I am writing to file a complaint about my recent food delivery. The delivery person left my order on the floor outside on my steps and lied about knocking on my door. Food should be delivered handed and not left outside on a dirty surface. I was home the entire time and received no knock on the door. When I called to report the issue, the owner responded rudely and unprofessionally, which made the situation even worse. This kind of behavior and lack of respect for customers is completely unacceptable. I expect an apology and assurance that this issue will be addressed with your staff to prevent it from happening again. I also believe a refund or replacement would be appropriate given the poor service I received. read more

Oh yeah, was I blown away by this small pizza joint with some big time flavor and character. Coming to this quiet area for work, I sought out a quick bite to eat next to the bank and with this being next door, it was a no brainer. Entering and it's already slowly getting busy with pizzas being made, a deliveries being sent out. Having some time to sit and relax, I decided to grab a slice of shrimp pizza and a chicken bacon ranch pizza to accompany my Dr. Pepper with the local news playing on the flat screen TV. I was able to beat the crowd as all the tables were filled up with different parties and more people in line to place orders and take out. I sat there enjoy my freshly made pizzas that were crunchy yet chewy with depths of flavor and filled with all the proteins. The slices were huge pretty much filling a dinner plate with the two slices. I liked that the toppings for each slice was filled with so many pieces; every bite I had of the shrimp pizza had a shrimp in it which is how it should be while the chicken bacon ranch pizza had crispy chicken cutlet diced with the bacon and a heavy drizzle of ranch. With the employees chatting up with the clients and the whole place being pretty homey, this place is a great place for lunch. Two slices of pizza $6 and a $2 Dr. Pepper...ummmm YES!! read more

This is a great place with one of the best pizzas I've had in CT. Wish they would have a location closer to Danbury, but I'm willing to drive for great pizza. Don't understand the so-so reviews of the place. I've only had pizza and grinders, so can't speak about the other items on the menu. They don't skimp on toppings at all. Great crust, sauce and fresh toppings. 43 different pizzas to order from in addition to if you pick your own toppings. That's crazy! The new location is bigger and has more parking. There's sure their service was just so nice and polite and their food when it got out it was freshly made cooked very thoroughly and when I say this, I mean it for me personally I would recommend the Jay's favorite or instead of Cajun chicken I would want grilled chicken. That is the best pizza that they serve, their boneless wings are also just amazing. They're cooked so well and they're just like so good. It's too bad that their service is by far the absolute worst!! Because the pizza is pretty damn decent. There's NO STRUCTURE! Last TWO times I've ordered to PICK UP was HORRIBLE! First time; after getting there in 30 mins they NEVER EVEN PLACED THE ORDER IN THE SYSTEM to be made! This 2nd incident they say it'll be ready in 25 mins.. get there in 30 mins and have me waiting in the tightest area in front of the cash register another 25 mins because a small pizza is STILL NOT READY! Hello, I recently moved to prospect and have ordered 3 times from home town pizza and I must say all three times have not been that pleasant but I gave them a couple chances because it is very close to my house. A couple times the food I ordered was luke warm or the food was just not that tasty and satisfying. The pizza is ehh, I guess it's good for drunk munchie pizza if you will. Idk if it was the chef that day who cooked it but I would suggest DO NOT order the eggplant parm. It was so mushy and the blandest sandwich I have ever eaten, I ate it because I was hungry and got all the way home so didn't wanna ask for refund. I don't think my dog would have even ate it. They just barely made three stars from me because the sausage parm sub was actually delicious the first time I ordered it and probably best sausage parm sandwhich I've ever had. The chicken wings were absolutely not fresh, but as tough as leather, like they were sitting under a heat lamp all week, unacceptable. Specialty pizza had barely any cheese or sauce, and no taste, the crust was ok. Garlic bread was "chewy" like it had been made the day before and microwaved to order. My food wasn't even remotely warm it was probably sitting for 2.5hrs just getting cold. I also ordered a slice of cheese Cake and asked for utensils as I was staying at a hotel. No utensils, delivery driver dropped it off at the front desk and took off. Food was gross especially cold, I asked for a refund and was ignored for two days. They finally offer me only a 20% refund. OK... I'm pretty sure my brother was conceived, and nourished on Hometown's Pizza! This spot is a family favorite for about a decade!!! And no, they are not anywhere as good as Modern in New Haven... or Baki's in Waterbury... But they are good!!! I can't think of one time in the past 8 years that my order has been messed up. They are all friendly, and catering, one of the biggest selling points. Seriously... if you knew my mother, you would know that she is NOT an easy woman.... she basically tells them how to make a pizza, every time she orders... and they still havent blocked her phone number! I've been a patron of this fantastic establishment since they opened up on just evenings and weekends in the early 90's, operating out of the Hometown Diner across the street from their longtime and current location. I regularly order from Hometown and have probably had 75%+ of the items on their menu at some point or another. While I'm particularly a fan of their very good and very consistent pizza, their pasta dinners are excellent, and their grinders are magnificent - I'm a huge fan of their sausage parmesan grinder. But an additional highlight is their "boneless hot wings"..... by far the greatest boneless "wings" I've ever had.... and I've had a lot of wings, with and without bones. The texture, size, and meat are perfection I eat a lot of pizza, from a lot of different and very good places. However, Hometown is my go to, reliable place. read more
