My friend suggested selling kids' clothes and toys here. This Gilbert location seems to be a lot pickier than other Once Upon A Child stores in the valley on what they would buy. The store is located near a Goodwill, so whatever they do not buy, I donate. We brought a gently used toy, but was told that they couldn't find it online to accurately price it (strange since it was a toy from last Christmas). When you drop off your items to sell, you will need your Driver's License. A $5 coupon is printed on the receipt, but it is off the purchase of $25 or more (I had to ask since it didn't say). You can wait there or receive a text when they have reviewed what they would like to buy. The average wait times whenever I drop off items to sell has been at least three hours. You can not leave your items overnight. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. If you want more money for your items, I would not sell here. I prefer not to deal with Facebook marketplace and will continue to come here. read more

What I've discovered now that my son is having his first child, prices have definitely gone up with the same quality. Honestly, you're better off buying it new on Temu or SHEIN. At least is brand new and the prices are way cheaper than the stores. And if you're worried about manufactured in China, then remember everything in your big box stores like Walmart, Target and the Baby stores also get their stuff from China. I sold two of my daughter's old Bumbo chairs because now she's 7 and I don't plan to have anymore kids. I listed these two chairs online with no luck so I brought them to Once Upon a Child. For two chairs, I got 18 dollars. Great condition, no rips, tears, stains or missing pieces. Felt totally ripped off. The customer service? Atrocious. We love this store! I often find name brand baby clothes (Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, etc) at an affordable price! Every single pair of shoes my baby has owned is from here. And my boy loves playing in the toy section in the back! I wish I knew about this place before I spent hours on Facebook marketplace looking for good deals on strollers/baby essentials. Also the staff is always so kind and helpful! I was just in today and one of them was helping me figure out how to put on a baby carrier. My friend and I recently went to this location and encountered the worst customer service with an employee called Hayley she has red hair (ginger hair). I brought so many different items to go through. And good quality ones too! I brought clothes, toys, NEW baby bath items, play pens. In one bag there was a particular item that was NOT suppose to be in there and taken to the cleaners. Fast forward, it was my turn to be helped and as I walked up to the register not once did she look at me and greeted me but just jumped in and said "um yeah I can't take any of those items because one item had a stain" I proceeded to ask which item? And she said just one of them" i immediately knew what she was talking about since I had to take that practical item to the cleaners. The point of the story is that she did not let me get one word in when I tried to explain that item wasn't suppose to be in there and that's my fault. Every item I brought was in great condition and also NEW items never out of their box. Definitely don't shop here. Very rude girls. There needs to be better communication and customer service. I've sold here a few times so I've come to expect being offered low for my items and the prices being rather high these days (Old Navy has better sales honestly)... but this wasn't the problem. The problem are the young employees who severely lack communication skills. The girls working could not seem to simply state "hello, we will be with you in a minute!" Or anything remotely resembling friendly and helpful communication. As I'm standing there staring at them, nor did they attempt any type of friendly greeting. Are they not training staff well? For some people, this might be their first experience in the store. If I was a new mom, I would have been so disappointed. I sold two diaper bags here -- one brand new and another in very gently-used condition (that I previously purchased from this store) and got $30 for both. I still shop here but I purchase no where near as much as I used to and if you're not the first in line to sell them something expect to be waiting several hours. You can leave and pick your items up when they are ready but when you live 30+ min away it's not very convenient to have to wait several hours. Absolutely terrible customer service when selling items to them and they don't give a crap about your items. Been to this store 3 times this past month to get rid of some of my kids clothing. Today I had everything on hangers hoping they could look at the items easier and then it's easier for me to deal with the ones they don't buy when I get home. Well today she brings me the go backs and places their bin with their dirty bottoms and places it on top of the other bin with clothes in it and ruins some of my shirts. Don't waste your time selling here. I drove 30 minutes to get here, brought in several bags of very gently used toddler clothing, two full bags of shoes, and four packs of diapers. After waiting an hour (which is honestly not bad for this store) they took a very tiny pile of clothes, three packs of diapers, only one pair of shoes, and they gave me $18 whole dollars. I left with just as many bags as I brought in and feel completely ripped off. I should have said no thanks and left with ALL of my items but I was so flabbergasted. All of my daughter's clothes and equipment were in mint condition and they would only offer a few dollars for a full bin of brand new and barely used clothes. This was my first time ever going into a Once upon a Child store. I was soooo excited and was looking forward to it! After spending time on your website and learning how your store works I was really looking forward to bringing items in that I spent the entire weekend cleaning out my daughter's closet. I arrive there at 7 PM not 705 not 710 at 7:00 PM. I entered the store with a cart full of items I wanted to sell. When I walked in, one lady who worked there made eye contact with me did not say a word and walked right past me. You could tell I was lost ,you could tell I had never been to the store before, and she did not say one word to me. Not even a hello. I then approached the counter where there werethree employees behind the counter, and the same lady from earlier was at the counter and still no one had said a word to me. . So total of 4 people. Not one of them said hello or acknowledged me. I stood there for awhile and then started to wonder how long this was going to last. About 3 mins goes by and a tall guy Finally looked at me and said, are you ready to purchase? I said no I'm not purchasing. I am selling my items. He said it's 7 o'clock. We don't buy anything after 7 o'clock. Our counters are closed for the night. He was not sympathetic or friendly about it at all. And that being said, there were four people working there that night, and not one could help me because their store was about to close in one hour. Nowhere on your website or your phone record recording does it state that you guys don't bring in anything after 7 o'clock. Or someone who works 9am-6pm and rush to your store to sell items ,I was really disappointed. Truthfully, I wouldn't have minded the 7 PM rule, but I had honestly felt like the entire environment was so unfriendly and no customer service what so ever. All the employees look so upset to be there no one was friendly. For people to work at a children's store you would think there would be more hospitality in that kind of environment. Where to start - I've been here to buy stuff and it's ok I guess. Today was my first experience in selling and I have never seen such unprofessionalism ever in a business. The trend I've seen of the workers are they are cold, no personality, condescending, and rude. Today was no exception - somehow worse? By far the worst experience with this store yet, I have bought and sold items before so it was to be expected and definitely will not be back. I drove 45 mins to get here and sell some shoes that my girls no longer fit in. Each pair of shoe was either brand new in it's original box or like new without any marks or tears. I waited behind 8 other people for about 2 hours, to be offered $22.50 for more than 4 pairs of shoes one pair being snow boots. The employee said "we're giving you about $2.50 for each." And then said "you can remove some items but it would probably change depending on what you remove." I did not take the offer as I don't think it was worth the drive nor the price for each shoe. Not just that but as soon as I walked out the store and got into my vehicle I noticed one of the employees pointing at me, I should have came back inside to address it but I'm not in anyway good at confrontation. I buy and sell here maybe 1-2x a year. The staff has always been friendly. Sometimes the racks are stuffed and it's hard to easily look through them. They also don't always button the items and so I usually end up buttoning everything to make sure nothing is missing... just kind of a hassle, but I do like that I can find a select few cute and trendy items for a decent price. My experience selling is ok. They usually buy the majority of what I bring, but offer very little for everything they buy. For example, they offered $104 for 86 items... compare that to the 9 items I purchased the same day for $49 .. it's definitely not worth it to sell high value items here, unless you are ok accepting very very little for them. For me, it is what it is. I'm trying to get rid of excess clothing. With that said, I do wish they paid sellers a bit more, especially because I feel like they used to pay more per item. Tips for sellers- Wash everything before bringing them to the store to sell. After drying, lay everything flat to minimize wrinkles. Be proactive and remove all worn/play items. I like to organize items by article, for example pants and bottoms separate from shirts and etc. and also pair sets together so it's obvious they go together. read more

I used to love this store. I understand that pricing everywhere went up but unfortunately their pricing here is extremely bad. Found some super cute old navy outfits but they were 5.50. I go to old navy sales all the time and I get the same outfits for 7. I'd rather pay the extra $1.50 and get the item NEW with no stains. They also price the brand m+a (from Walmart) for $7.99 when you can buy it new for $10. Cat& Jack pants are $4.50 but new in store they're $5 or $6. Prices just don't make sense. And I know I know, "if you don't like the prices then don't shop there" which is exactly why I won't be shopping here anymore. I worked for kid to kid for years (a similar store) and once upon a child was so much better with selection and price so I sent everyone here. I tell everyone to go to thrift stores instead or eBay. Better prices. It's ridiculous to go here when you want to save money and get things for $2 cheaper than normal price. Better off just going to regular stores when things are on sale, which is ALL THE TIME. ONLY thing here that is priced reasonably are their sleepers. Horrible service. They do everything in their power to get toys brought in for free and rip off customers! We drove 1.5 hours to donate brand new toys and like new toys and we're told they could take the toys but they couldn't pay us until tonight at 7pm 5hours from the current time. We asked if they could email us store credit for next time.... They said they do not do that. We then asked since they already made us an appointment for a later time, if we could just come back Monday (today was Saturday) to collect the money from the toys and take home the ones they didn't accept. The lady very rudely said that they don't do that. I even offered to have 15 percent of the value of the toys removed from the total they would pay us if they would let us return Monday and again they would not budge. With our experience, once upon a child lost a customer and likely many friends of ours as well. It's obvious they make the process soo difficult and are inconsiderate of people's time in order to attempt to preasure people into just leaving the toys or getting upset and not returning later. To get funds for the toys. With this policy I'm sure they get a large amount of their items for free because let's be honest who wants to drive back out to a place 5 hours later to get maybe $10-$15 bucks for $300 worth of toys. read more

I've been lucky enough to find some of the nicest pieces at this location for my daughter next to brand new or brand new. Every week on Monday her school announces a themed Friday so you'll find me combing the aisles for something to join in on the fun! I've found, shoes, leggings, beautiful dresses, themed tutus, hair bows, and a few little people castles. The employees have always been accommodating, in fact when I was purchasing i needed to ask for something to be taken off because the inside might not meet my child's sensory needs in terms of the scratchy fabric. The young lady at the register explained she understood and rang up my order again because I told them late in the transaction, no fuss, no he's time, pure understanding from them. Listen, I don't know why these reviews don't add up to my experience, but I do know I practically come here twice a month because it's the closest children's store to Eastmark and every single time I have found something worth my time and energy. So to the owners and employees of this store, thank you for loving kids enough to do the work. My daughter and I thank you for this place and all the fun memories you guys have facilitated! You're likely better off donating clothes than selling here. Ive tried selling here twice and can confidently say I'm never coming back. I have name brand, like new baby clothes and have gotten pennies after waiting ALL DAY. I was told I had a 4 hour wait and planned my day around that. A little after the 4 hour mark, I called to ask how long. They said I was up next and it would be done in about 30 mins. Drove 30 mins to the store and they said they had STARTED going through mine. Walked to another store to wait and came back another 30 minutes later and they needed another 15 minutes just to enter everything in!!! With 5 people on staff, I swear they moved slower than molasses and no one seemed to have any idea of an accurate time estimate. It's absolutely ridiculous to treat customers like this.
