I always find cute stuff here in great condition. However, it has happened twice now, a pair of shoes had 2 different sizes and the ones I bought yesterday were not only 2 different sizes but both right feet! I can't return them since I took the tags off, so always check the shoes you buy. They generally have a great return policy. The employees are never in a good mood, I was in there over an hour yesterday shopping and could not get a single smile out of anyone who passed and at checkout. No one even spoke to me and I really needed some help as I'm shopping for 3 babies for a wedding, but was kinda afraid to ask. I spent $132 there yesterday, and they still weren't friendly, lol! I've sold here a few times, they do offer really low. It is a business, they have to resell the item, pay payroll, rent, utilities, so no, your not going to get anywhere near as close as to what they resell the item for. They dont always take all your items because they buy what they are in need of which is understandable. I just started donating to shelters that help families in need. Sometimes the wait for them to buy is a few hours. My time is more valuable than a few bucks. I gave 3 stars because I never leave empty handed, but the employees could use a remodel. read more

This place is a decent place to find gently used kids clothing. I rarely buy new clothes for mine because they literally grow out of it within weeks. I've sold some things here, I usually get less than I expect, but then again if I'm selling something wanting a specific price for it, I don't try selling it here. I usually take clothing here first before heading to Goodwill to see if they'll take anything, but if not, fine. I don't know why all the bad reviews say it's dirty. I've never seen dirty clothing or broken toys. It's pretty packed and a bit hard to maneuver, but not dirty. The staff is occasionally less than friendly. That is my only complaint. Maybe they're overworked. It's on par with most customer service experiences these days. Mostly Gen Z kids who don't want to be there. Not much different than everywhere else. read more

I've gone here several times in the past but yesterday I came to pick up some Halloween clothes for the kids and I had my worst experience.. I stood up at the checkout line (I was the only one there) and waited with my squirmy two year old for about 5 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. There was about seven women behind the counter and all of them looked miserable, like they hate their job. The unfriendly woman gave me my receipt and walked away. I asked for a bag and they said they don't give bags anymore. I was not greeted by a smile or any friendliness whatsoever. Talk about horrible customer service. I won't be coming back. While in the store shopping I over heard an employee, make comments about a customer the was in the store but had already left. The customer had sold items, and the employee in a black band tshirt, made inappropriate comments about the man, I over heard her using his slip to go as far as looking him up online. I don't feel comfortable knowing that employees have access to our addresses, phone numbers and other personal information. Don't waste your time here. The staff is incredibly, incredibly rude. If they don't know what an item is they won't take it even if it's very clearly a baby item. (Must not have kids?) Took my daughter here to pick up last minute items needed for new baby due this Valentines Day. Everything was clean, organized, well stocked and we could everything we needed. Granted, some prices are close to what you'd pay for at a regular store, but that was for brand new, unopened items that we would've paid more for anyway. Other brand new items, unopened, were close to 75-90percent off! And that day they had 10 for $10 onesies! All the ones we got were new! This place is the bomb! I like to go here when they're having one of their sales! Their prices without the sale isn't bad at all especially for gently used clothes that children outgrow so quickly but I like to go when they're even lower. Sometimes it's a hit and miss but with prices so low on Tote Bag Tuesdays you really can't go wrong. They also have their $1 clearance, and 50-90% off sales. It's hard to gauge sometimes because if you go at the end they'll be picked through already. So, if you are specifically looking for something go ahead and take a peek at their sales but most likely the prices will go down on the clearance items. Good place to shop if you don't need any help or want to make a return. Bad place to sell clothes, toys and miscellaneous children's items. Overall the service is always awful. They have at least 10 people working always (can't imagine how they make any money) and none of them are helpful. The deals on clothes is basically the only reason I shop. I had purchased a pair a pair of glasses which snapped the first time my daughter tried to put them on. When I went back to exchange the owners gave me such a hard time and made me feel like I stole them. They spent over 30 minutes looking through their computer for my name and my past purchases for over 4 years when I had just got the glasses less than a week ago. I do take some blame as i no longer had a receipt but they said they store their receipts on their computer. I asked if it was ok if they made a one time exception on these $4.99 glasses. They said that their process for exchanges is fool proof and that this was the only way they could do an exchange. They asked me what other items I had purchased on the same transaction. They finally told me they couldn't find my purchase history which included the sunglasses and that I couldn't exchange for the same ones. I told them It was for my daughters first trip to Disneyland and after asking they said they'd make an exception but that "i should feel lucky that we're even doing this for someone like you". The person handling this made sure to look me in the eye as she had not previously done at all at the end of the transaction and with a lot of judgement said " May god bless you" (long red hair) turned around and walked away. I stopped shopping here for two months. Today I went back because I figured I'd give this place one more try, and I had some toys and clothes my daughter has grown out of. The owner was the first person i saw and i could tell by her sudden eye opening and scowl that she remembered me. Their buying printer was down so it took longer than normal to process, but no problem I wasn't in a rush. I had a box of wooden Melissa and Doug puzzles organized in a box which when given back to me was a mess. When i asked about this the employee goes to me "I didn't process your buy. Do you really think that I have time to put these back together? I have other things to do." Someone else came over and agreed that they rush through the buys to get them done quicker which includes mixing puzzle pieces all together when they aren't going to buy them. All said with attitude and glares. So if you want a good deal on gently used clothes and toys-- great place. Highly recommend. If you want to be treated kindly as a paying customer, have your belongings treated with respect-- go somewhere else. I will not come back. read more

These people are swindlers. I dropped off three large totes with well over 300 items in them. They offered me $26.00 for everything. I told Ari that my wife didn't want it sold and we had brought in by mistake and I would be by in the next few days to pick it up. When I came in they indicated they threw my totes and all of the clothing into a donation bin in front of their store. The employee started talking about policy this and policy that which in fact the girl covered up on the counter when I came in. Also they never made it clear that if I didn't pick up the items they would be donated including when I was on the phone. They are Shady Shady Shady! I had by far the most interesting experience at OUAC. My husband and I finally purged they baby items as well as some toys our children had out grown. Upon entering, and seeing the size of the trade in order, the manager said, "you don't need me, right?" And left for the rest of the day. There were quite a few large items we had as well - baby swing, walker and a vibrating seat. One look at them and one of the employees said all of those items had been recalled. I did a quick look up and none of them had. On second glance same employee said they couldn't take them because they were "a little dirty" and I should "go home and clean them." They weren't, you could tell they didn't want to check in the order with how busy it was. I asked them if they would accept a toddler mattress, their response was "only if it was brand new and still in the plastic." I started to wonder what the point of a second hand store was, if they only accepted things in brand new condition. Because we had such a large quantity of items, they insisted we remain in the store for them to look up recalls and make decisions on items. After waiting two hours for them to tally everything up, they offered us $50! We declined and proceeded to pack up our car. When we asked for one of our boxes back the girl got snippy and said, "do you see a box around here?" Needless to say, we will never go there to sell or purchase in the future. I have always loved this store! It's been a few years since I've bought and sold anything to them. I'm from out of town so can only go when I'm in the area. I had quite a few things to sell this day Saturday July 2, 2022. The person who was helping me with my selling stuff was very rude, her name started with an A! I felt as if I was bothering her with all the things I had or something. My husband even noticed her rudeness towards me. I had 5 bins of very well taken care of things, lots of it brand new. They wouldn't buy anything from me because they said they found a few "cockroaches", in my stuff...i Had gone through everything while putting it in the bins. Traveling, some black monsoon beetles might have got in my bags but cockroaches? I wish at the store I would have wished to see the "cockroaches." I honestly feel like these people didn't want to go through my things just because. And other stores have told me even if there were cockroaches it's not a reason to turn everything down!!! I let them deal with my stuff and donate it I wasn't about to pack it all back up in the heat with my children and travel with it back home. Waste of my time. I wasn't even looking for money I wanted store credit. I bought a few things in my visit also, but I won't be returning back here! I have been to this place a few times and each time I go the associates there seem ruder and ruder. I took a basket full of barely worn baby clothes. Understand some peoples expectations of barely worn or clean are different, but I am very picky about clothing, not so much name brand but clean. About 15 minutes after dropping the basket off they called to say it was ready for pick up. I went over and the girl at the counter treated me like I was a idiot. They took about 15 items (ironically some were from a previous purchase there so double used) so great I was fine with it as I know they have needs at different times. The issue was when I got home and read the reasons why they would not take was pilling, stains and one other ridicules reason. There were items still in the basket with tags, sleepers that my son wore only once or not at all. I went again through every piece of clothing to find this so called stain and pilling to ease my thought not I was not seeing what the young lady saw and nothing. Even the white X-Mas outfit was spotless. Thank you for making it easy to share my irritations with hundreds and making it even easier to not take or buy anything from your store again :-) read more

I walked into this place because I remember it being a Hollywood Video. I figured it would be interesting to see what had changed. I can tell you, the Hollywood Video greeted people when they walked through the door. I walked the entire store and was never greeted. Weird feeling. Maybe I showed up at a bad time. The place has that overstocked feeling. It is sort of crowded and really doesn't have to be. A lot of the items seems reasonable in cost but I don't think I am the targeted market so maybe I am wrong. I am by no means an expert in store interior, employee training, or how a company should stock their products, but it might be worth asking other people who shop here about their opinions. Maybe like a comment box or something. Overall, pretty average experience but I am disappointed in your selection of DVDs. read more

I went in with around 50 pieces of girls clothing and the store took 30 of them and I left with $35 extra dollars in my wallet so that was sweet,better than $0 from donating to friends and family! BUT while waiting I took a stroll around and was a bit disappointed at the shopping collection, a lot of clothes where excessively worn out and where the same price as new clothes, shorts for $8 , I will say i have only visited this location ONCE so the inventory may have just been low at the moment but even so I probably wouldn't buy clothes here. I have been shopping at OUAC for over 11 years, since it was off of Val Vista. It's always been hit or miss, stuff is often dirty, gear is overpriced, shoes are just disgusting. But my kids have always loved looking at the big selection of toys and we have spent a ton of money there over the years, given the fact that we have 6 children in the home. This week my oldest daughter & I took the kids & granddaughter to look for halloween stuff. The older kids went off to browse the toys as usual but were sent back to us within 5 mins because they were told they can't be without a parent. Ok, no big deal. The next 20 mins or so the kids were within 4 feet of us. Of course they picked things up, they're loud, they're silly. Then as my daughter & I were standing with one of my son's while he was showing us a large stuffed shark, a worker stomped up, ripped the shark from his hands and said "you can't have that, bud, if you aren't going to buy it". Um. Hello. How did she know we weren't going to buy it, and why didn't she ask me, the parent, standing 2 feet away? I spoke with Tracy, a manager, and was told "I'm sorry, no one should have ripped something from anyone's hands, but your children have been asked numerous times to put things down, they've been running around the store, totally out of control". My jaw just dropped. My daughter was also appalled. My children were spoken to one time, and after that they were in my sight the entire time. Whatever made Tracy decide that lying about little kids to cover her employees error in judgement is beyond me, but it's not ok. We will never visit this store again. I've been selling things here ever since it opened and it works for me. It's important to keep in mind that the things your kid doesn't play with/fit in anymore aren't making you ANY money jammed in closets and drawers. If you don't want the hassle of listing/selling items yourself online, this is a good option. No, you won't make a ton of money, but you will likely make more than you will dropping it off in a donation bin (which is ALWAYS 0). The buyers can explain their pricing policy very easily if you have questions. Their new electronic check in is awesome and they'll even text you when your sale is ready. Go have lunch, shop around... THEN come back and grab your cash. Things to help make a good sale: 1. Wash, iron (if necessary), and lay clothes flat. Organize in baskets or boxes if possible. Take a Mr Clean magic sponge to those dirty shoes! Basically, make it easy and appealing for the buyer to look through your items. 2. Make sure toys are clean and in working order. Group small parts together in zip-top bags and bonus points if you can hand over the manual. 3. Smile. Be courteous. Have LOW expectations. Don't take things personally. I often hear, "You have great stuff, we are just at capacity for (x item) right now." You're not a bad person if they don't purchase your stuff- they just might not be able to take it at the moment! Money in your pocket, cleaned out closets, and low-priced toys now available for a new family to love... All is right with the universe. read more

I went in yesterday for their $1 clearance. First off, it just seemed like there was SO much stuff in the store . It's a little overwhelming at first. Pros: great sales and good clothes. You do have to pick through lots of stuff but it's worth it. Cons: the checkout took forever and they had few cashiers. I did sell a few of my baby's items and was able to use my credit towards my purchase which was nice. read more

They offer you next to nothing for your items which they turn around and sell for a 200% mark up. Bought new pair of name brand shoes $25 which retail for $50. We never wore so we went to sale back. Was offered $1.32. Needless to say we didn't sale. I get needing to make a profit, but $1.32 is insulting. read more

It's true that their customer service kind of sucks. I called on two separate occasions to ask if they had different items, one of which was a specific Halloween costume, and both times they said. "I don't know, we have a lot of costumes." That's cool and all, but every time I come in there is about 6 people working and it wouldn't hurt for one to get off their butts and go look since there all separated easily into sizes..AND because I am driving from 25 minutes away. That being said, I did find the costume I was looking for and it was reasonably priced. There are A LOT of items at this store and I can appreciate the quality of most of them. Their foster discount is only for licensed foster families... who get help from the state to cover costs of taking care of kids. Unlicensed foster/kinship families, who get no financial assistance and have to cover everything out of our own pockets, do not qualify for the discount. Very disappointing, I won't return. This company advertises that they buy clothes and toys, but what this really means is that they will accept your donated clothes and toys that are in only pristine condition, and basically give you a tip in exchange. I brought in two trips full of practically brand new toys, and they wanted them all of course, but they offered me $10. I turned them down flat. I would much rather donate these toys to children in need of them then take $10 for $200 worth of toys only to have them turn around and resell them for 50% of what I bought them for (or more). This is their business model. This is not going to change. I have sold to this store many times, and I don't know why I keep torturing myself this way. this is definitely the better location than the one on alma school. i called around and they were able to help me locate a specific carseat.. they had a brand new graco snugride carseat in the color i was searching for. it still had tags and everything...(they don't sell used carseats for safety reasons). the staff was really friendly even though they are all teenage girls. they have racks and racks of clothing!! i found onesies for like $1!!! they also have an abundance of resale furniture and baby accessories like exersaucers and bumbo seats. read more

If I could give them a zero, I would. I brought in clothes to trade in on Presidents' Day. One of my boxes wasn't returned to us. I called the store to ask where it was and they told me first it was donated, then it was given to another customer, then they just didn't know. I asked them why I would be donated or given to someone else if it had my name and phone number on it? They wouldn't answer the question. I asked them why they didn't call the number when they realized a big box of items was not given back to a customer (they kept it behind the counter). They again would not answer the question. They stated that this isn't the first time it's happened and refused to reimburse me for anything. If you want to risk having items stolen from you then buy all means go sell here. I will never sell or buy from this or any of their other locations again. read more
