Strawberry crepe. Dogwood margarita from next door.

In town for work so looking for a nice meal on the road. Something different. Chose a strawberry crepe for dinner on a cold November day. The food cart truck worker suggested sitting inside at the Dogwood. So my sugary dinner ended up paired with a margarita that was divine. The crepe was fresh strawberries and a nice thick whipped cream inside. Definitely would order crepe again!

This cart is at Ponch's Place- a great corral with good drink options. On a Wing & a Crepe offers wings and crepes, touting world flavors. I tried jerk chicken wings and marionberry goat cheese crepes. I will admit this place is legit. They care about flavor, at least according to what I ordered. The jerk chicken is the best jerk chicken flavor I've found in Bend- at a moderate spice level. Probably a 3.5 out of 5 spiciness and I'm tasting some depth of flavor. Wings were cooked well, I prefer slightly crispier. Crepe itself is pretty classic, and held together better than expected. I thought the ratio of goat cheese to marionberry was slightly too much goat cheese- I wanted the marionberry to bite through probably 20% more, but the texture was pleasant. Will be back to try Huli Huli wings. Person next to me said she liked the Korean style gojuchang ones. Service goes through phone/voice vs buzzer. Workers (assuming owners) felt like they cared about my choices and what quality they're putting forward.

Strawberry and Cream crepe. I had to stop myself from eating just to take a picture.

I am sitting here trying to wait for more room in my stomach so I can finish this strawberry crepe!! It is so good, there is no longer a reason for me to wait for a table at McKay Cottage. I will definitely return and highly suggest you give it a try too!!

I like the crepes and wings, it's a nice food truck area, somewhat spendy but it's ok because the worker is chill.

Wings are made well. Crispy, with a good amount of sauce. No mushy wings here. Great service from Stephon. Recommend the Jamaican Jerk.

Restaurant Review - Fire on the Mountain - Bend, Oregon…read more I had lunch here with a friend and his wife, whom I just met. This is a very casual restaurant. In fact, pretty much everything about Fire on the Mountain is casual. The staff was mellow, and it is a standard walk-up, order, get a number, and find-a-seat setup. That part went smoothly. We sat outside, which was a comfortable space. The whole restaurant feels airy, relaxed, and yes, very casual. Our order came out fairly quickly. The food was presented well, but this is where the experience fell short. My Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich lived up to its name. It was just that, a straight-up chicken sandwich. Nothing really set it apart from what I could throw together at home. The tater tots were straight out of a school cafeteria or from my own freezer and air fryer. Two thumbs up, however, for the Hawaiian Punch. I checked with my dining companions, and they agreed their meals were on the average side. One mentioned her BBQ chicken salad was overdressed. "Doused" was the word she used. The other said the barbecue sauce on his sandwich was thin and bland. Prices are right in line with what is common these days. Sandwiches run about $16 to $17, with $2 to $3 add-ons for cheese, bacon, etc. With tip, lunch for the three of us came to about $59. That is standard for Bend now, though it still stings. I pressed the printed ticket button but never received one, and I did not bother to ask. Not a big deal. Overall, it was a nice lunch with good company. The space is pleasant, and the staff covered the basics. But the food did not stand out, and there was nothing about the experience that would make me suggest to friends, "Hey, let's go to Fire on the Mountain." I will probably pass on a return visit.

I was initially very hungry when I first got here so I gobbled these wings down. The blue cheese is bland. It was really the highlight of why we chose the place. I don't want this to ruin anyone else's experience. This is my own. I do believe that the wings are not bad at all. It's just that they could be better. I got the wings to go, but I didn't get a peek inside and it looks like a nice place to sit down and eat. Nice TVs somber music... newer building. I would say that the wings are about a 7.5 out of 10 . My bias comes from being from the southeast. The food is just a little different a lot more flavor packed, but I would probably come back again if I were in the mood for wings. _- I should've started with the pros, but if you've read this far, the pros were the wings do come out fresh, they taste juicy, and that is always a big Turn on. No one likes the taste of processed wings. The other pro is the flavor is generally not awful. It's moderately good. So. Give them a shot :) -- If I were going to elevate this dish, I would pair it with a 10 year blue cheese with more crumbles, and add a little bit of more Parmesan cheese to the garlic and Parmesan flavor.

Yay! It was the best veggie burger my husband has had in a long time... he added avocado and vegan cheese (which did make it a bit pricey). Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! Would come back again!

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.
