Hey folks! This is a tough review to write because I've genuinely been a fan of Papa's Pizza II for a long time. Unfortunately, it just doesn't taste as good as it used to. I'm not sure if it's new staff in the kitchen, but something has definitely changed. The pizza itself was noticeably thinner than I remember, and overall, it was just okay. Not bad, but not what I've come to expect from them. For context, this was a late Saturday afternoon order, so maybe timing played a role but even so, it was a bit disappointing. At this point, I'd probably choose Papa's on Naugatuck Ave going forward. read more

Oh man this place was amazing! I forgot the big guys name who runs the joint be he was so cool. Super accommodating and friendly. Best pizza I've had in Milford for sure! Stopped passing through. Casual pizza place offering New Haven 'apizza' a few minutes off the highway. Was ready in 20 minutes with friendly staff. Of note, prices are for cash with a credit card fee to cover the processing cost (3.5%). I personally don't care for pizza but found both ver good (white and red). The fried eggplant on one was well done with good texture between eggplant and breading. The white pizza was well balanced between garlic, olive oil and the toppings. read more

I inadvertantly placed my order w Papa #2 for a small mozz w half pepperoni. I usually go to the original shop on Naugatuck Ave. It's always great. After the error, I picked it up & tipped them. Got it home and saw that the pepperoni was heavily loaded & I reheated it in a skillet as I always do. It was way too spicy & hot! Couldn't eat the pepperoni & flushed it. Not like the previous. I wished I had ordered the sausage or plain mozz. Really dissatisfied. Would really like a credit for half at least. read more

Had one of there subs. I got the meatball. It was absolutely delicious. They hollow out the bread and then fill it up and put the dough top on it. As you eat it , get a nice crust filled with delicious meatballs. No worries about anything falling out. The owner made the sub and was super friendly. This place is a hidden gem. Let me start off by saying that I am quite the pizza snob (and yes you must drink Foxon park with a pizza) they DID NOT disappoint! Their sauce is delicious and flavorful, they have ample amount of toppings on each pie and just the right amount of crunch! There are plenty of house special pizzas they offer-- that sound incredible (next time I've got to try one). It's a tiny little spot but that's the way a abeeetz place should be! The staff is always so kind and courteous, pies are always piping hot and cooked to perfection! First time I had them was last week and I went for a cheese - simple but delish! Tonight we had a BOG (bacon, onion and garlic) and it was OUT OF THIS WORLD!! My advice: Grab a pie and a Foxon park and dig in! Such an awesome hidden gem! Really awesome pizza. My family and I are still talking about it. We arrived on the earlier side of a weekday lunch crowd. Lots of people were coming in for the $6 lunch deal of two large cheese pizza slices and two drinks. The guy working here - I wish I had caught his name - was very personable and accommodating. He helped us pick great pizzas among a very large and appetizing list, and he also cut our cheese slices smaller for the kiddos. I'd get either pizza we got again. That being said, I'd want to try so many more since the menu was robust. Perfect New Haven style crust. Nice sweetness of tomato sauce. Great price, too. I definitely recommend. read more

Been coming here for years, when my husband and I moved to Seattle this is the place we missed the most. Now we are back to the east coast we still find time to drive here from NJ every now and then. We finally got our hands on the Breakfast pizza! It is easily the best pizza in Milford and this pie does not disappoint. It's going eggs, tater tots, bacon and their signature hangover sauce. The crust is perfectly cooked and crispy. It only comes in a small but it was enough to serve the whole family with a side of fruit. You have to preorder or call right at 8 to see if they have any timeslots left but it's well worth the extra planning. We love this place and this pizza!! read more

Recently tried Papa's after hearing the word on the street about this place. We called ahead a few hours before we wanted to pick up as this place is Uber busy from what we heard especially on a Friday. I had a small sausage and my bf had a small cheese. Why wife and I were staying in Milford to visit family. Papa's Pizza was close to where we are staying, so we gave it a try. Their pizza was very good, which says a lot considering that the New Haven area is the capital of thin crust pizza (in my opinion ). Also, the service was quick and friendly. Before I start, I'm going to let you know that this review is only based off 1 visit and it was a takeout order. I heard good things about this place so I called up and asked for a take out order one day mid afternoon. Not sure what the issue was or what happened, but the order I place (Medium half cheese/half sausage) first off was not ready yet nor even put in the oven yet at the time I was told it would be ready by. After waiting for a few for the pizza to be ready, they charged me $23+ which didn't seem right but i took it anyways. When getting to the car to check on it, the pizza ended up being a Larger pizza way bigger than what a medium would be, and it was Full sausage. not sure the mix up or whatever, but i'm just stating my experience. On a positive note though, the pizza was really good with good flavor and cooked great, and made it all the way home retaining the heat and flavors, so that's a plus. Really good compared to most other pizza I have tried in CT. I had a regular cheese pie and a bbqchicken pie. I was going to say a little pricey but in this day and age I think it's reasonable. Wife Marilyn and I are big fans of Papa's Pizza, here in Milford CT. The "ah-beetz" is every bit as good as what we can get at famed Wooster Street in nearby New Haven, but there are no crowds of tourists and Yalies. There are just a few indoor tables, but because of Covid the heavenly food is available for takeout only, brought to your car in the parking lot. Normally Marilyn and I order a large pie (eggplant and onions, heavy on the sauce, light on the mootz, crisp but not burned) and we have four slices left over for breakfast. Tonight we wiped out the entire pie immediately, including the crusts. I don't know if the pie was extra-good, or if we were extra-ravenous, but either way the meal was magnifico! read more
