of food. Bread they serve at the table should be warm. The peppers on my salad were so old I couldn't make out whet they were. I had to remove them. We were a party of three and out tab came out to $85.00. My sister and I wanted to have pizza delivered and our usual "go to" was closed. So we decided to try Alberto's. We ordered a large pepperoni pizza and two desserts. They were out of one of the desserts and substituted a tartufo. (so glad they didnt just send the order without it. I love my sweets). It was so good I was glad they had to substitute! The pizza was delicious and arrived hot. The tartufo was cold and not melted at all. My sister loved her cheesecake. It never hurts to have more than one "go to" Yum !! read more

Here's some good: -The people who work there are very nice, and so far we haven't had a single order that wasn't accurate. -Their soups are phenomenal (my personal fave is the chicken noodle). The chicken and vegetables all taste fresh. -The mozzarella sticks, as well as calzones are also delicious. (Skip putting ham in a calzone though, not great) -They are pretty on point with estimated delivery times -It's pretty hard to mess a salad up, but they're pretty good and have a decent size variety to choose from if you are trying to make more health conscious decisions. -meatballs are great! And then the not so good: -They're expensive. That favorite delicious soup of mine is pricey. -Their bread is awful, honestly the only bread on this whole earth I don't want to eat. We received a gift card here and decided to do take out. First... We were pn hold for 11 minutes before we gave up the first time. 5 minutes the second time when someone finally took our order. When we brought our order home, some of it was ok... the rest smelled like it had been prepared by someone who smokes A LOT because it smelled so bad of cigarette smoke we couldn't it eat.
