I was told to send pictures and an email recapping it and that someone would get back to me. That was months ago and I never heard anything. They added their own lock to my unit and I couldn't get any of my work stuff out. I went to the office and they were on break so I had to wait 45 mins for them to return . They said that I was locked out because I was 17 days late on my payment so I explained that I'm enrolled in auto pay and it must be a mistake so they looked it up and said that my credit card was declined and then they tried charging me 2 late fees to take their lock off but they obviously made a mistake when upgrading my unit so I complained and they ended up not charging me any late fees and removed the lock. My card is fine and I've never been declined before upgrading my unit. Besides that, I never Received a bill, letter, email, phone call, Ect. Letting me know that I owed a payment and I only found out because I was locked out. It was kind of embarrassing and definitely frustrating to show up and just be locked out without warning. I spoke to my In Laws because they have a unit there also and they said that they had the same exact problem after upgrading to a different unit. I understand that mistakes happen and I'm fine with that but I don't think that it was fair that they treated me like it was my fault and just carelessly locked me out of my unit and tried to charge late fees to get the lock off without even attempting to contact me or sending a bill first. How am I supposed to know that the bill wasn't automatically paid like it was supposed to?

It was a long day and they worked nonstop. They were efficient and the nicest guys. The office was really responsive and helped coordinate everything for our move without a problem. The only thing stopping this experience from being five-stars was that we could have used a little more guidance from the office on wrapping our furniture in advance, some things were slightly damaged probably because I misunderstood what was our responsibility and what was the movers in terms of the furniture.

Even though she wanted to discuss it further, I didn't carry on the conversation after the initial sentences because I felt it was not going to improve things. However, I was incorrect. When my wife asked for a smaller unit, we were told that there were none available on the first floor. When my wife asked if I wanted an upstairs unit, I said I didn't. The lady there went in to high gear to make sure we were going to be satisfied and not move to another storage company. She tried hard to find a solution. Even to the point of calling a customer who had reserved a unit on the first floor to see if they would take one on the second floor. It all worked out thanks to her. The other customer said they would take the upstairs unit and I could have the one downstairs. Kudos.
