The worst flight experience all the around. Employees are extremely rude and clearly not happy. Multiple systems on the aircraft did not work. Would highly recommend paying more for a better airline experience read more

I just took a military chartered flight from Thailand to Washington with layovers in Japan and Alaska. On the flight from Thailand to Japan I had easily the worst flight attendant I've ever had on a flight. Candace was rude to every single solider that came on board. She would yell at them to hurry then tell them to slow down. She would hit the backs of people's seats to make them bring their seat backs up instead of asking them. I understand it's a flight full of military but we should still be treated like a human, even if we're soldiers. Okay, I guess I can't complain ... I remember taking Omni to Vegas 10 years ago and hated it. What I remember was the very strong lavender smell that came from the bathrooms. It made me nauseous .... small plane, no ventilation ... you get the gist. However, new planes .... I was surprised! We opted for premium seats, which really wasn't anything special except you got to go on early and sat closer to the front of the plane. It's still small ... two seaters by the windows and three seaters in the middle. We were in the middle. In my opinion, it's still small, it's still cramped, not much leg room .. but I was able to sleep and get up to use the bathroom. Two very important things!! They have free movies, games and music on the screens on the back of each chair. They had a bunch of Marvel movies, so when I wasn't watching those ... you could find me passed out! The free meals and snacks were nice. Going to Vegas we had some kind of meatball, char sui chicken thing. Ate the chicken and one meatball .. it was weird. Snacks we got peanuts and before we landed they gave us a Melona bar. Coming back we got hot turkey sandwiches and chips. I remember some yelpers mentioned they got food poisoning after eating it. But, I was okay. I still only get drinks in cans with no ice. After what my flight attendant friends told me about that it's always stuck in my head now -_- It wasn't a bad flight really. Just spoiled with spacious seatings lol Would I take it again? Only if I booked through Vacations Hawaii (which is what mom did) .. other than that, I'll stick to Hawaiian Airlines. read more

Omni air wasn't bad. I mean my expectations wasn't high because I know this was a charter flight and we got it as part of the Vacations Hawaii package. HNL to VEGAS - I thought they were well organized. It was easy to find the check in, followed by going through the TSA line. The terminal was surprisingly far from the TSA check in. This surprised me because most of the passengers are senior citizens. The plane had individual video monitors, so watching movies, shows or playing games are a great to make the flight go by faster. However, remember to bring your own headphones! They charge $5 if you don't have a pair. The hot meal was a burger or chicken sandwich. Which honestly, was pretty darn good. The dessert was a melona bar. VEGAS to HNL - Check in was a little slower than at HNL. Mainly because they drop us off by the bus load and everyone is trying to check in at the same time. I wish they offered self-check in kiosk. The meal on the way home, wasn't good at all. They were offering a chicken or egg salad sandwich. Both tasted pretty meh. read more

This airline is part of the package deal with Vacations Hawaii. My mom, aunties, sisters, and friends fly on this airline between Honolulu and Las Vegas twice a year. FOOD: A hot sandwich is offered on every flight. Choice of Hamburger or Chicken - sometimes it's Ham & Cheese or Turkey. (I like to bring my own food.) The snacks are great! Melona ice cream bar is served as dessert. So glad they changed it because it used to be an ice cream sandwich that was difficult for kupuna to bite! Yes, there are many senior citizens on this flight because the package includes transportation to and from the airport, plus luggage service from curbside to hotel room and back! Note: No mileage rewards program, but they do send coupons for $50 to $100 off once in a while. The new planes are so much better! Each seat has its own screen for various movies (almost saw 3 whole movies), television shows, and games! The music selection is quite extensive! Service with the Aloha Spirit is as good as it can be. Some workers greet customers with, "Hi Auntie!" (So sweet!) Just present your photo ID to get your boarding pass and you're on your way! If you have a check in bag, it's $25 additional charge. I can only remember ONE time that we were delayed. We were compensated with a meal voucher to be used at the airport. So - for over more than ten years, my mom, aunties, sisters, friends and I have enjoyed pretty good service! read more

Charter flight for Vacations Hawaii HNL-LAS. We were in "comfort seating". Seats are no bigger or wider or more comfortable than regular airline seats, nor is there more leg room, so am wondering whether it's worth the difference in price. But the food service was better, I think. 3 drink services, meal service, small ramekin of nuts after takeoff, frozen Melona bar after meal. I had a diabetic meal which was junk. Carrots, broccoli, and spaghetti with too little tomato sauce. My seat mate Myles had a bento which looked ok. read more

"The tale of the wayward luggage" (Or stuff happens) The last time I went on a Vacations Hawaii Vegas trip was in 2004 and by extension, Omni airlines. Over the years we would book our Vegas hotel stays and air flights on our own but this year we decided, " let's see what Vacations Hawaii now has to offer" and how Omni air is now. This review focuses on our most recent experience with Omni air , another will discuss Vacations Hawaii. For the Vegas Vacations Hawaii trips they are using the 767, the 2/3/2 configuration. There are individual screens for each passenger with a variety of free programs including movies and tv shows. There are three classes of seating, first class, upgraded and basic coach. Only first class has more leg room. The other two classes have the same type of seats but the upgrade has some perks. While the movies are free the earplugs are not. $5 a pair that you keep. My skull candy earbuds worked fine- just bring your own. What's nice about Omni is that you are fed both ways- nothing fancy but still acceptable. HNL to LAS- we had a choice of turkey/cheese or cheeseburger hot sandwich, chips and a small cookie. About an hour before landing we received a Melona ice cream bar, that hit the spot. Coming home, we had a choice of a hot turkey or roast beef sandwich, chips and a small KitKat bar. The after meal snack was a bag of Diamond bakery chocolate chip cookies. ( wish we had the Melona bar again). Other reviews have mentioned problems with possible food poisoning, we had no problems and friends that I know who have flown Omni haven't had problems either. (Knock on wood) The service was fine, the attendants were efficient and somewhat friendly, not grouchy at all. They were better that some flights that I've flown on United. The one problem we did have was one of our luggage didn't make it back to Hawaii. Because there was a humongous line we decided to use the curbside check in. We watched the porter take our IDs and bags to the counter, he came back with our baggage receipts and plane tickets- again very efficient. When we arrived at HNL and went to the baggage carousel, we patently waited for our luggage. Da boss' luggage came out fairly fast. We chatted with some other passengers about whether they won, loss or broke even, etc. then the realization hits, as the crowd gets smaller and smaller, our bag might be the last one out (someone has to be the last one, right?) or even worse, no bag. We waited and waited until it was just us and an older guy in a wheelchair. His bag popped out and off he went on his merry way. The sinking feeling had hit rock bottom- no bag. Crazy thoughts raced through my head: what if someone cockaroached it after finding out that it was our Omiyage stash, what if it had ended up in Timbuktu? The Vacations Hawaii rep bagged out and dropped us into the Omni reps lap. After checking in the back a couple of times He had us fill in a form describing the bag which would be faxed to Vegas and a tracer would be put out for the bag. The rep told us that once in a great while the scanners that route the bag read it wrong and the bag does indeed end up at another airport or the bag might have just missed our flight and would be routed on another one. Either way, if the bag was found, the rep said we could either pick it up or have it delivered for FREE. If not, we would have to file a claim and negotiate the values. So, I'm thinking, the only Vegas long shot we hit is losing da luggage- sheesh :( 24 hours passed and still no word from Omni. We were getting ready to get our receipts and inventory list together when we received a call from Omni telling us da bag was found and would be available for pick up the next day in the afternoon. This morning, Sunday, we received a call that the bag was already in Honolulu. Evidently to expedite the delivery of the bag (since Omni only has one flt a day) they put it on an earlier flight with Hawaiian Air. Was able to pick up My bag at Hawaiian's baggage service counter on the ground floor a couple of hours earlier than promised. Everything was intact, no damage. Guessing the bag missed the flight because under the scanner all the Omiyage stuff must have looked weird and they probably did a thorough check and missed the flight. We had that notice in the luggage saying it had been searched. In any case, a relieved and happy ending, happy with the service provided by Omni Air. read more

OAI is affiliated with Vacations Hawaii which is the company that my family used to book our vacation to Oahu. Staff is very friendly. Meal and entertainment were provided on the flight as well as a dessert snack. I had a comfortable flight and that says a lot because I hate flying due to a fear of heights. I recently returned from a two week holiday in Honolulu traveling by Air Canada and Omni Air International from Vancouver . Both legs of the journey were to be by OAI but mechanical problems on the outward leg meant our flight was transferred to a regular Air Canada 777. I was delighted for a premium of $71, to get my favourite seat at the front of economy class with loads of leg room. The flight home was the scheduled Omni Air. I arrived at the airport in plenty of time for the flight but discovered Air Canada's system was down and there was a two hour wait while they sorted that out - not Omni Air's fault. It would have been nice if Air Canada could have handed out water (temp was in the low 80's), no seating except for a wall, and no washrooms close at hand. The flight eventually left two hours late. I had managed to again book the bulkhead seat (7H) at the front of economy and found it very comfortable if a bit tight widthways. The leg room was great and I liked that I had access to underneath the last seat in premium for storage of my personal bag. It was a red-eye and I had no problem getting a few hours sleep. Service could have been better, AC comes through regularly offering water or other drinks, on Omni I think we had maybe two go-rounds of water on a 5.5 hour flight and after the long dry wait in Honolulu I was definitely dehydrated by the time I got to Vancouver. The plane seemed quite new and was very clean, seats were comfortable. Leg room in the other economy seats looked very tight and I was very glad I had paid $30 for the bulkhead seat. Had a quick look at in-flight entertainment - weird mixture of B-movies and old TV shows so didn't make use of them. It was good to compare Air Canada and Omni Air on the same trip. AC gets a lot of flak but I have had nothing but good to excellent experiences with them over 40+ years. I would say Omni did the job they needed to do. Am glad it was an overnight flight and not a long-haul daytime flight....particularly with the rather cursory service. The rear of the premium cabin had two crew seats and it seemed to be a dumping ground for all the crews' gear - coats, two large Starbucks drink containers, and the crews' luggage was scattered in the floor in front of the seats and behind the last row of premium seats. Not a very professional look and could possibly be a safety hazard in turbulent weather. read more

Zero stars isn't an option. My actual vacation was great but everything to do with the flight part was horrible. First of all the seats are tighter than bus seats, the service was lacking and slow. First part of the trip was 24 hour delayed so we lost a whole day. We didn't actually get water until right before we landed back on Oahu. We were told maybe a few hours for our flight, then 1 am the 430 am. The services completely lacked in personality and human interaction. Not even a fake smile, both directions. When we returned home we ended up being delayed on the run way and told we couldn't Use the bathroom or anything. No announcement for our baggage claim, just a bunch of old annoyed workers herding us towards a claim. You can tell the only thing this company is after is money. I've flown my whole Life and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had. read more

Can't really complain about the value & convenience of booking with Vacations Hawaii. So I was curious to see how the newly touted aircrafts were going to be. If your looking for more legroom your going to be disappointed. It's still the same cramped teeny tiny seats as before. Still felt like a sardine in a can. Everyone gets their own video monitor that's only a small step up from before. I say that because it's really basic no frills stuff. (No USB ports to charge your own devices, for example.) There's like maybe five working channels that works only after your flight takes off & they announce what movies they'll be showing. For $5 earphones that you get to keep it is what it is. (If you bring your own, you'll only get sound on one side.) For $50 more I booked premium class this time. It's basically the same as coach class but you get to check-in in your own dedicated line, board before coach class, get a hot meal (spaghetti or curry chicken to Vegas/Warm roast beef or turkey sandwich to HNL) & free earphones & free cocktails. The only cocktails I saw was champagne or mimosas. Again, no frills here. They also serve mixed nuts & beverage before lunch & ice cream sandwiches after lunch (coming back it was Diamond Bakery cookies...was disappointed cuz I was looking forward to ice cream). I would say it's worth the $50 if you want to be one of the first to get off the plane AND if you choose to stay at ANYPLACE BUT the Cal. (Because the majority of folks stays at the CAL you all get herded to and fro at the same time so it kind of cancels the purpose of deplaning first......going home time is good though.) At HNL airport if you arrive more than 3 hours before flight time there's no one around to check you in so you just gotta wait. Also I don't understand why the AG inspectors from the neighboring gates (on either sides) won't screen your bags. The OMNI AG station was closed so we had to inspect thru neighboring Allegiant's. On top of that I arrived early & the inspector said she don't take OMNI's till 11(which was in 10 minutes) OMG??! SERIOUSLY?! So lame. There wasn't anyone else around that needed to have their bags inspected. Lame I tell you. Note: You can pay cash for your $20 bag fee. OMNI has also moved to another terminal in Vegas where the walk to your bus felt like it was four times the distance than before. I think we must have gone down three escalators before exiting the terminal. (Not sure, I lost count after the second escalator.) Tip: just wear comfortable shoes & you'll be ok. But I did't let all the little hiccups bother me (well , maybe just a little as you can see) & had a great trip overall. read more

I have a complaint regarding the seating on the Omni Air. I have purchased Charter Flight to Las Vegas First Class on August 11 and return flight back to HNL on August 16. I paid over $1000 for first class seat 2D and the Monitor for movies/radio & lights were not working. Also the seat were intermittent working. I had a miserable flight that all I can do is sleep, I could've done that on Coach Seat. The Flight Attendant knew about it and told me the seat 2D were not working order for several weeks until parts arrive. If that the case, you shouldn't have sell that seat to anybody. I'm very upset that I have not been told this before the flight. read more

OAI has an interesting mix of pros and cons. Let's begin with do not be surprise list. Late boarding usually results in delayed departure and arrival time. Allow yourself extra travel time. Pay $5 for a head set should you desire auditory and sound effects and forget to pack a pair. Bring your own food should you crave healthier selections. Snacks - sweet roasted peanuts. Not cool for those with a peanut allergy. Thank goodness I'm not a statistic. Dinner - one and a half scoops of rice, a slice of spam and half a slice of Redondo hot dog split into two slices. Dessert - generous slice of Sara Lee pound cake. Lunch - turkey slices in a partially soggy and sweet bun, Ruffles potato chips and Kit Kat wafers. No veggies and fruits in either meal. Chow down everything with water because it's free. On a positive note, pilot and co-pilot provided a smooth takeoff and landing despite turbulence. Airlines staff provides superb customer service. There's a complimentary pillow and red blanket to nap or snooze on the plane. Complimentary beverages, snacks, meals for your tummy. Bring your own pair of earphones or head set and enjoy watching great quality movies and/or TV shows, listening to music, and playing games for free. Great way to practice playing card games and exercising left brain for numbers prior to hitting the casinos. You could be like me, forget to pack earphones, read lips, rely on visual, and no auditory. OAI works together with Vacations Hawaii for airfare. Alright to have your carry on under your seat. Airline staff are cool with it. Best memory is flight attendants serve hot, moist towelettes to passengers after every snack and meal. Great sanitation practice when lavatories are in use. read more

This airline is the saddest excuse for the US Government to contract to fly its US Service members. Both my flights were absolutely horrid, the first the pilot called in sick so we got stuck in Seattle and got to Korea on a holiday weekend and couldn't leave. On the way back the plane broke down and I have to eat the connecting flights because that's not their fault. You get what you pay for and if they are paid at all it is too much. No travel emergency plans, they will give you a "meal voucher" on a piece of notebook paper in English in Korea and then pay for a lodge off post. My family of four and our 10 bags and no car moving across the world should be no problem. Some people are just not good at what they do, Omni Air International is among those people. read more

Went through omni airlines through vacations Hawaii. I travelled with vacations Hawaii long time ago and thought they flew with Hawaiian. Boy was I wrong about that on the day we're flying to Vegas we just found out that it was through omni. I never heard about this airline recently... Why the five star rating? BC I'm terrified of plane rides and I gotta say it was the best ride I've been in beside my ear hurting when we're heading back to Hawaii. My parents were scheduled to leave Honolulu on 12/29 at 3:30pm, they were told the flight had been delayed and it was now leaving 12/30 at 5:30am! We all stayed up late and arrived at the airport at 3am only to be told (not called ahead of time) that the flight was now leaving at 4pm. Latest word is it will leave 12/31 at 1am. NO explanation, and now their 4 night Las Vegas New Years Eve trip has turned into a 2 night stay... if it even leaves at this THIRD delayed time! What gives, Omni??!! read more

That Omni charter flight to Las Vegas is just OK. The movie selections in first class should be to be updated more often. They only have about 20 movies(most airlines have 2 or three times more) and it's the same old same old movies. My husband and I were looking for reasonable priced flights from Honolulu to Las Vegas and decided to book package deals through a local travel agency using Omni Air International. Yes, we were aware of the lack of space and accommodations this carrier provided but opted for the overall price of the travel package. My reason for writing this review is to warn you about the food service on OMNI. On our return flight, I ate the "hot turkey sandwich" served on the plane and came home with a bad case of FOOD POISONING!!!!!!!! The stewardess was rude. My husband was trying to pass a stewardess whole we boarded. He said excuse me three times and she ignored him. He then tried to go around her ( she was halfway in the path and half way in the sears.) he ACCIDENTALLY bumped her with his pack back and she turned around looked at him with a dirty look and said " why don't you watch where you're going." Wow what a bitch. So rude . I looked for her when we were leaving the plane to give her a piece of my mind but didn't see her. As we took off from vegas when the plane started a strong smell of fumes wafted through the rear area of the plane. Some people looked around holding their hand over their nose and coughing looking around. I then started asking people around me if they could smell that. Some said yes and looked scared but didn't say anything. REALLY. Your going to be meek and not ask what that is when your life might be on the line. So me and another flagged down the stewardess who ignored us at first . After we started waving our hands rapidly they came over . When we said we smell fumes the blond older stewardess said oh that's normal waved her hand , turned her back all irritated then stopped away. They made me sick! Horrible service horrible people. Rather I am a recently retired senior citizen female, accompanying my recently widowed mother for the last 3 years who is 83 years old, walking with a cane, with severe back pains. This trip was in honor of my Dad who loved going to Vegas and would've been 103 years on May the 7th. We left on Omni on Tues. 5/3/16 Flight 105 and returned on Sun, 5/8/16 on Flight 104 My mother purposely wanted to fly First Class because she likes being able to embark and disembark early. She liked being seated in the front of the plane. That additional comfort was an additional $500 per person. Needless to say however, we were unaware that even with the proper arrangements for wheel chair service, First class service was only, as a Vacations Hawaii rep stated, "was only for the flight...". Being a First class wheel chair flyer did not equate to being preboarded or disembarking first. Vacations Hawaii process was based on a first come, first serve basis or knowing one of the Vacations Hawaii rep. There were 40 wheel chair users on this particular flight and each one was mustered together and regardless if you were first class or not you waited your turn to be boarded and disembarked. THIS PROCESS DOES NOT EQUATE TO FIRST CLASS SERVICE AT ALL...FOR FUTURE FIRST CLASS PATRONS....BE AWARE..... This whole process was quite disappointing and disheartening. VACATIONS HAWAII NEEDS TO CLEARLY ADVERTISE AND BE A LITTLE MORE TRANSPARENT ABOUT WHAT FIRST CLASS SERVICE ENTAILS AND ABOUT THEIR CURRENT WHEEL CHAIR POLICY, PRACTICE AND PROCESS. It appears that their current practice, nuances changes from time to time leaving their customers confused, families in disarray and disillusioned about Vacations Hawaii. It would've been nice if the VP of Vacations Hawaii was up on these disparities, after all, he was on the same flight with us and seating in the same row as us. The service from the flight attendants assigned to First Class was impeccable. They were courteous, nice and professional. They clearly emulated the Aloha Spirit and Hawaiian hospitality. The lunches especially the entrees, in my opinion, were not First Class caliber. I was not expecting Filet Mignon or Prime Rib but Pork Tofu or some-kind-of chopped beef with over sauteed chinese cabbage. We were also told that should they run out of our first choice then we would be receiving our second choice. When you have only two options, I do not believe it is a choice. With 8 - 10 first class flyers you would assume that they would have enough entrees of each kind but I guess not. I am all for cost effectiveness but whatever happened to TQM. The porter service was top notch both here and in Las Vegas. The porters we had were hard working, jovial and just plain nice individuals. They earned and were worth every tip they were given. PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR WORK ETHIC AND ATTITUDE. IN CONCLUSION WE NEED TO REMEMBER THAT A MAJORITY OF THESE VACATIONERS ON VACATIONS HAWAII ARE SENIOR CITIZENS, ON A FIXED INCOME TRYING TO ENJOY THEIR GOLDEN YEARS. MANY OF THEM SCRIMP AND SAVE JUST SO THEY CAN ENJOY GOING TO LAS VEGAS, ONE MORE TIME. IT IS INCUMBENT FOR ALL OF US AS FAMILY, CARE GIVERS AND BUSINESSES IN THE TRAVEL INDUSTRY TO BE SENSITIVE TO THEIR NEEDS. AFTER ALL WE ARE WHO THEY ARE NOW. read more

NEVER FLY WITH THEM. THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT ON THE FLIGHT TO LAS VEGAS SPIKED MY DRINK, AND NO ONE DID ANYTHING ABOUT IT. My story sounds like a joke, and I wish it was, but... I bought a last minute ticket on their flight from Honolulu to Vegas, due to my flight on Allegiant being delayed, and thought everyone was very helpful and nice, until one of the flight attendants thought it would be funny to make me his version of "sparkling lemonade." I had told the crew that I wouldn't be drinking, but one of the attendants decided I was joking, I guess?? After giving me the "lemonade," he also gave me a bottle of "lemonade for later" (in a plastic bag), and when I opened the bag after arriving home...I found a bottle of champagne. Not only was it disrespectful to my choice to not drink, it is dangerous...what if I were pregnant or allergic? I brought it to the company's attention, and they blew me off, telling me (multiple times) that my drink was not spiked....haha...and they know that because? They were there? They tasted it? I get that it is my word against the flight attendants, but any reputable company would at least discuss the situation, rather than try to strong-arm me in to silence. Good news? We had a lot of turbulence- I've never experienced that much on any flight I've been on- The flight attendants did a fantastic job, they served everyone with Aloha as the plane shook and dipped! The pilots also did their best but it just couldn't be helped......Mother Nature was doing her thing! Four of us had gone to Las Vegas on November 15th, and returned to Honolulu on Sunday, November 20th. It was on a packaged deal. The Flight Attendants were very unfriendly going, and returning as well. We thought that they were supposed to be friendly. The movies were great, and the flight was just o.k. because of the turbulence. Going over wasn't too bad, but coming back was awful. We hope that when we go next year that the Flight Attendants will be friendlier. read more

Recently, my father & I took a trip to Vegas. Although I'm not a gambler and didn't care much for all the lights, smoke and loud noises. the flight to and fro with Omni Airlines was very enjoyable and pleasant. I especially appreciated the airline flight attendant Tammy K. She really made my father and myself feel comfortable and was a source of delight and joy. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK....Tammy.
