This place is full of hidden fees. I booked a storage unit online at $155 a month, when I got there…read moreI paid almost that much before I even got a unit assigned. They charge $10 for storage insurance , $20 for a lock, $25 for administrative fees and a bunch of other tag ons that I don't even remember like keys and key fobs. The worst of it all, the guy taking your information is slow as molasses. So the entire process takes about 30+ minutes of time while your truck rental sits and waits. They won't give you the key until they're done so your friends can't even be helping while you're inside. And after I wait for the slowest typer on the island to finish he says oops it didn't save. I hope I can find my next place quickly so I can cut my time with them incredibly short.

They were super respectful, friendly, kind, and very considerate! My husband has health issues and I had thrown out my back the day the furniture was being picked up and they just handled everything with kindness and without adding more stress. In addition, Randy went above and beyond as he took down our large TV that was literally stuck to the wall which took a very long time and even more patience. We had a lot of furniture, a huge painting and lots of glass that were handed with great care packing and unpacking and placing everything in the new house. The crew even moved some very heavy items we had driven to the house ourselves that would have been very, very difficult for us to unload! We can not thank Randy, Arnold, Derwin and Bulmario enough for making a stressful time much easier!

The loading bay itself has a truck-height dock (no ramp/plate) as well as parking for 3-4 cars. WiFi - for those days you're stuck reorganizing your storage unit. Helpful staff - the few times I needed to interact with someone, they were helpful, even when it came time to move out. Cons: As soon as this became a Storage Post, my rate began rising, eventually doubling over the course of three years until I cleared out and left. Every six months, I got a letter in the mail saying that they were raising rates that they promised they'd lock in for six months, with no indication of a ceiling. Looking at the most recent copy from this past March, I notice that they've left out the "six months" part. To me, that kind of practice is worth a two-star deduction. Here's most of the letter: "Thank you so much for being a customer at our Storage Post - Rockville Centre Storage Post storage facility. It's great customers like you that have allowed us to be one of the most popular storage facilities in the area! As you have seen, we've upgraded the property to make it even cleaner, safer, and more convenient for our customers! Features like Wi-Fi Internet access and free package pick-up are just a couple of the ways that we believe we provide the best service in the industry. In order to provide this best-in-class quality while facing rising operating costs, we must periodically readjust rental rates. Your adjusted rate is detailed below. Our updated rates are still among the most competitive available in the area for safe, secure, quality storage. Please note that, even if your account is prepaid, the rent increase will still go into effect as of the date below and a credit for any prepayment will be applied to your account."
