My experience is based solely on a takeout order of a cheese pizza, I haven't dined in but plan to soon and will come back to update my review when I do! We ordered take out for our business meeting. The delivery was very friendly and kind. The order consist of Lobster Bisque Soup-bowl size, side of fries, and the Chicken Toscana wrap with portion of fries. The wrap was delish just wished for a little more chicken, but the presentation of wrap - awesome and delish. The Lobster bisque soup is smooth and always a pleasure. So, this was my first time to Bellisimo's. It was a very quiet Tuesday night night dinner with the family. The establishment is very clean and tastefully decorated. I love taking my first few steps into a business and getting slapped in the face by the aroma of garlic. Seriously, I do enjoy that! Anywho, this is how I knew this was going to be a good experience. Anywho, we were greeted promptly and told to pick any seat. This place seems to be family owned and operated. I ordered the house Pinot Noir and drank it purely because I do to like to waste, but sadly I was unimpressed by whatever the house was. When I reordered, I took the Cabernet which was wayyyy better. FYI!! Our hostess asked how I liked it and I told her my honest opinion. Consequently, I didn't expect her to take it off the bill because I did drink it, but she did so on her own accord. Thank you for that btw! The meal was very tasty. I had a special ordered dish, the veal scarpiello. The level of spice in this dish was great. For the past three years I have ordered pizza from this restaurant almost every week, family of 6 we spend anywhere from $70-$130 They recently hired new a young man to answer the phone and take orders and the last 3 times I ordered, Even after having I him repeat my order back to me they somehow still managed to get it wrong, I called the restaurant and every single time they want the food back( no problem ) but now, we have to wait another 45 minutes to eat once the correct item gets here.. no apologies , nothing , The owner of the restaurant had the audacity to call me this last time after we get the correct order and tell me that they're not gonna keep making new food for us, and told me not to order from them again.. probably the only halfway decent pizza there is in Naugatuck. And due to this extremely poor customer service and just blatant disrespect, With the money The amount of My hard earned money I spend with them, I would expect at the very least for them to get my orders correct. I recommend repeating your order back to them at least three times, and even though you're probably going to get an attitude from the rude young man answering the phone, Believe me it's necessary!! read more

Bestie and I stopped here after a morning of power shopping at Ocean State across the street. We planned on just grabbing a grinder, but the extensive pizza menu caught our eye, and decided on that instead. First off, service: It was good. There were already about seven tables occupied, and only one server. Bonita was in constant motion - taking orders, delivering orders, and somehow, in between, managed to get her sidework done. No standing around for her! Anyway, she presented our menus quickly, took a drink order and brought our wine almost immediately. We told her that we'd flag her when we were ready to order, and that was great with her. We poured over the menu, switching from one pizza to another, to an entree and back several time. When she checked to see if we needed more wine (of course we did!) she was happy to take our order. We started with a salad. It was prepared and delivered quickly, and it was more than enough to share between two people. Lots of crisp lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, and a ton of black olives. By the time we finished that (and another glass of wine), the pizza was ready. A magnificent thin crust that crunched when you bit into it. Lots of flavor in the sauce, and they didn't skimp on toppings. We planned on only eating half, but finished the whole thing. We skipped dessert (as we usually do - but this time, because we were so full) and asked for the check, which was brought over quickly. All in all, a very enjoyable experience, and we look forward to going there again. I don't know what dinner service would be like, but we may try that sometime to see if everything holds together. Really good pizza for it being Naugatuck. I always get the arugula pizza so good! And they deliver to middlebury which is great. My dad orders from here more often than I do and he is tough to please. He really likes the pizza and sandwiches. I'd say give it try if you're debating. Update: upped the 3 star to 4 star. I now know what to order and what not to order again. Things I wouldn't order again: Stromboli, garlic bread, clam chowder, fried food if it's delivery, in house they're great. I ordered a pizza and wings from this place on two separate occasions. The first time my order was given a 35min delivery estimate, however the pizza didn't show up till about 1hr 15 mins later, cold. I live less than 5 minutes away and when I called to ask what is taking so long, they had said the delivery guy is on his way right now, yet it took another 20 minutes getting to us. The second time, the person on the phone took my order down wrong, and then when I called to ask for my exact order they were telling me to wait and to return the wrong pizza back and that they will throw it away??? I've never heard of a restaurant making the food wrong but also wasting? I'm sorry... never going to order again from here. I gave 2 stars only because they made a new one free of charge, but the owner called me back 3 times to tell me 1) the pizza will be there shortly, 2) they're not charging me for the new pizza (which they shouldn't be since it was their mistake) 3) I got a good deal 2 pizzas for the price of one??? Kinda rude. Side note: (1) The first time the pizza was delivered the delivery guy said he was just down the street. But it still took over 20mins to deliver somewhere that's less than 10 mins away. (2) We never actually asked to keep the wrong pizza lol we just asked how long the re-make would be because we're starving & it's been longer than 1.5hrs so I mean compensate some way, am I right? read more

Bad bad bad! I have tried this place out two times now, unfortunately the first experience was too long ago to fully recall, however I remember being less than impressed. I gave them another shot recently, and it will be the last. I ordered a sausage and pepper grinder. There was absolutely no flavor what so ever, it was the most bland meal I have had in a long time. My girlfriend ordered a pasta with vodka sauce. This was a little more tolerable, however I found the same issue with this dish. Very very bland ....tasted like everything was made with a microwave. There are much better pizza locations around. Years ago, this used to be a Pizza Hut and while this place is better than that chain, there are so many pizza places in the area, I wouldn't settle for this one again. Prices are pretty high and the pizza really wasn't all that great. They skimp on the toppings which is a huge disappointment. The taste is just kind of average and really not worth the price. Had a Philly cheesesteak grinder here on a Sunday when my favorite place, Ayash-Man next door was closed and I really was let down. In comparison, it was more expensive and it tasted worse, just kind of a generic, bland flavor. Really forgettable and I should have just waited until Monday and gotten a cheesesteak at Ayash-Man instead of being disappointed by the one here. The location is nice, they deliver, but their food just really isn't all that great and it's pretty expensive too, so I can't recommend them. I like their food. But especially the people. The owners are nice and they're family is awesome too. They're our neighbors and even though they're a restaurant, they feel like any other neighbor except they make food. I love their wings. I am usually a saucey wing girl, they're not too saucey but fried great and great flavor. I also am a sucker for good chicken marsala. Probably the best I found in the area besides my own family recipe. My kids love the pizza and so does my fiance. Some of our favorites are the white pizza and chicken bacon ranch. If you're eating in, their new location is beautiful. If you're ordering for delivery all their drivers are respectful especially the one with the black nissan. read more

The food here is absolutely fantastic. I can't believe I haven't found it on Yelp so I'm adding it myself. Amazing wood fired specialty pizzas that you simply must try. The seafood salad pizza is unbelievable. Arugula and prosciutto pizza, *lasagna* pizza. Wow! I love their soups and salads and appetizers. Lobster bisque, calamari, everything is wonderful. I've never had a bad meal. This is a family run restaurant and you always feel welcome here. They are so friendly. It has become one of my favorites. More people need to discover it. They pizza is delicious, especially when you get it with fresh mozzarella. I had the goat cheese and arugula pizza. My problem with this place is they are repeatedly slow. The servers are all family members and it seems they all do the same inefficient multiple trips to the table. We weren't ready to order our food , but the girl didn't ask us if we wanted appetizers. Then we had to wait and then signal for her to come take our food order. The food took awhile to come out but when it did all the pizzas we ordered were delicious. This is my favorite place to get lunch from work. The chicken Caesar wrap is my favorite thing ever. The fries with it are crisp and delicious and the garlic taste is amazing in the wrap. Today I was so disappointed though. I took a bite of my wrap and it tasted different. Kind of like Italian dressing. Definitely not my favorite homemade Bellissimo Caesar dressing. I called them and they said that sometimes they don't have time so they got some from restaurant depot. I told them it was really no good which is kind of a compliment to their homemade stuff. No mention of a refund, no mention of sending one when they have their own dressing made, nothing. Owner is Rude and when mistakes are made, calls the customer a Liar. I only wanted them to be aware of the mistake and was not going to ask for a replacement until he insisted they didn't make a mistake. Calzone did not have ricotta cheese. When driver picked up he agreed he did not see any ricotta. 15 minutes later I got a call from the owner saying he saw it in there and I was just trying to get a free calzone. I paid for the one I sent back, How is that getting it for free?? And I had to wait while the made one the way it should be made. If there was Ricotta in it, it was so little it could not be seen. I wish I took a picture to post. I use to order weekly for years. Have come across other mistakes and never said anything. First time I do, and that's how I was treated. I don't think so....Back to Giuseppe's on New Haven Road where the food is good and they always make all their customers feel welcomed!! I ordered a calzone and have no complaints about it. How ever, my husband ordered a philly cheese steak and was very disappointed.

The pizza was great. The stuffed mushrooms...not so much...more like a giant meatball on top of a little mushroom. It was clean & the waitstaff was very nice, but my boyfriend and I went for lunch on Wednesday afternoon, were the only ones in the entire restaurant, and it took 45 minutes to get our pizza.
