This place is upbeat, bright, inviting, and nice. I was greeted by the host and seated by them as well. The menu was interesting, creative, and exciting. The service is exactly how it should be, attentive, and present. I tried one of their specials, a watermelon tower. It was delicious, as well as the charred octopus and their fig special cocktail. I loved this place, I wanna try more of their menu so I'll be back to do that. read more

I've heard about the eggplant fries here and they did not disappoint! Crunchy, loved the aioli /sauce. The meatballs were beef, usually I'm not a fan of meatball without pork however with the charred crostini it was very good! The Caesar salad was a little off for me, the radicchio made it bitter in my opinion. Cutlet was well cooked. Open layout of the restaurant was nice also. I noticed they gave outdoor second floor seating, it was raining when we visited but that would be really nice in the summer! read more

This restaurant is gorgeous--I loved the style, and everything was very clean and inviting. We started with the Summer Loving sangria. I ordered the white, and it was absolutely delicious--refreshing and just right for a warm day. For our appetizer, we chose the Eggplant Parm Fries with tomato jam, burrata, and a balsamic glaze. I really enjoyed this dish--I'd never had anything like it before! My only wish is that there had been more tomato jam and burrata. For our entrée, we went with the Godfather pizza: tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, shallots, garlic, and oregano. We made a few changes--removed the sausage and added hot peppers, which was delicious. Unfortunately, they forgot to include the mushrooms, and the pizza could have been cooked a bit longer--it was a little too floppy for our taste. Ambiance and service were super nice. Staff was on par and fast to help. The restaurant was super packed. Parking is rough as it's in a strip mall and very crowded. The drinks were very good but very expensive. Had a great dinner here last night with awesome drinks and delicious food. The service was great really welcoming even with us coming close to closing time. Not your average pizzeria! This Neapolitan-style pizzeria has a modern twist that everyone must try. Their lemon pizza, limone pasta, corn arinchini, freshly squeezed lemonade, are just a few of the things my family and I fell in love with while at Char & Lemon. Everything was just so good! Best part of it all, the friendly, homey, and attentive service. I stopped in with five friends on Memorial Day after the parade. We were seated promptly on the patio where we had shade from the umbrella and it was a nice day. Service was excellent, both friendly and efficient. We had quite a selection of food orders and everyone enjoyed them from pizza to Brussel sprouts, chicken wings and octopus. The prices were average and the portions were appropriate. There is still some construction going on for this newer complex of shops. Plenty of parking too. read more

We really enjoy Char & Lemon and visit periodically. We stopped in after a long day out and about-famished. We ordered the Calamari Fritti with Cherry Peppers-the peppers were coated with the same light batter as the calamari. Fantastic dish! Delicious and tender calamari and the peppers were a treat as well. We also ordered the mushroom pizza - no cheese, extra olive oil. The pie came with a good amount of mushrooms, but it was really dry. We were hoping that between the truffle oil that is part of the dish and the requested extra oil we would have a nice mushroom pie. But, there didn't seem to be any oil at all. I'm sure it would have been taken care of had we asked but we really wanted to head home. If you eat cheese and love mushrooms, this pizza is a triple delight: cremini, oyster and shiitake, fontina cheese and truffle oil. The crust is soft and flavorful. I bet you'd enjoy it. We will skip it next time and get the veggie pizza instead. The interior is large, open, well lit, comfortable seating and plenty of it - the outside seating is good too. read more

I've been to Char & Lemon 3 times since it's opened. I'm happy to have a casual place in the location. The menu is extensive and service is pretty good. Restaurant really uses a lot of lemons in its decor and it's nice to see it decked out for the winter holidays. We've eaten at the bar and in the dining areas and where I'd say they stand out is brunch until 3pm on Sundays. We have enjoyed a lot of different meals there and the waffles and bacon egg and cheese brunch pizza was very good. It would be great if they did brunch on both Saturday and Sunday. Volume of the music can be too loud making it a little unenjoyable and hard to converse with table mates. I live about 1.5 miles away so for sure will be returning. read more

I had take out for dinner with my husband's family on a Sunday. I can't remember what everyone ordered, but I got the Chicken Piccata - lemon and buttery perfection! The serving size was also really big - I had leftovers for the following day. I would like to try a panini one day - they all sounded really good! read more

Char & Lemon is adorable. It's part of a larger community with apartments in the back, and everything you could need on a day to day all around. It's a great concept. The interior design has the black char and yellow lemon, with lovely green everywhere. The food was very good, although a bit too much on the uncooked brussel sprouts for the Roasted Potato Pizza. It's like someone took part of a lawn, but honestly if it was roasted first... And everything else stayed the same.... Yum! read more

The actual location is cute, tons of parking. Pizza is personal size. Meatball pizza was good. The garlic bread is the same dough as the pizza so more of a flatbread. The dipping sauce was good but probably wouldn't get the garlic bread again. Mushroom ravioli was a bit undercooked and over seasoned. Overall it's a bit pricey for just eh Italian food. Amazing spot in a little bit of the middle of nowhere with trendy dishes and cocktails that is both fun and unexpected. Has a very modern/contemporary vibe and upscale offerings and really exceptional service. Venue is big enough for large groups and had a fun energy. Food and cocktails were creative and a bit on the trendy side in the best possible way. The restaurant is positioned on the outer edge of a long oval drive of retail shops and restaurants like an outdoor walkable mall - appears to be a newish development that I can imagine in warmer months would be great to stroll around with kids/family to shop, eat and hang out. Again, unexpected little oasis that looks very promising. Would def recommend checking out the restaurant and neighboring shops. read more

Just updating my review to add pictures of my brunch meal! I love their breakfast pizza, I asked for maple syrup and hot honey so I can drizzle it on. They also had a special of garlic whipped ricotta dip and while the dip was good the star was the warm bread pocket. Their dough recipe matched with the brick oven is AMAZING. also we had a really sweet waitress who was warm and inviting. Always wanted to try this place so one evening I ventured out on my culinary adventure. Since they touted outstanding pizza, that was my goal. I sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of nice New Zealand white wine. The bartenders were efficient and friendly. The clam pizza was a true disappointment. It was undercooked doughy and lacked an abundance of clams. Cost wise, I thought it was expensive for what they delivered. I wouldn't recommend nor would I return for another meal. Also, I would probably have opted to sit outdoors since inside is very loud and noisy. My overall memory, very good wine! read more

I love the atmosphere here so much! The pizza oven that looks exactly like a mosaic lemon is the perfect touch. The pizza was amazing and so were the drinks! I love love Char and Lemon's happy hour menu! They have a great variety of cocktails to choose from and Margherita pizzas are only $6! They are the perfect personal size. For drinks, I tried the Black Berry Rush and their Summer Sangria and both were the perfect amount of sweetness. Great drinks for warm days. The service is great and the bartenders/waitresses check on you frequently throughout your meal. I've been here twice and was mostly impressed. Cocktails were different and yummy, very good apps and lunch selections, beautiful decor, excellent service. Not impressed with the pizza though - they don't use enough toppings. We got the slice of life pizza which had very minimal sausage and meat, and the roasted potato pizza had a few skimpy pieces of bacon. Left a lot to be desired. Ambience was good- I liked that you aren't squeezed in next to each other, plenty of space to be comfortable and move around freely. There is both a main level & an upstairs, we sat on the main level. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive- no complaints! They had so many appealing choices- but we went with the panko fried mozzarella as an app, which was very good. Crisp outside, gooey inside. And then we each tried a pizza, the Margherita & the burrata. Both pizza were pretty good, although mine, the burrata, wasn't exactly what I was expecting. I was hoping for more cheese. The toppings slid right off, making it hard to eat. The Margherita was good, but nothing extraordinary. We don't live in the area but would definitely like to come back to try something different! read more

10/10 service, food and ambiance! So excited we got to Char & Lemon this past weekend. What a gorgeous spot! We came to feast so we ordered a little bit of everything! We started with cocktails and absolutely loved the presentation of all of them! I really enjoyed the Shake This which was essentially a margarita. We also devoured the seasonal crostini as a starter which was covered with ricotta and warm apples & cinnamon. For entrees, we got two pizzas - a white pie (the Char & Lemon) and a red (the Alla Vodka). Both absolutely incredible but my favorite was the Char & Lemon which is no surprise as it's it's their signature! We also shared the Bucatini Limone which was a lemony pasta with mascarpone...WOW! I loved that everything had a hint of lemon on their menu, I wanted to try it all! We cannot wait to go back and try some more and enjoy their gorgeous patio in the summer. Good service, fun atmosphere, and delicious eats! Went today for lunch with my sister in law. The drinks were well done and the portions were well worth the price. Prices is mid range $$, but you could absolutely make a meal off the appetizers. We had the FRIED ARTICHOKE HEARTS with calabrian chili aioli and HUMMUS (white bean and pistachio hummus, garlic rosemary oil) with the house made sourdough pita. I recommend both but you would be making a mistake if you didn't get the hummus (both pictured with the CHARRED & LEMON'D and pear mojito cocktails) I went with a lighter lunch option -the beet salad with grilled chicken and was very happy with the flavors as well as the portion. Definitely will be back, but would love to sit upstairs next time!! read more

I called for service and a reservation on the busiest day, Saturday, and they didn't have any availability until 8:00. I walked in and told the manager that we were walking, yet we had called. They had a seat ready for us readily available upstairs. I never even knew that they had an upstairs floor in the restaurant area. We were served within 7 minutes. We were served right away with hummus and then had taken our time to talk and decide on the menu. The waiter asked if I had any questions. I said no, and we're ready to do our order. My son had ordered the Hey Meatball pizza, and I ordered the white pie, with 1/2 pepperoni and the whole pie with Rogatta cheese and spinach. Perfect!! The music is a bit loud but soo was the crowd. They had a TV on with Vineyards in the background. Around the bar on the ceiling, they have a false tree with lemons dangling above. Pretty cool touch. read more

So yummy! Drove by and knew I had to try it out and boy was I right. Very cute restaurant with great indoor and outdoor seating options. Drink menu was good and cocktails were delicious. The arancini changes weekly, but I had some with corn, manchego and chipotle and they were delicious. Pasta was excellent and the chicken cutlet was cooked to perfection. My fiancé recently surprised me with a surprise restaurant date night and brought me to Char and Lemon. We started with the mozz sticks. They were clearly homemade and tasty but not quite knock your socks off. For entrees we both had pizzas. My pizza loving fiancé had his usual cheese pizza (aka the New Yorker) and I opted for the lemon chicken pizza. My fiancé loved his pizza and said the sauce was A+. My lemon chicken pizza was delicious. Loved the combo off all the ingredients and the crust was perfectly chewy and soft and charred and delicious. My only issue was the chicken on my pizza. Wasn't very appetizing looking. Couldn't figure out if it was that precooked chicken which I despise or not. If they could give the option for crispy chicken that would make the pizza a 10. If I could give Char 300 stars I would. I had an absolutely wonderful time visiting here last night. The lemon and char theme throughout the inside are so cool, and I can't wait to come back and hang out with some friends on the upstairs patio. This trip I was solo and had a nice early dinner outside on the downstairs patio. The char & Lemon'd drink is a must have, and absolutely refreshing. I snacked on the crostini as an appetizer and the lemon zest gave it a flavor with a zing. I of course had the lemon pizza which was so flavorful, I loved it. And for dessert I went with the limoncello cake, which I def recommend you have with a cup of coffee. Absolutely refreshing, it's a great spot in CT that all foodies need to visit. read more
