The worst of it all, the guy taking your information is slow as molasses. So the entire process takes about 30+ minutes of time while your truck rental sits and waits. They won't give you the key until they're done so your friends can't even be helping while you're inside. And after I wait for the slowest typer on the island to finish he says oops it didn't save. I hope I can find my next place quickly so I can cut my time with them incredibly short.

But after several attempts to notify them that we hadn't received the claim forms. This started in June of 2025 and to date 2/2026 we still haven't Received claim forms. The missing items were 2 living room chairs, which cannot be missed, among broken items that have been photographed. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU USE A LOCAL MOVER. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!…read more In 2024, Public Storage purchased the storage space in Island Park, NY where I had leased two units for several years. Immediately, in January 2025 the cost was increased by $202 per month for my units. Then again, July 1, 2025 - six months later - the price was increased another $300 per month. That's a total of $502 more per month, or 34 percent increase! Outrageous! That is obscene, obviously - but it's still not the worst part. When I called the local property manager to leave several messages, no one returned my call. I tried the 1-800 number listed on the website, but that sends me to an advertisement for medical alert. There is literally no way to speak to a human being. I called and entered the prompt to rent more storage space, thinking I could speak to someone. The man who answered said he could only transfer me and would not share the actual number. After being transferred and waiting for 20 minutes, a woman answered and offered to have a district rep call me back within 24 hours. That has not happened either. AVOID AVOID AVOID PUBLIC STORAGE. If you already have a Public Storage leased unit, check your account online. They do not notify you. Rather, they just keep adding increases to your credit card on the autopay. Thieves.

I called national archives and spoke to Brad who gave me an estimate over the phone. I was shocked at how reasonable their prices were. I scheduled a pick up a few days later and they came and took our 14 boxes from the basement without a problem and were so kind and courteous. 3 days later I got the certificate that all our documents had been shredded. Cons: As soon as this became a Storage Post, my rate began rising, eventually doubling over the course of three years until I cleared out and left. Every six months, I got a letter in the mail saying that they were raising rates that they promised they'd lock in for six months, with no indication of a ceiling. Looking at the most recent copy from this past March, I notice that they've left out the "six months" part. To me, that kind of practice is worth a two-star deduction. Here's most of the letter: "Thank you so much for being a customer at our Storage Post - Rockville Centre Storage Post storage facility. It's great customers like you that have allowed us to be one of the most popular storage facilities in the area! As you have seen, we've upgraded the property to make it even cleaner, safer, and more convenient for our customers! This was my first time hiring movers and J & G Moving exceeded my expectations! The move went so…read moresmoothly that I highly recommend them. I price-compared a ton of NYC moving companies and J & G gave me a competitive moving quote. Additionally, the building I was moving into required a certificate of insurance (COI) and J & G was able to offer it for me for free. A lot of other companies charge for this. Before moving, I communicated with them via email and they always responded promptly and were very clear about what their moving package included. The day of the move, they called and asked if it was okay if they came an hour early. They were very communicative with me during the whole move. The lead guy (forgot his name!) assessed how many things I had and then discussed with the other 2 men on how to efficiently approach the move. The 3 men were over 6' tall and strong, and they were able to finish my whole move in a little more than 1 hr! I did not have anything that was easily breakable but the men treated my things with care. They provided blanket and shrink wrapping for all of my furniture. Everything was loaded up into their truck very quickly. These guys wasted no time. When I arrived at my new apartment building, they had already started unloading my things. I had my boxes labeled with what was inside (i.e., kitchen supplies, shoes, jackets) and they actually placed each box in the corresponding room. Best of all, there were no hidden fees. They ended up not charging me a processing fee that was included in the quote and gave me $40 off my quoted price. The movers were so friendly, communicative and professional, I will definitely be using J & G Moving again! I also wanted to note that on the day of my move, the street I was moving from was blocked due to construction. J & G movers did not complain or make any mention of that until I had stepped outside of my apartment building and noticed it.
