I was working with a gentleman named Chris who coordinated my move from New York to New Jersey . I had originally scheduled for a move with a property that unfortunately was in a "red zone" where the lender could not proceed with the loan . We had to reschedule with a new property which Chris was able to work with me . Thankfully The guys arrived on time and was professional and courteous to me and my wife . I can't believe I have to write this review, but I figured it was fair to warn everyone who's looking to use Movage for a long distance move. (We moved from NJ to CA.) (tldr: lack of communication, damaged boxes and furniture upon arrival, poor quality of service) In the beginning, Jeff was very attentive and made us feel like "Yes! This is the quality of service we're looking for in a company!" and the quoted price was great. He told us everything we needed to know about our move and we were excited to move forward. (Disclaimer: Low price is because they have other moves on the same truck as yours. We figured it wouldn't be a problem... it was.) But once we had our stuff loaded on to the truck, that's when it went all downhill. First things first, the pick-up movers told us how much we should be tipping them (they said they wanted 20%), which was extremely unprofessional. I don't mind if they had just mentioned that tips are appreciated, but to have the balls to flat out tell me you want 20%? Really? I didn't hear from Jeff for about a week after our initial pick-up, and when he did respond, all he could tell me was that our stuff was still waiting to be put onto the truck and our 6 day delivery window remained the same. He told me he would update with information when he had some. I asked him if it was possible to get a tighter delivery window once the truck was in transit and he informed me that once we got closer to the delivery window he'd have a better estimate of when our stuff should be arriving. (At this point, we were 9 days from the first day of our delivery window and 7 days since pick-up.) Another week goes by without any correspondence from Jeff. I'm starting to get a little anxious because it's 2 days from the first day of our delivery window and we have no idea where our stuff is. So I contact him again asking if he had an update. The first day of the delivery window is pushed back a day. Still very vague. I ask again if he could provided a tighter delivery window since we're working people and need to make arrangements to receive this move if it does come on a work day. He said he'll try his best. So now it's the first day of the delivery window! Hurray! But silence on Jeff's end. At this point, we figured he'd have some sort of idea where the truck is and have an idea of when the truck should be arriving to us. I email Jeff and no response. I get that it's a Saturday, but if client is paying thousands of dollars to use your services, just a quick acknowledgement would be appreciated. We get a call later that day from the driver saying he's in the area and will delivery the following day or the next, depending on the other deliveries. Okay, great! But why wasn't Jeff able to provide that information to us? The driver told us that they're not actually a part of Movage and they're hired to do jobs within Movage (which was one of the first questions I asked because I wanted to make sure that the move wasn't being contracted out to third parties), so the drivers themselves weren't even in touch with Movage at all. And then our stuff finally arrives... boxes were damaged, wet, opened, our couch was soaked on one side... I'll let the pictures do the talking. The response we get after we express our extreme disappointment is just a very textbook: "I apologize for any inconvenience. This is not the typical feed back we receive from our customers. I will help you as much as possible as I have tried to do from the first time we spoke. I will attach a claims form to this email. Please fill it out at your earliest convenience so we can start a claim process for you. Thank you." If you're looking to do a long distance move, go with Mayflower. This is my second time using Movage BECAUSE THEY ARE BETTER THAN ANYONE I HAVE USED! Luca helped me organize the move and was incredibly patient and friendly. I had a great experience with Movage from the planning to the actual moving. Luca was prompt with the quote and other logistical needs including COIs. My husband and I were moving out of our 5th floor walk-up and I was really nervous about the process. The building management is really strict and if we get a scratch or worse on the wall, they'd for sure keep our security deposit. Plus, we had some heavy pieces - a huge couch that cannot be taken apart, an antique desk, a piano, and many, many, many boxes with books. But Movage did such an incredible job from start to finish I could cry! Seconds after I sent a message for a quote, I got a reply. Luca (fielding calls) was super friendly and amiable. The three movers were prompt, kind, careful with my stuff, and they worked tirelessly to get all of my stuff down those 5 flights of stairs and into the new apartment. Of many storage companies, this one was the most affordable while still offering private storage, a moving team that would make sure all my things were properly prepared for transport to storage and the space and a truck to do it all. Lavert and James were fantastic! working swiftly while handling my possessions with maximum care! Answered all of our questions and also wore masks to the pick up. Found movage through the better business bureau and feel completely stress free knowing that when I go to retrieve my belongings it will be another quick and easy process! read more

9/30/20 was the 6th time My family has used Movage. As I may have mentioned in an earlier review, we've used them for both big (family-state to state) moves and small intrastate (1-bedroom apartment) moves. This time, it was my turn again for a move in Brooklyn. From the initial estimating process with Luka to the day of the move with Ricky (Crew Leader), Henry, and Andrew, Movage again proved out why I my continue to place my trust and confidence in them. They're fast, friendly, thorough and their pricing is super-competitive. There are never any day-of-move attempts to jack up the cost and their communication and follow through is really without peer. They also showed up wearing their masks and practiced Social Distancing as required. Movage just helped me and my family pull off our 2nd cross country move in little over a year. We got BURNED on the first move by an imposter moving company (Titan Moving and Storage) that is no longer in business or at least not under this name. So to say the least we were very circumspect in choosing a moving company for this 2nd go-around. We moved from NYC to central California and moved from a 2 bedroom apartment. We had over 40 medium boxes in addition to a host of other things (had stuff in storage while living in the apartment). Had snowboards, golf clubs, crib set, beds, multiple bins of children's toys, dressers, and book shelves. Titan the year prior had given us a quote for $2300 for these belongings and had a slew of hidden charges, out-sourced the move when they promised they didn't do that, never answered phone calls, couldn't track our belongings, and didn't cough up the belongings until after a 2 month long wait and litigation was threatened. The $2300 became around $6000... Movage in the other hand was AWESOME! The sales person who did the quote was extremely helpful. When we had more boxes than expected he gave us only a reasonable increase in the move price. There were no hidden charges. If I ever called them to verify pick-up or drop-off times, responses were punctual and polite. No suspiciously massive deposit was required (only $150). We loved that Movage was local to NYC too! The pick-up was seamless. The movers were professional and thorough. For cross-country moves they ask you allow up to 15 business days. We got our belongings after exactly that time frame. When I called for a status update, the office knew exactly where the truck was and able to provide delivery date estimates. All of our belongings arrived intact, nothing was missed. The whole cross-country move was done for about $4000. A whopping $2k less than the previous with 1000x less of a headache! My wife and I HIGHLY recommend Movage. I had called Movage to get a quote for my move. Jeff was very professional and patient with dealing with the back and forth of my forgetting things on my itemized list to move. Luca called to confirm that my date was still scheduled and sent over Sean and his men first thing the next morning. Sean and his men made it look so easy. Unfortunately, we had a problem with my couch but these men tried every which way to work it out. It didn't make it through the door and I was credited the amount for the couch, they also helped getting the half they were able to get thru the door out to the garbage since it wasn't going with the move. The move was pretty quick and smooth in my eyes, start time of 9am and completed my move, (unpacked, set up of furniture) by 2 p.m. I honestly don't look forward to moving anytime soon in the near future, but would definitely recommend them to anyone who is planning to. read more

Movage was excellent! They helped us with our move from NYC to Alexandria, VA. Christian was our coordinator and was fantastic from first contact, getting a quote, and preparing us for what would happen on the day. He answered all my (many) questions. Enrique & the crew were efficient, thoughtful, and detailed oriented. Great communication from start to finish. We had a snag in traffic and arrived about an hour after them. We had someone let them in so they moved all our stuff in with little direction -- we texted them were a few big things went. When we arrived, we found they moved all the boxes exactly to where they should've been. e.g. a box of hangers was in the closet! All of our things were as we had packed them - no damage, or even any noticeable wear & tear from the move. I loved that it was a one-day move. We had other quotes where things would arrive the next day, which seemed extreme for a place that isn't far away. I also loved their binding price - which is for real! - and was very reasonable. We worked with Christian to get the quote and then there were no unexpected surprises. Now here's a moving company that had EXCELLENT communication & professionalism in terms of arranging and coordinating my move . I feel that if you're respectful & on your A-game in terms of communication PRE-MOVE with me, the move itself will be excellent as well. And it was!! I moved from one elevator building to another and the move was seamless. The guys were informative, cordial, and had a great sense of humor. They even give you leeway in terms of your belongings. My contract said I could have an additional 10 medium size boxes included into the count I already gave them and I wouldn't be charged extra. Three guys moved me out of my old apartment in 1 hr and moved me into my new apartment in 1 hr. Transit time between the places took 40 min. This was the smoothest move I've encountered in my life. I reached out to at least 15 maybe 20 movers when I was looking for my NYC--Philly move and the full 5 star places all had super suspiciously similar reviews. My Last move I used piece of cake (Not good) this time I decided to use Movage! They seemed more reliable and real with their ratings and reviews. Theo and his team got there 15 min early and worked SO FAST taking everything down. Nothing was damaged (that was my problem with piece of cake) and they wore their masks and were super kind. From start to finish, these guys NAILED IT. I requested a quote on Yelp and Luca called me in mere minutes. We went through the typical mover survey (they ask you to name all of the items in the apartment and give other pertinent details, like how many flights of stairs and where you're headed). Luca's quote was among the lowest of all those I contacted (as a matter of fact, another firm quoted me double even though I was referred to them by a friend). I had to adjust the move-in date at one point (FYI people, if you are moving to a newer elevator building - especially a condo building - moving on the weekend is typically verboten). This was no problem. I also had a bunch of questions along the way (like COI, whether or not to buy a mattress cover - which they provide) and Luca always responded within a reasonable time frame (even on a Sunday!). I never met Luca in person, but I have to say, I got the best vibes from him (Luca, hi, you rock). Then came moving day. I was a little worried that the movers would secretly hate me for being THAT CHICK with the fifth floor walk-up move, however, Shawn, Angel, and Abraham made me feel no shame. They were absolutely lovely and worked their bums off to get my furniture wrapped meticulously and down the dreaded four flights. They crushed the move out on both timing and care. The move in portion was a little easier on them (moved into an elevator building - yay!) and they did a wonderful job here. Put my bed back together, put all the bins in the correct places, and did it all with a smile. When it was time to tip them, it was no question that I would give more than the typical 20% (actually, it was my Mom who said "don't you dare cheap out on these guys") which I was happy to do. Movage moved me from NYC to Oregon and they were extremely professional, they were very thorough with every one of my items, they were very careful packing up all the electronics that would be under their care. There were no surprises after the estimates were sent over to me. I have heard so many horror stories with other moving companies, Movage was in the upper tier with respect to cost, but in the end I was extremely happy with everything they did - they are worth every penny! The only negative (if I should even call it that) was that my couch came with a limp foot, but they helped glue the foot back with some wood glue, they drilled-in an additional screw so it stayed in place and the couch was fine and like new after that. I dealt directly with one of the owners, Christian Corvino, and he was straight with me, he was friendly, and extremely professional. Anyone looking to move, if you are like me, you might be naturally distrustful of movers and you expect the worse, but I am here to say you should feel at ease if you select Movage as your moving company of choice. I recently moved from New Jersey to Ohio and I hired Movage Inc for our moving. The three guys who came to pick up our furniture and boxes were really efficient and quick. In barely 2 hours they took all our stuff and charged inside their truck. They handled our belongings in a very careful way. We got our furniture in 5 days, just one day after we had moved to our new house. The delivery crew was very careful with our furniture and boxes and everything arrived in excellent condition. These guys did a great job. We got 3 quotes and they were by far the lowest, which did give me a slight concern. One of their competitors who tried to quote almost 3 times as much as Movage, and then proceeded to half their quote when we laughed and said no, tried to tell us Movage would add costs on at the end. Well, they didn't. Everything was pre-quoted and invoiced and it was a great experience. The crew were Ibrahim, Jimmy and Franklyn, and really looked after all our belongs. We've hired Movage 3 times--twice within NYC and once recently across states. The reason we hired them for the long distance move was because they had done a great job of securely moving art and electronics previously. I will say that the people working at Movage are very nice. However, we're extremely disappointed about how our art and electronics were treated this time. Nearly every piece of art has some damage and a record player was broken. They put many paintings in one box so they were smooshed together without padding and most frames have marks/scratches/dents. I really wish they would've taken the time to wrap the art as it's too costly to re-frame. Some furniture was also damaged: office chair broken piece, dining chair scuffed, lamp shade dented and torn, large mirror scratched. read more

They were a pleasure to work with prior to the move. Levert, Rich & Frank (the guys who moved us) were AWESOME! Both times they were perfect--very professional attitude, hard working, on time, and nothing at all broke in either move. Luca helped me coordinate a two part move from my apt in the Bronx into their storage facility then from the storage facility to an apt in Long Island. He was very professional and responsive during the process. I was given a flat rate for both moves, and a discounted rate for my one month of storage. The movers came a half hour early for the first move and wrapped/taped my furniture nicely. The company did not charge me extra for some extra boxes, which is a plus. The movers were all courteous and worked efficiently, getting everything done in about 3 hours. For the second move, the came over an hour late due to traffic getting from the Bronx to Long Island, but they called me and notified me of this which I appreciated. They were again quite professional and worked hard lugging all my stuff. Two items were damaged at some point ( a compressed wood TV stand and a floor length mirror). The foreman filled out a report and notified the company and advised me to contact the company as well. The company does have very basic insurance so do read the fine print. I am currnently working with the company to get some reimbursement for damaged items. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experience with Movage. Would recommend! read more

We were extremely pleased with this company. We had a complicated downsizing move involving storage, a fussy coop management company, and a need to postpone the moving out and moving in days several times. Luca was so understanding and flexible about all of that. There was a minimal amount of damage, mostly to laminate vs wooden furniture. When there was damage to our very old food processor, Luca was agreeable to reimbursing us for half of it, on my suggestion. When our long lofabed fit into the service elevator but not into the room we needed it in, and i started to cry, Sean, the foreman, recommended a service that disassembles furniture and reassembles it after transferring rooms. Today I had the pleasure of having Shawn and his 2 man crew move my items from NYC to LA. Long distance moves can be stressful but this morning went beyond smooth and reduced my anxiety! First they were on time! Introduced themselves and walked me through their process and everything went exactly how they stated. Second; they moved my studio apartment under an hour!! They worked as a team and systematically!! They were friendly and I felt comfortable and at ease with them. I used Movage for a cross-country move last year. I strongly considered Flat Rate and Atlas but went with Movage largely due to their price quote (competitive with Flat Rate and WAY less than Atlas), positive reviews, and good upfront conversations. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with a different mover. I used their packing service and assumed that would be the best way to protect my stuff, but when they arrived in my new location it was clear that they just did a careless packing job. Many things arrived messed up or destroyed (i.e. bent bicycle fork, sofa had no wrapping on the corners and the fabric was shredded off, etc.). It wasn't just one or two things but a dozen or so examples of truly poor wrapping/packing. The movers who unloaded the truck were apologetic but when I followed-up with the main office they weren't interested in addressing the damage. I had even paid extra for the expensive insurance and had my claim denied. So if you're considering them, good luck, but I'd look elsewhere. read more

This is a hard review to write because the movers themselves were nice and efficient, but the office coordinators and management were terrible to deal with and so much of my furniture was damaged in the moving process. When I was getting quotes for my cross country move (Connecticut to San Francisco) I was initially impressed with Movage because they had such positive reviews on Yelp. Christian was super attentive and answered all my questions throughout the quoting and planning process, and the origin movers were super nice and efficient, but the attentiveness dropped precipitously once Movage had my items in their possession. I was never given a formal ETA - I was repeatedly told "oh, we'll have an ETA for you on Monday..." "we'll have an ETA for you in 72 hours" "we'll have an ETA for you by the end of the week." In the end, I was informed that my stuff was arriving, not by office coordinators, but by the movers themselves when they texted me on Wednesday to say they were arriving the next day. The movers arrived at 7:30pm (I was their fourth delivery that day, so they were exhausted) and SO MUCH of my furniture was damaged. My rowing machine was smashed to the point of uselessness, my trashcan was excessively dented (as if it was literally thrown into a van and then had other additional things thrown on top of it), my mattress cover was torn and my mattress was dirty, and the hardware to my bedframe (which I had watched the origin movers pack into a white, Movage branded parts box) had been lost. Boxes that were very clearly marked "fragile" were placed under boxes of books, and nearly every piece of wooden furniture (which Movage movers packed, not me) has been slightly scuffed or dented. I expected a certain amount of wear and tear from a cross-country move, but I was not expecting to be unable to sleep on my bed. Lastly, one of my boxes had been delivered to one of the other delivery customers they had serviced that day because their stickers were the same color as mine. Luckily the other customer called and the movers were able to get the box back to me, but it was just an additional nuisance. When I expressed my disappointment about all this damage, Luca (the coordinator who handles long-distance moves, whom I was assigned to only after the origin movers had my stuff, even though I have always been a long-distance move) gave a generic apology "sorry for the inconvenience, this isn't typical for us", and sent me a generic claims sheet. After a lot of back and forth about damage and inconvenience, I was sent a release form stating that in order to be compensated for this damage, I wouldn't be able to post about my experience on social media, including Yelp. This is why the reviews are all so positive! Anyone who has a negative experience or has any significant damage isn't allowed to review. tl;dr don't trust all these positive reviews, especially for long distance moves. Movage is not as attentive as they seem and your items have a high probability of getting damaged. read more

We were moving from Manhattan to Pennsylvania also we would be traveling out of the country at the time. We agreed on a reasonable flat rate that included two bedrooms dining room and living room there were no surprises no additional fees. I don't usually write posts but I was so pleased with their service I would definitely recommend them and will hire them in the future. I recently used this company to move me to my new place in the Bronx. They did an excellent job. Christian was my coordinator and his communication and coordination of my whole moving process was impeccable. They were decently priced and provided a flat rate. Christian walked me through the whole thing, I haven't ever had to move with this much furniture before and he made me feel comfortable and confident that the job would get done correctly. On my moving day the foreman came to my door exactly on time, we went over what had to be moved. The foreman and the two other movers, packed up and expertly wrapped all my furniture carefully and skillfully and moved everything out of my apartment in only two hours, including my very complex canopy bed. Needless to say I was impressed. When they arrived at my new apartment the foreman again came up before they brought things in and I went over exactly where I wanted everything. They carefully brought all my furniture up and put everything together. Everything arrived in perfect condition from my canopy bed to my dining room chairs to boxes of dishes and glasses. I will absolutely recommend Movage to anyone that asks for a moving company. If I ever have to move again, I will definitely use them again. We used Movage International to move from New York to London in May. We received our delivery last week. We wanted to finish the last of the unpacking before posting this review. We are happy to report that there were no damaged items in our shipment. We went for the full packing option which was very convenient. The Movage team arrived on time and diligently packed our whole apartment into the container in about 6 hours. They even made some extra room at the very end when my wife remembered the 3 bicycles we had in our building's storage room. The team in London was equally as impressive. They assembled and arranged our furniture and took the time to make sure that each box was delivered to the proper room. They took out most of the garbage and wrapping material and left plenty of room for us to finish the unpacking. All invoices and shipping documents were provided to us very quickly. We were also able to track the container along online, which provided an extra sense of security for us. We will definitely recommend the crew at Movage to our friends and colleagues in the future. I can't believe I haven't wrote these guys a review yet; I write about a $10 dollar hamburger immediately, but not a moving company that's worked magic for me over 2 consecutive moves!? Shame on me! Long story short, these movers are fast, professional, friendly, helpful and any other positive adjective that one could use when describing movers. On top of this, they're dirt cheap. Without going into specific prices, they offered a flat rate that they held themselves to, and did it at about 1/2 the amount of other estimates that I received.
