Out of all the lock smiths we called in Chicago, On The Go was able to come the quickest which was much appreciated! It took the Locksmith about 25 min for him to get here which was the estimate we got. We also got an estimate of price ahead of time and it was the same when the guy came! This was back in the summer but when he arrived, he was not wearing a mask (hopefully does now), but we were and were staying 6ft apart. He tried for about 30-45 minutes to get the front door to open with no movement and would go back and forth to get his tools so it was comforting he had them all there ready. We then moved to the back door and after another 30 minutes he was able to open! There was no damage to either door or the locks so that was great! Was able to charge with credit card right after which was also a plus. Overall he got the job done so I would recommend this company to others, especially for their wait time and accurate estimation. Other businesses were quoting us 2-3 hours but then called 45 minutes later saying someone was ready. read more

He let me easily reschedule for the next day once I located and purchased my desired hardware. He helped rekey multiple locks and install a new Schlage smart lock. Fucking SCAM! The $35 service call makes it appealing. I waited 90 minutes for a tech to show up. I needed a spring loaded lower lock fixed on an exterior door. I had the handle removed and the inner pieces exposed and everything prepped and ready for the tech. I thought it would be a simple task and $50 MAXIMUM. The tech showed up and JAMMED a screwdriver in to break the lock piece. Did not even bother to troubleshoot the inner locking piece. The $35 quickly became $85 and I told him to get off my property when he said that it would be another $175 to replace the lock piece he just BROKE ($125 for a basic replacement). I had to spend another $35 at Home Depot for the replacement parts. Overall, with the time I spent waiting for the tech, and having to get a replacement part myself, I am very dissatisfied and CANNOT recommend this repair service. I would give it ZERO stars if Yelp let people leave an accurate star review. read more

I'm the board president for a 6 unit condo. I'm feeling badly that I called this company for servicWe used this company in August 2018. We immediately had to call they back out at least twice for locks that stuck and wouldn't open. Today, I was locked out for 15 minutes. My dogwalker just called and he can't get in either. You are getting one star because you at least responded to our first calls to fix your poor installation. Now this has disintegrated into a safety concern. The outer lock won't turn and the inner doors lock just fell loose out of the door. I'm updating my review to a 4. The last person that came out on Monday, removed the old locks, upgraded them and reimbursed the condo the cost of the old locks. We paid the difference between the old locks and the new ones. It's not a good feeling standing outside your securely locked front door, frantically checking your pockets, only to realize none of them contain your keys. The locksmith, Kurt, called me back within minutes to confirm my address and let me know he was on his way. He arrived within half an hour and was able to pick the lock without a problem. I locked my keys to my bedroom door in my room. This is a normal lock nothing special. I asked how much to open this door.... I was quoted $35 just for the drive and $80 to open the lock. $115!!!???? For a 5 minute job!? He then said he'd do a even $100. WOW thanks so much for the HUGGGEEEE SAVINGS. *sarcastically* You know what I did instead??? Went on YouTube. Yes no lie YOUTUBE. Looked up how to open locks and used the credit card trick. Bent my card Slid it into door and WAM! It opened. Took me 2 minutes and saved me $115 from a rip off guy. I'd suggest if you have a locked bedroom door google or YouTube search first and try it yourself before you end up wasting hundreds of dollars. You're not paying for talent, you're paying for laziness. This guy is absurd to charge as much as he charges for such a simple job. Thank Goodness I decided to research after that ridiculous quote. If he had quoted lower I would've paid him! Honestly happy he quoted so high because it made me get off my butt and figure it out myself and would ya look at that. Simple UPDATE: I ended up getting locks installed and went with a different company. The pricing was AFFORDABLE and they are PROFESSIONAL as well. Take it from me, this places prices are INSANE. Has nothing about doing a job a easy way/ wrong way/ right way. It has to do about ripping people off with over the top prices. Super happy with the service. Amanda came out on time, was very knowledgeable, and was able to fix several issues on our old house. Our house was built in the 1920s and the original lock is on our front door but it was having issues. Not many companies I called seemed knowledgeable or comfortable with the lock that old and just wanted to replace the lock, amanda was able to keep all thr original lock and hardware and shine it up. Yesterday our front door lock failed - which since the side door lock had already failed - meant the only available entryway was through the back patio door.... I absolutely was thrilled with the service provided to me today. Amanda was dispatched to our home because my kids locked us out of the house via the garage entry (small lock on door handle had been turned - this is important for later... haha). We ran over to the neighbors since it's the middle of winter and I expected to have to wait for a bit. Out of all the businesses I contacted, he was the only one offering free service call for an estimate. What's even better is that they can come anytime, which is great for working people like me so that I don't have to take a day off waiting at home for them. They are even willing to come out at 10:30 pm! My problem was not that urgent so I had them come over the next morning when my husband is home. About a month ago, I was locked out of my vehicle and a technician came out. I was quoted $75 on the phone, but charged $175 upon the tech's arrival. I paid it because my phone was dying, so I had no other choice other than to pay it or be stranded. After the incident, I called and complained and they informed me that I had been overcharged by their contractor. They asked what could be done to make this better. I said I wanted a refund of what I was overcharged. They refunded me the $100, and then wanted me to remove my bad review in exchange for the refund. I elected not to remove my review. Why would I remove a review in exchange for being given back money that was essentially stolen from me by this company's contractor? Since this time, I've been called multiple times, have received multiple voicemails, as well as text messages and a yelp message asking me why my review is still up now that I've been refunded. I've had to block more than one phone number from continuously calling me. The entire situation has been absolutely ridiculous. I do not want to be contacted by this company again. read more

We were moving to a new office and needed an video intercom with an electric slide to open our door on the first floor from the second floor. Kurt gave us some great options, pricing, and a did an excellent job installing and making sure we took advantage of all the features that the intercom offered. He also took the time to check up on us days/weeks after the job was already completed. He came a week later to make sure things were working for us and we identified a problem door lock on another door where keys were used to open/lock both sides of a glass door. He said he would come back and install a thumb turn on the inside. He did come back today, however, I was not around to pay him. He told me on his text that he installed the lock and he was not going to charge me. I couldn't believe that but it's true. Excellent customer service.
