Paid $60 for uncut fabric to use for a baby wrap. Wasn't enough fabric, wasn't cut into, just simply not enough fabric for what I needed it for. Wouldn't do a return but there is no policy (that I know of) stating that I can't return uncut fabric. The lady getting the fabric was also rude and did not let me see if the 4 yds would be enough. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service I received at this Michael's today. I placed an online balloon order for a graduation and had two phone calls yesterday with the store confirming details about my order. When I arrived today, the first employee I spoke with, Anna, immediately had an attitude and told me that the confetti balloons I purchased cost extra to fill with helium and that they hadn't filled them because they weren't sure if I wanted to pay the additional charge. I asked why that wasn't mentioned during either of the two phone calls I received yesterday, especially since I was on a time crunch today. Her response was essentially that she didn't know and that I would need to find someone else to help me because she was busy. Then the manager, Jason, was called over to assist me. One of the letter balloons in my order was a J when I needed an L. I acknowledged that there had clearly been a mistake when the order was entered.. I was not arguing about it or blaming the store. However, Jason repeatedly told me that I had entered the wrong letter. After hearing it multiple times, I finally said, "I understand, you've told me three times. Whatever needs to be done is fine." He then responded by telling me AGAIN that I would have to pay for the replacement because the J had already been inflated and the order had been entered incorrectly. Again, I had already acknowledged the mistake and had absolutely no issue paying for the correct balloon. There was no reason to repeatedly point out that I had made the mistake or speak to me as though I was refusing to take responsibility for it. Mistakes happen. I ordered the wrong letter, and I was completely willing to pay to correct it. My issue is the unnecessarily rude and condescending way the situation was handled by both the employee and the manager. A simple, "No problem, we can get you the L, but because the J has already been inflated we'll need to charge you for the replacement," would have been perfectly fine. Instead, I left feeling like I was being scolded over a balloon order when all I was trying to do was pick up graduation balloons and get where I needed to be on time. Customer service and basic kindness go a long way, especially when a customer is being cooperative and willing to correct their own mistake. This interaction was unnecessarily unpleasant from the moment I walked in. And this isn't my first negative experience at this location. Sophie was wonderful and I appreciate her kindness read more

I felt very disrespected by a young clerk in the cashier area. I wanted to go to a human cashier and not a machine. I am an elder and like old-fashioned human customer service with only a cash register involved. At one time I liked the small hometown atmosphere of Michael's. The way I was treated today at the 1721 S. Stapley, Mesa, Arizona location. It makes me not want to shop there again and go to competitors. I had wanted to go to a cashier. I was told "No" 4 times and that I had to use their machine. I am hoping that this person And Others could be trained in different ways to say no or to honor a customer's " No." I do not shop where my "No" is not honored --Especially when a younger person is saying "No" to an older person. read more

Over the past few weeks I have been here a few times to pick up Christmas decorations. They have some nice stuff, although it's a bit limited. For a craft store, I was surprised at how much they had but wish they had a little bit more. Every time I've been in here, it has been easy to move throughout the store and the check out and returns process was pretty seamless. This location is conveniently located next to Walmart so whatever craft-related things you can't find at Walmart, Michael's is an option and vice versa. Most of their Christmas decorations are produced by a company called Ashland and they make some pretty nice stuff. Just be prepared to be covered in glitter. read more

They didn't have a few things we were looking for but online it said they had it. But trying to get help is ridiculous only saw one person and that was the cashier. They had a lot of clearance but the shelves were empty so you might as well remove the tags. Overall in my opinion their competition Hobby Lobby has a better customer experience. read more

FRAMING experience NOT SATISFACTORY Needed a Frame for a 39" x 23" print. Michaels always has ad flyers mailed out and knew they had store coupons on framing once in a while. This week's coupon was for 80% off framing. Great! This is one of greater discounts I have seen in a while and would be a good time to take advantage of this price reduction. *Note that the framing discounts are usually for certain styles only. The associate was able to help pick out a frame and matte spent the time with me while I decided on the selection. It ended up being a 40" x 27" frame. I was told the frame would be complete by the next week and would get a call when it was done. After a couple weeks I had not received any word on my frame. I called and they said that their warehouse was in Texas and due to recent inclement weather, the shipping of the frame was delayed. I told them I did not receive notification of this. After that day, I received an email from the store manager after the fact about this delay. It was now week 3 since I ordered. I called again to find out if it was done. Apparently my frame was done, however, I had not received notification it was. When I went in to pick it up, the frame construction was poorly done. There was glue and gaps on the corners. Also, one of the corners was completely misaligned. I asked them to re-do the frame and they said it might take a while to get the frame shipped but they will expedite once they got it in. I called the next week to see if the frame was complete and they said they have the frame but the head of the framing department was supposed to work on it and they were off. It took a month and a week to finally get my frame. If this had been a gift, it would have ruined the occassion. I don't know if Michael's contracts with Aaron Brothers for their framing but this was not a good representation of either company. read more

She not only looked after my art work, but also she listened with empathy to my story of what had gone wrong that day. She was knowledgeable & had a very keen eye for colors. She explained how a colored frame can use, a secondary, not the main color in the art work... We disagreed on the color choice of the frames. I chose the color that I liked best, however I know that each time that I will look at my art I will not only see the art or the frames, but I will also remember what a nice person she was to me. read more

He steered me to the perfect color mat for the piece as well as a gorgeous frame that really complements the art--and fits perfectly with my decor. He was knowledgeable and helpful working within my budget and although I spent a bit more than I'd planned, I never felt that he was pushing me for a bigger sale. This store offers you everything that you will ever need to make crafts or build something pretty. I am bummed that they put their holiday decorations on sale before the holiday even happened. This causes the items to be sold out fast. It frustrates me when I want to buy craft items for my 2nd grade students. Everything is over picked. When there is a long line they only have 1 person checking people out. I thought Ulta Beauty was the only store who did this to their customers. The store has many items from decorations, scrapbooking, cake making and floral arrangements. They also offer wedding items if you want to go the DIY route and be creative. I called your store to see if you carried an item, you do carry it but it doesn't qualify for curbside pickup so we must go in. The price of this item is more than double why hobby lobby sells it for so I reach out to online support to see if you'll price March it, they confirm yes, a few days later my husband goes in to buy it and is directed to a sign that says they don't price match as of March 27th. This is the experience I had in the Framing Department. Now mind you, my sister was a professional framer back in the 1980s at The Harvard Coop in Cambridge, MA. She did beautiful framing jobs for them. So I have a high bar for whoever I use as a framer. I found Daniel at the Stapley Dr, Mesa location. He was very thorough in explaining the different frame types and matts, and spoke of different ways to present the art work or prints I brought. I had an idea which I explained and he also had a great idea. In the end I used his idea because it was better. Daniel did such a lovely job and I am pleased that I found someone who knows their craft. It really is an art to frame artwork. I will definitely bring more art & photos to him to frame. This is one store that frustrates me! Often, whatever I'm in search of, I can't seem to find. I go from one side of the store to the other with little luck of finding the isle it might be in as well as finding an employee to assist me.Very Frustrating!!! We had the unfortunate experience of dealing with the manager of this awful establishment Andrew. He was rude and condescending from the very start of the conversation. He belittled my wife while on the phone and his sexist condescending attitude was appalling on all fronts. He's a disgrace to retail and needs to be fired immediately. When we asked to speak to his manger, he replied that he was the manager. When we told him we didn't appreciate his tone or his handling of our concern, he proceeded to hang up on us. He's a spineless reprobate that deserves to be fired. I hope his managers find this review and take action. I will be posting on all social media, the BBB, and any other places I can write a review. This store is the best!! My parents went there and were looking for a frame to fit a picture, and they had their actual frame with my sister's wedding picture on it. They actually forgot it in the store and went home. Later after an hour we came back to ask for it, Thomas the manager helped us out and kept searching for it everywhere and actually two more helped us too. I left my number and 2 hours later Thomas called and told me they found it!! I am extremely happy that they helped me out! Tried out Camp Creativity today it was tons of fun. Brooke did a great job explaining how to do the craft and helped out when needed. The project takes about 30 minutes to finish, the kids can also color when they finish. They have 7 weeks of craft on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to noon the cost is $3. Definitely a nice way to beat the heat. read more

Super new location. Therefore, it is big, nice, and clean. We went late on a Wednesday and the store was practically empty. There were barely any customers to be seen. I imagine this is typically the case during weekday nights. The staff was friendly. This location has loads of ribbons and ribbons. So if you need ribbons of all kinds, small, large, pre-made, in all shades and colors, this is the spot for you. They also have tons of frames and flowers. Loads of canvas as well but I couldn't find any circular ones, which is what I was searching for at the time. It was a little difficult to find what I needed. I feel like the location was better before it moved but the parking is million times better so that's a huge plus. The new store appears to be set up great for crafting events with multiple meeting rooms in the front of the store! I look forward to them offering a bunch of different options to explore! read more

I came to this location yesterday in search of some items and had a terrible experience with an associate named Linda. She was unhelpful and rude and made my shopping experience unnecessarily stressful. She was even short with another associate who was also trying to help me ( very unprofessional and embarrassing). I called and complained about my situation to the Assistant Manager Andrew and he was very apologetic and kind towards me and my concerns. I will continue to shop here and steer clear out of linda's way from now on. I really appreciate how Andrew handled my situation. On a lighter note: This store is basically new and absolutely beautiful. All items I have shopped for are well stocked and the lines are always short!!! 5 stars for customer service (from Andrew and Kristen), cleanliness, and product availability. read more

I didn't think to ask anyone but I believe this store is to replace the store that used to be at Baseline and Gilbert Road which I had heard closed while I was out of town. This store seems to be much bigger and it is in a huge Shopping Center. Being a bigger store it seems to have a pretty wide selection. I did notice that the store had a totally different feel from your average Michael's which are usually pretty consistent across the country. It looks different on the front and it feels different on the inside with the cement floor and the Box Store atmosphere. I didn't find the Yarn I was looking for but I did find another one that I liked so I bought it with my coupon instead. I would probably come back to this store. There's a huge parking lot in front of it and I didn't have to park very far from the front door which I appreciated. The clerk was very nice at the end. read more

Had my daughters birthday party here on Saturday, not only was it a good value but the kids had a lot of fun and the room, staff and party itself is accommodating to children with special needs or in wheelchairs. The kids all got to paint and make crafts to take home, the staff are very friendly and helpful and my daughter said it was the best party she has had. I have been buying art supplies for my tattoo shops from this place for the last couple of years, price and selection are competitive with other stores but they usually always have sone kind of coupon or sale, the staff here is always very helpful and the location is easily accessible. read more

I've only come here once so far for picture frames and some Christmas ornaments/decorations but even during a busy weekend near the holidays happening it didn't feel cramped or like a pain to deal with being there. Plenty of staff made sure it was easy to get any questions answered as well. Massive parking lot (too big for the entire area honestly). Clean. Probably will come back from time to time mostly for frames and some other decorations. read more
