Don't let the name fool you. Sure, Panchos Pizza makes a good pizza, burgers, grinders, pasta dishes and more, but the Mexican food here is the star. It more than competes with any of the upscale Mexican restaurants in the area, and the prices are very reasonable. I've been ordering take out from here since they opened, and the quality has remained very high. Today I ordered The Chicken Enchilada dinner. They give you four enchiladas smothered in cheese and salsa verde, a small salad, and an order of rice and beans, and three kinds of salsas, all for under $14.00! No other restaurant that I know of gives you such an abundance of great Mexican food for that price. I also ordered a small Nachos Con Queso, which was also generously proportioned and delicious. I am pretty particular when it comes to Mexican food. I've had some of the best, having lived in New Mexico for three years. Panchos is as good as the best the Southwest has to offer. It's not "Americanized" Mexican fare, but remains authentically true to it's roots. Excellent Pizza! My wife and I had the" Pancho's special pizza". The combination of the Mexican sausage (chorizo), onions, beans and jalapeños was very tasty. I could tell it was good quality meat because I did not have to run to the bathroom immediately after the meal! I could tell they thought through the details of being safe during the coronavirus pandemic. We had ordered this over the phone and it was ready in 15 minutes for pick up. When I got to the restaurant, the door was propped open so I didn't even have to touch a door knob. They also had a huge plexiglass which separated the customer from the register. I've been getting take out/delivery from Pancho's for over a year, usually once or twice a week. It's usually good. A mistake was made with my last order. My husband ordered steak tacos and chicken was delivered. I called the restaurant and explained the situation and requested green salsa with the tacos. The steak tacos were delivered without the salsa, so I called and was told "I already gave you salsa." There was only 1 tiny container, which was poured on the chicken tacos before realizing it was chicken. The owner refused to replace the salsa with the steak tacos. I supported this restaurant during the entire year when so many were struggling. I will never order from Pancho's again.
