Unfortunately, my experience did not match that reputation. The projects themselves had issues, but the bigger problem was the communication, lack of follow-through, and lack of accountability when those issues came up. To be clear, I understand that mistakes happen. Materials can be delayed. Defects can occur. Schedules can change. That is part of any home improvement project. What matters is how a company communicates, takes ownership, and helps the customer through those issues. That is where The Floor Store fell short in my experience. My carpet project started with a material shortage that left part of the installation unfinished while more carpet had to be ordered. That shortage also appears to have contributed to seams being placed in areas where they may have been avoidable if enough material had been ordered correctly from the beginning. The countertop project then brought a separate set of problems when a defect was identified and a replacement became necessary. Again, issues happen. But throughout both projects, I repeatedly had to chase down updates, ask for status information, and coordinate details that I believe should have been proactively handled by the company. The most frustrating part was the breakdown in communication between scheduling, installers, contractors, and management. Follow-ups that were promised did not happen. Schedules changed without proper notice. At several points, I felt like I was doing the work of the project coordinator just to keep things moving. What concerns me most is what happened after the projects were completed. At management's request, I took the time to provide a detailed written summary of my experience and concerns. I sent that on July 25. Weeks went by with no acknowledgment or response. I followed up again on August 11 and still received no meaningful communication. I also attempted to escalate the issue again before posting this review. That lack of response reinforced the exact concerns I had already raised about communication, follow-through, and accountability. I spent more than $20,000 with this company and expected a much higher level of customer service and project management. While the final products may be acceptable, the process to get there was unnecessarily frustrating and disappointing. At this point, I am posting this review because all private attempts to resolve or even discuss the matter have gone unanswered. I was not looking for excuses or an argument. I was looking for acknowledgment, accountability, and an honest conversation about what went wrong. Ignoring a customer after more than $20,000 in business is not acceptable. If ownership or senior management genuinely cares about their customers, their reviews, and the reputation of this business, I would encourage them to contact me immediately. I would still prefer to resolve this directly and fairly, but that requires someone from The Floor Store to actually respond. Future customers should know that when things go wrong, communication and follow-through matter. In my case, that is where The Floor Store failed. I hope management chooses to take this seriously, because this experience has completely changed the way I view a company I originally trusted.

We even paid for the "non-toxic" carpet and pads, but apparently the glue+pad they delivered was not the actual EPA-approved product we selected in the store. When we spoke to Shane, a manager at the store, he offered virtually no help and told us to remove our poor review. Marcos 'lead installer'; refused to park in designated spot to accommodate his large trailer then tells us there's nowhere big enough on property to cut carpet & install! After calling salesperson about having no idea large space was needed to cut carpet then finally connecting to GM Paula about inexplicable lack of communication on BB part (she agreed), Marcos assures me he can & will cut carpet at Bb warehouse then return within an hour or so & install master bedroom carpet. Installers leave & never return. I spent hours proactively following up on where Marcos was only to be told by Chris (Marcos supervisor) he allowed Marcos to go home b/c Marcos wasn't satisfied with designated parking spot! Said he felt it was "a hostile work environment." every vendor has parked there; no vendor ever complained nor refused to park there. Marcos lied to me about completing job, Chris complicit in this lie. I prepaid thousands of dollars to have a subcontractor take it upon himself to walk off the job b/c he 'didn't want to get another ticket from the police' (parking spot 100% legit/legal numerous people from management team trying to accommodate him). Paula & Chris then assure me that carpet CAN be pre cut at warehouse. After a very long & exhausting move, Paula at BB did a 180 by denying they ever told me this saying "no one at Baker Brothers from salesperson to scheduler to Paula to installer was aware nor educated on the type of carpeting I ordered...sorry." Paula repeatedly dismissed that Marcos lied to me/blew us off. Ended with passive aggressive 'we apologize that you're feeling frustrated.' No accountability on BB part. Refuse to reimburse me...keep saying I have to find a space on property for them to cut carpet!! Paula & Chris refuse to tour property themselves despite 2 invites to do so. However, when they inspected my air ducts, we discovered that they were in really bad shape and badly needed to be cleaned. I scheduled Voda Cleaning & Restoration to come out, and I was extremely impressed with how careful they were. They took great care to make sure they didn't bring dust or debris into my home while doing the work. Once they finished cleaning the air ducts, the difference was **amazing**. It was like a miracle--I could breathe much easier, and my eyes weren't watering anymore! I honestly wish I had known about Voda Cleaning & Restoration a long time ago. We used Voda's professional services on June 4, 2025, for mold removal and remediation. Such a…read morebummer to have discovered mold behind two shower enclosures while we were remodeling, but Voda came in and saved the day so we didn't fall too far behind schedule with the remainder of trades needed to finish remodeling! (And, thankfully for us, the mold was caused by tile not being sealed in the shower niche where shampoo/bottles/soaps are placed - the mold wasn't from a plumbing issue.) One thing we found out while searching for a mold remediation company is that pricing is all over the place here in the East Valley. And after speaking with a few realtors, it became clear that not everyone can be trusted to do the work well. For our specific situation, we weren't sure if the mold had spread under the concrete floor of the showers. Two other companies said there was no need to remove the concrete flooring; however, Voda's estimator video conferenced with his remediation crew during the free-estimate-walkthrough and they were certain it needed to be removed in both showers. Voda was right - the concrete shower floors needed to be removed so the subfloor could also be treated. Voda was not the least expensive, but they were the most thorough and inclusive of all work needed to be done -- and when dealing with mold removal/remediation, as a homeowner, you want to know it's gone. Voda's workers are certified and they treat your home as if it was their own (possibly even better because it was incredibly clean when they left!). Also, an unrelated, third party environmental company tested the two shower areas after Voda was finished -- and our shower areas passed the tests! Voda works with insurance companies to help you if you have a claim, and they also work directly with homeowners (like us) when it's not covered by insurance. Given Voda's other excellent reviews online, we can agree with all the other 5-star reviews. We highly recommended Voda's professional services!
