First time here in Bend, OR and was craving chicken wings. This place didn't disappoint. Food for great and satisfied our craving. Also had to add an update picture of their menu since the one I saw on here was from 9 yrs ago.

While taking a road trip to Oregon, we found this gem while visiting family in Bend. The wings were delicious. During our visit, we opted for the all-you-can-eat boneless wings, which were totally worth it. Try the fried okra; it's a delight. The brews on tap were also a plus. The staff was very welcoming, especially since our group consisted of 12 people. The decor inside was perfect for family pictures. We will definitely be stopping by on our next trip to Bend to try the new flavors.

Nashville sandwich with fries. Great fries.

An independent fast casual eatery, Chicken Bonz serves up ... chicken. Lots of it. It was their Nashville hot sandwich that drew me here. I've spent a good deal of my life in the South and have a taste for a good Nashville. And that's what CB's version was, good. Not great or very good. The sandwich comes packaged with a nicely cooked piece of chicken seasoned with what tasted like ordinary bottled sauce (another commenter mentioned Frank's Red Hot and that might be right - might not) between two pieces of toasted bread. I'm not a fan of the toasted bread, much preferring a bun. The toast is a bit too abrasive (literally) on my mouth. Fries - cut almost shoestring - are excellent. Service was a bit of a struggle at the register but it might have been the young man was new to the job. Especially given the current restaurant hiring crisis (dismal), I'll easily give that a pass. His not wearing a mask properly? Not so much. The adults in the room need to explain to him a basic of human anatomy: the nose is connected directly to the lungs. With the arrival of effective vaccines easing the severity of the pandemic, including loosening of covid guidelines, wearing a mask has become less mandatory. But especially when you're a server in a restaurant, if you're gonna wear one, wear it.

Had the boneless wings (tenders) today and they were dry and tough! For $15, this was simply inexcusable.

Restaurant Review - Fire on the Mountain - Bend, Oregon…read more I had lunch here with a friend and his wife, whom I just met. This is a very casual restaurant. In fact, pretty much everything about Fire on the Mountain is casual. The staff was mellow, and it is a standard walk-up, order, get a number, and find-a-seat setup. That part went smoothly. We sat outside, which was a comfortable space. The whole restaurant feels airy, relaxed, and yes, very casual. Our order came out fairly quickly. The food was presented well, but this is where the experience fell short. My Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich lived up to its name. It was just that, a straight-up chicken sandwich. Nothing really set it apart from what I could throw together at home. The tater tots were straight out of a school cafeteria or from my own freezer and air fryer. Two thumbs up, however, for the Hawaiian Punch. I checked with my dining companions, and they agreed their meals were on the average side. One mentioned her BBQ chicken salad was overdressed. "Doused" was the word she used. The other said the barbecue sauce on his sandwich was thin and bland. Prices are right in line with what is common these days. Sandwiches run about $16 to $17, with $2 to $3 add-ons for cheese, bacon, etc. With tip, lunch for the three of us came to about $59. That is standard for Bend now, though it still stings. I pressed the printed ticket button but never received one, and I did not bother to ask. Not a big deal. Overall, it was a nice lunch with good company. The space is pleasant, and the staff covered the basics. But the food did not stand out, and there was nothing about the experience that would make me suggest to friends, "Hey, let's go to Fire on the Mountain." I will probably pass on a return visit.

I opted for the Sticky Gochujang and Jamaican Jerk (six each), thinking that would provide two disparate tastes given my experiences with both. As it turned out, not so much. Both sixes of wings were well prepared and quite tasty but were also (over)loaded with sauce. I normally expect jerk wings to be dry. The Korean wings were not so much 'sticky' as drowned in sauce. Frankly, the flavors were similar. Prices are high but that's what you have to expect these days in Bend. The wings are not small as some have suggested. Fairly normal sized, I'd say. Haven't tried a crepe yet but the photos look enticing. I give this cart a thumbs up although next time I'll try the Old Bay style which friends have reported to be of the dry variety.

Well, except the wings which were a little dried out, but still edible. Sadly she threw the menus on the table, asked what we wanted to drink, instead of standing at the end of the table (face to face) she hid directly behind me, which was odd, rude & a bit creepy. The gentlemen behind us who had a straight shot of her backside were completely enjoying. We asked her to please come to the end of the table so we could ask some questions about the food/menu. She copped an attitude and immediately turned into a snot nose. At that moment, we should have got up and moved to another food servers area, or left because it went from bad to worse. Enjoyed the delicious burgers but my guest ran out of water, mine glass was still full. I looked around for our server for several minutes and finally saw her heading our way with a water pitcher with very little water & oddly, no ice. She passed up the booth in front of us and came directly over to my glass, which was totally full to the brim, and sloppily poured water in causing it to overflow. Oddly she never filled my guest's "empty" glass. Perplexing to say the least. I turned to get her attention as she made a B line back to the kitchen, ignoring mine & the request of folks in the booth behind me. I glanced at my glass, and it was milky/cloudy looking with food particles swirling around in it. She apparently scooped up dirty dish water from the kitchen and brought it out to serve to me. Wow! Appalling behavior & extremely disturbing service. It takes a pretty heinous individual to do something so disturbing / horrific. Needless to say she received zero tip, clearly does not belong in the food serving industry. I tried contacting the pubs owner, Greg, to no avail.
