First time here in Bend, OR and was craving chicken wings. This place didn't disappoint. Food for great and satisfied our craving. Also had to add an update picture of their menu since the one I saw on here was from 9 yrs ago.

While taking a road trip to Oregon, we found this gem while visiting family in Bend. The wings were delicious. During our visit, we opted for the all-you-can-eat boneless wings, which were totally worth it. Try the fried okra; it's a delight. The brews on tap were also a plus. The staff was very welcoming, especially since our group consisted of 12 people. The decor inside was perfect for family pictures. We will definitely be stopping by on our next trip to Bend to try the new flavors.

Nashville sandwich with fries. Great fries.

An independent fast casual eatery, Chicken Bonz serves up ... chicken. Lots of it. It was their Nashville hot sandwich that drew me here. I've spent a good deal of my life in the South and have a taste for a good Nashville. And that's what CB's version was, good. Not great or very good. The sandwich comes packaged with a nicely cooked piece of chicken seasoned with what tasted like ordinary bottled sauce (another commenter mentioned Frank's Red Hot and that might be right - might not) between two pieces of toasted bread. I'm not a fan of the toasted bread, much preferring a bun. The toast is a bit too abrasive (literally) on my mouth. Fries - cut almost shoestring - are excellent. Service was a bit of a struggle at the register but it might have been the young man was new to the job. Especially given the current restaurant hiring crisis (dismal), I'll easily give that a pass. His not wearing a mask properly? Not so much. The adults in the room need to explain to him a basic of human anatomy: the nose is connected directly to the lungs. With the arrival of effective vaccines easing the severity of the pandemic, including loosening of covid guidelines, wearing a mask has become less mandatory. But especially when you're a server in a restaurant, if you're gonna wear one, wear it.

Someone forgot to tell me it's a high school cafeteria with snappy music. At least it provides work for young people.

Had the boneless wings (tenders) today and they were dry and tough! For $15, this was simply inexcusable.

Fire on the Mountain Buffalo Wings - Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich (no-onion or lettuce) - Fire on the Mountain - Bend Oregon - 9-24-2025

Restaurant Review - Fire on the Mountain - Bend, Oregon…read more I had lunch here with a friend and his wife, whom I just met. This is a very casual restaurant. In fact, pretty much everything about Fire on the Mountain is casual. The staff was mellow, and it is a standard walk-up, order, get a number, and find-a-seat setup. That part went smoothly. We sat outside, which was a comfortable space. The whole restaurant feels airy, relaxed, and yes, very casual. Our order came out fairly quickly. The food was presented well, but this is where the experience fell short. My Straight-Up Chicken Sandwich lived up to its name. It was just that, a straight-up chicken sandwich. Nothing really set it apart from what I could throw together at home. The tater tots were straight out of a school cafeteria or from my own freezer and air fryer. Two thumbs up, however, for the Hawaiian Punch. I checked with my dining companions, and they agreed their meals were on the average side. One mentioned her BBQ chicken salad was overdressed. "Doused" was the word she used. The other said the barbecue sauce on his sandwich was thin and bland. Prices are right in line with what is common these days. Sandwiches run about $16 to $17, with $2 to $3 add-ons for cheese, bacon, etc. With tip, lunch for the three of us came to about $59. That is standard for Bend now, though it still stings. I pressed the printed ticket button but never received one, and I did not bother to ask. Not a big deal. Overall, it was a nice lunch with good company. The space is pleasant, and the staff covered the basics. But the food did not stand out, and there was nothing about the experience that would make me suggest to friends, "Hey, let's go to Fire on the Mountain." I will probably pass on a return visit.

I was initially very hungry when I first got here so I gobbled these wings down. The blue cheese is bland. It was really the highlight of why we chose the place. I don't want this to ruin anyone else's experience. This is my own. I do believe that the wings are not bad at all. It's just that they could be better. I got the wings to go, but I didn't get a peek inside and it looks like a nice place to sit down and eat. Nice TVs somber music... newer building. I would say that the wings are about a 7.5 out of 10 . My bias comes from being from the southeast. The food is just a little different a lot more flavor packed, but I would probably come back again if I were in the mood for wings. _- I should've started with the pros, but if you've read this far, the pros were the wings do come out fresh, they taste juicy, and that is always a big Turn on. No one likes the taste of processed wings. The other pro is the flavor is generally not awful. It's moderately good. So. Give them a shot :) -- If I were going to elevate this dish, I would pair it with a 10 year blue cheese with more crumbles, and add a little bit of more Parmesan cheese to the garlic and Parmesan flavor.

The bartender let me try two but that was my preference. The pretzel was delicious. I'm not a huge beer cheese fan but it was hot and delicious with the mustard around the outside. We were curious about the cask beer which apparently is warm (or room temperature) and flat- not what you look for normally in a beer! The nice bartender let us try it just out of curiosity- not for me! I'd come back to try lunch or dinner.

Yay! It was the best veggie burger my husband has had in a long time... he added avocado and vegan cheese (which did make it a bit pricey). Awesome that you can do many different sides including regular fries, Cajun fries, salad, chips, and more options... do wish they had onion rings however. I got the hummus plate which was good but not the best I've had. It came with a baguette which was more like garlic bread so I would have, personally, liked pita more. It also had a few olives on the side with a red pepper type sauce. I got it with no pickled onions. They had a great beer selection and even a few tasty non-alcoholic beers. Also had kombucha on tap which was delicious (from Humm). Everyone working was super sweet and the vibes were relaxed and casual. Our food came out quick and exactly how we ordered it. They also seemed to have spaces for larger parties, too. They also have a little gift shop if you wanted to pick anything from shirts, to bottle openers, to beer candles and more! Would come back again!

The owners closed up shop downtown and created this new place on 2nd Street in Bend's Central District. It's now called Dogwood at the Pine Shed. Why Yelp won't create a new, distinct page for the Pine Shed is beyond me. That said, the Pine Shed is a fine place for drinks and food truck fare. The open, spacious 'shed' has plenty of varied seating surrounding a nice bar with quite a few tables outside on the patio. Mobility-challenged folks have choices too. For those worried about 2nd Street's reputation for sketchiness, don't be. Revitalization efforts by the city have transformed the area. At times of good weather, with the big doors open, the Pine Shed is quite a nice spot to relax. Cocktails were the raison d'etre for the former incarnation of Dogwood and that emphasis transfers here to the Pine Shed. I particularly like their versions of a margarita but the other cocktails are uniformly good too. The beer tap offerings are not so spectacular, however, with only four (and a cider). On one visit shortly after they opened for business, two beer taps were tapped out, which can be chalked up to growing pains. In any case, the Pine Shed can't be seriously regarded as a tap house in the style of the many others in Bend (On Tap, River's Place, Crosscut, The Lot, The Podski, Midtown Yacht Club, etc.). Come for the cocktails. They do offer low ABV and zero ABV drinks. At present, the food truck choices are abundant and pretty decent. Being trucks/carts, and thus mobile and prone to relocating themselves, I'll not list them here. Best to check the Pine Shed's webpage for current offerings and then go to the relevant Yelp page for reviews. Parking is street only, no parking lot. The city has completed construction on 2nd Street so there are more spots available than before.
