I left this facility because of pests. After 2 months of being here, i personally had to do the work to keep roaches out of my unit & this past week MICE chewed up my items. Theres no urgency from the company to speak or get rid of pests. The way the walls and units are set up anything can get into your space. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. read more

Rented a U-Haul cargo van for a move & was not disappointed. The van was clean, had connection for my USB phone charger. The pick-up & drop off was easy & only required a cellphone to take pictures & do everything online. I rented it for 24hrs but only used it for a few & was pleasantly surprised of how easy the return was even after hours. I will definitely rent again! read more

We stopped by this location on Sunday morning. We had some questions above moving trucks and storage and we weren't sure which way to go. Karliil was the person who helped us. He clearly enjoys his job and working with people. He offered us many options and explained them all to us. We finally settled on one of his suggestions. We decided to go with U-Haul for our project. I must say karliil's help was a deciding factor. When the job is complete, I will give an update. I would recommend this U-Haul location to anyone needing this service. read more

Roaches in the rental van everywhere.... If you want a better and cleaner place advoid coming here. Unless u want to bring Roaches home like we did because these nasty people won't clean and disinfect the vehicles properly. Then they will tell u "I am sorry for your troubles we Never had this problem before" when u can clearly see there is a colony of roaches living 24/7 inside the U-Haul van. Very dangerous while driving in the highway doing 70mph and roaches start crawling around everywhere. We got $100 refund from a $400+ bill but i am never coming back to this nasty place. U can take your chances if you want to. read more

Wish I could leave 0 stars. Completely unprofessional establishment that does not answer their phone to schedule delivery of storage U-boxes. Waited on hold for hours, day after day, with promises we would receive a call about confirming delivery time and never heard from anyone at the Hempstead office. Very disappointing and frustrating. It's been awful sleeping on the floor in our empty apartment without any of our belongings. read more

If you're doing business with U-Haul, it can mean only one thing: you're moving. And moving is hell, and you're highly stressed and it seems like whatever can go wrong, will. (Murphy's Moving Law.) So it's nice to catch a break once in a while. We arrived at 5:45 for our 6:00 reservation on a Saturday evening, to pick up our reserved truck. Two people worked the counter. One was dealing with a customer that seemed to be having a lot of difficulty. The other finished up with his customer, and we were able to step up in less than 10 minutes. All went smoothly and kind Pieter, who waited on us, thanked me profusely for having done the express check-in online earlier in the day. Saved him keystrokes, and saved us time. He was quite helpful and pointed out the important things we needed to make note of. He walked us out and pointed out our truck. The truck was supposed to have a utility dolly in it, but we checked and it was not. I went back in and Pieter gave us a larger dolly in its place at no additional cost. We were on our way with the truck within 30 minutes of arrival. Good service. I think with U-Haul it's pretty important that you check for that text/e-mail/phone call to confirm where you are picking your truck up; because sometimes it changes to a location close by, but not the exact one you wanted. We confirmed all with the dispatch in the morning so there were no surprises. I have a feeling the unhappy family I saw probably did not reconfirm but just assumed the exact time/place from the original reservation. And you know what happens when you assume.... This is a BIG location with lots of equipment and storage facility as well. Pretty good sized parking lot, easy in and out. If there are any complaints when we return the truck, I'll update. Otherwise, I will recommend this U-Haul location. read more

I made a reservation for this location and although things changed at the last minute and inconvenienced us, Karliil was a GREAT help! He went above and beyond to ensure that we would get our rental and equipment. The location is very clean and had many truck options to choose from. Had an atrocious experience here this summer while attempting to rent a motorcycle trailer. I made the reservation for the trailer, entered my vehicle information on the website and received confirmation. Upon arrival at the facility, I was waited on by an employee who pointed to a group of trailers behind the building and said "one of those is yours." That's it. No direction, no assistance. When I was unable to identify my trailer by the number on my receipt, I returned to the register and another employee told me it was on front of the building. He came outside and immediately informed me that I could not rent the trailer because I did not have the proper light hookup on my vehicle. Now, I drive a 2009 Honda Pilot - hardly an exotic model - yet they were unable to hookup such a common truck. There was no information on the website referring to a specific light hookup. They had no adapters available, no help whatsoever. When I asked about renting a vehicle capable of handling a motorcycle, all they offered was a 24' box truck at 8x the price of the trailer! Very unhelpful staff. read more

We used Uhaul's Ubox shipping container to move our belongings from California to NY. We packed an important document in there and needed access to the unit. Roberto and Karliil (not sure if I am spelling it correctly) were very nice and helpful. They informed me that they would arrange for a forklift operator to move our container and have it ready for me the next morning. When I came back the next day I spoke with Roberto again. He was super helpful and friendly and the container was ready for me. I would definitely use this place again if I need a truck or other services. read more
