That said, it does seem like the owner could benefit from hiring a few additional staff members to better keep up with customer volume. My party waited a noticeable amount of time for food and drinks, even though it wasn't particularly busy compared to times I've seen in the past. The service itself was great, and the staff worked hard despite being stretched thin. Overall, the food and drinks were excellent, and with a little more staffing, the experience would be even better.

I just adjusted the chairs to make sure my guest and kids were comfortable and not annoying the adult customers in bar area etc. She yells "MAY I HELP YOU WITH **MY** FURNITURE". Im not interested in your 1975 chairs but I am INDEED moving a chair so my nephew can sit down. Im thinking Im being HELPFUL so I don't have to bug anyone but instead, she tried to sh*t on me in front of other patrons. After that, our vibe was not vibing and we did not order drinks as we had planned and left. I was really hoping this tanking restaurant would have been a winner as we have a LARGE circle of friends in the town & I we all love giving business to mom and pops hanging by a thread. Too bad.

It's a super cute brewery with games, inside and outdoor seating, an excellent wine list, great beers with beers to go from around the globe, matched with excellent service. We didn't try any of the food offerings which is mostly pizza and pretzels, but we really enjoyed our time. The bartender seemed to know everyone and was so helpful and friendly to us. The wine glasses are very nice. Go with complete confidence.

Before I worked there,…read moreOxford seemed a long way to go to try out yet another CT brewery (they weren't distributed back then, so you had to go there or be lucky enough to find it on tap somewhere) and they sounded very niche and weird. And they kinda are in the best way possible. Their selection of beers is pretty amazing in that you won't find 6 different IPAs, 2 fruity sours and a lager. Here you'll find Asian style lager, black lager, 3 different pils, 4 experimental sours, a traditional Berliner Weiss, an English Bitter, and that's just their own brews. They're also an importer and offer bottles from a variety of European and Asian brewers. Walking in transports you to a European beer hall with high ceilings and long wooden tables. There's also a nice deck out back to enjoy nature and a little game room overlooking the brewery floor. I've never tried the food so no comment there. I do intend to spend a lunch hour there one day when I have an easy afternoon ahead of me. The staff there is very friendly and super knowledgeable about the product. Great spot!

What an awesome time we had at Black Hog !…read more The place is very big with lots of seating options inside and outside. The Caseus Cheese Truck was up front and what goes better than a cold beer and a hot melty grilled cheese? They had a lot of beers on tap, plus plenty of six pack can choices https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/black-hog-brewing-oxford?select=RGCK9MqCPn8MCHgeNHtcyg , and of course growlers to buy or fill. The staff was super friendly, and I loved the chill vibe all over the place. They were pretty busy yesterday, being the first really nice day of the year combined with their ''Fifth Annual Saison Day''. Black Hog offered up their own Saisons plus quite a bit of guest choices from Allagash, Two Roads, Kent Falls, and New England Brewing. I enjoyed a nice glass of Black Hog's Barrel Aged Biere De Hog (Red Wine Barrel Aged, ever so lightly soured with a yogurt lacto culture. Bright, sweet, and complex. Bottle and keg conditioned -8% ABV). It was very drinkable with a definite sweet overtone. I also picked up a six pack of their Coffee Milk Stout for ten bucks. For draft variety, can variety, customer service, sweet vibe, comfortable seating options. and just about anything you look for at a brewery, you will find it here. Five stars easy

Really good liquor store - the people who work there are super helpful. I'm by no means a beer snob…read more- far from it, actually...but I'm finally learning that there is more to the world of beer than the god awful cheap fizzy piss type brews my ex's friends would guzzle at their vomit rager parties, and that *gasp* I'm learning to like it. They have a really good selection of beer (and cider, which is more of my thing). Every time I go in there I find something new to try. I wish they'd carry Brooklyn Brewery 6 packs (I saw 12's, and they do sell bottles individually in the create your own 6 packs) BUT if I get a hankering craving for Brooklyn Summer, Stop and Shop next door has it. (Also of note, their beer selection is probably the best I've seen for Stop and Shop - perhaps they've stepped it up because of this place? Who knows) The wine selection is also pretty decent - although as long as you carry Naked Grape moscato, I'm a happy camper (Which they do, obviously.) Overall, they don't seem to be any cheaper or more expensive than the other places around here either. They're close to my apartment (and I seem to be at the grocery store an awful lot) so they're my liquor store of choice.

I found some hard to find Italian liqueurs on a shelf, with a price a few dollars less than the 'discount' liquor store in my neighborhood. I don't know much about beer, but they seemed to have a lot of different brands. Overall, the prices are average - a dollar or two more or less than other liquor outlets. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The store is clean, without a lot of stock piled on the floor or in aisles. While not really worth it for me to drive here when I need a bottle of something, it's great if I'm in the area and need to restock my cabinet. I will be back!
