My husband and I hired Lorenzo to move us from our 1-bedroom apartment into a storage unit. We found Lorenzo here on Yelp based on the good reviews, but our experience was mixed. We'd scheduled 3 movers for $165/hr, but only two showed. (Lorenzo and his son, Jacob.) Because of this, Lorenzo said he wouldn't charge us for the full time -- only the amount of time we were quoted for 3 movers. Instead, when it came time to pay, we were charged a "2-mover rate" of $135/hr for the larger number of hours that it took with fewer people. This was not what we considered a competitive rate, nor what we had agreed to. Furthermore, a piece of furniture scratched the floors when it was pulled away from the wall. It was an accident, but it was handled with resistance and nervousness by Lorenzo, even though it was the responsibility of the movers. We ultimately agreed we'd follow up with him to file a claim and/or receive a credit if there was an issue with our move-out inspection. This meant it was up to my husband and I to attempt to clean and repair the floor -- several hours of our time the following afternoon, for which we received no compensation, discount, or even acknowledgement. All of this being said, Lorenzo and Jacob were polite and hardworking, and had we not had the above two snafus, we'd likely have been quite pleased. (Since our stuff is in storage, we have yet to see if any of our belongings are damaged or broken.) read more

Lorenzo and his amazing 4 movers killed it! We had to get to the closing of our house and only had 5 hours to move close to 100 boxes/bins and some furniture. They got everything in the new house with time to spare, did it without breaking a thing (only one Clorox casualty from a badly packed box), and were able to get everything in it's proper room. I cannot say enough about how amazing and professional they were - and all masked! Super safe, quick, communicative and extremely organized. I would give these guys less than one star if I could. I'm not sure who wrote these 7 good reviews cause it's clear these guys cheat people of their money every chance they get. Not only did these guys arrive a half late, they took their sweet time loading up the truck from the storage room. By sweet time, I mean a full 2. 5 hours when I was on the clock for 3. Knowing that they had 3 hours, they took breaks and slowed down the process as much as possible. When they arrived at my apartment building (which is not even 10 minutes away from the storage space) with a half hour on the clock left, they immediately asked to pay for the unfinished service AND charged me an extra $200 for the possibility of going overtime....Lol how can you ask to get paid before the 3 hours are even over AND ask for an additional 2 hour fee? That means they knew they were going to take their time so they calculate all of this?.....I paid him the money I owed him so that the guys who actually did all the work could at least get paid. Unfortunately,but he ran off without giving me a receipt AND left his guys alone with us which was incredibly unprofessional to say the least. They left all my stuff at the curb of the building. My sisters and I, (3 of us) brought all that furniture up ourselves in an hour and 15 minutes. If we were able to bring that stuff up ourselves in that amount of time, how did it take them 2.5 hours to bring down stuff -which everyone knows is easier than unloading). It's pathetic and sad the way some people run their businesses. I have second hand embarrassment for them and it's safe to say I won't use these guys ever again and will make sure no one I know will use them. Pathetic. read more

To say The ProMovers go above and beyond would be an understatement. With very little lead time, I had to move the contents of my one bedroom Brooklyn apt into a storage unit in East Brunswick, NJ and I'm so glad I went with The ProMovers! My apt was not the ideal move. I could be hot and cramped in part. I have 12 pieces of large furniture, some very delicate and/or heavy, 25 boxes and other various items. Finally, I could only move on a Sunday. I requested estimates from approx. 15 different moving companies and by far the best and most prompt was from The ProMovers. Due to my estimate of time (I booked for 4 hours and through no fault of Lorenzo and his team, the move took 5) the final cost was understandably higher but still beyond reasonable and affordable where movers are concerned. Beyond the financial, we all fear that movers will treat our belongings carelessly however, upon speaking with and observing the work Lorenzo and his team performed, all fears were quickly cast aside!
