    Mango shake and wheat shake
    Sussanna G.

So happy my husband brought me here. When I was a kid, my dad would get us coffee, bread, and Batidos de trigo (wheat shakes) for Saturday breakfast. We left my childhood neighborhood and it has been years since I was able to find a similar shake . This hit me right in the nostalgia! Perfectly sweet and very filling! Can't go wrong with their coffee either! This place was very busy during breakfast hours. I suggest you call ahead or give yourself some time when you drop in. It is worth the wait!

Fresh squeezed cane, orange juice with lime

I've been coming here since I was very young for their sandwiches and freshly squeezed juices. Their cafe serves a mix of Cuban and Dominican meals. They have a small buffet where you can order oxtail, mangu, beans and rice, pollo guisado and various other dishes. Their cane, orange juice with lime is my favorite paired with one of those sandwiches. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I highly recommend here if you're in the area.

There was a screw in my sandwich when I opened it!

On Saturday, April 15, 2023, I called Omar's Cafe and ordered a steak sandwich for pick up. I picked up the sandwich, paid for it, and ran home to eat it. As soon as I opened it, there was a SCREW in my sandwich. I was in disbelief and I went to Omar's immediately. They were insensitive and asked if I put that screw there myself. I asked to speak to the owner and they said he wasn't there. I asked for them to call him so I can speak to him but they refused. They told me either they'll give me the $10 back or they'll make me another sandwich. They also said if I choose the sandwich, I need to sit there and stay quiet. This is so unbelievable and my family or friends will never be returning. Omar's Cafe are insensitive, do not care for the health of their customers, and do not handle situations the proper way.

    Pan con bistec

Solid, SOLID cuban sandwiches. Docking one star because toward the end of the day they severely limit their extensive menu. Placed an order around 6:20 on a weekday and they pretty much ran out of everything but sandwiches. I will have to come back to try the ropa vieja and their breakfast, though. Food: Ordered the Pan con bistec and Pan con pollo, with everything. They pack these sandwiches with a ton of meat, lettuce, tomato, and potato sticks (which btw should be in every damn sandwich ever). The meat in both sandwiches were tasty and tender, and the bread is nice, soft, and crisp. The sandwiches are huge and can in some instances be considered two servings full. I thoroughly enjoyed the sandwiches and have nothing to complain about. Also tried the Yucca in garlic sauce. DELICIOUS. Bursting with garlic flavor, some soft onions mixed in as well. They only had ham and cheese empanadas, which were very crunchy and satisfactory, but nothing to write home about. Service is quick and friendly. The decor in the place is super cute! Will definitely come back to try more stuff, but I can attest to the sandwiches being bomb dot com (do people still say that anymore? eh).

Typical Cuban bites. Good for a quick bite or relleno de yuca. Cash only though. They serve big portions.

Long before the likes of Subs Galore (a few blocks away) tried to rock the boat, Stash's was the only game in town (for a whole lotta years). I grew up two blocks away and I'm positive I put the original owner's kids through college with all the money I dropped here. After hearing new owners decided to keep the lights on I had to make an effort to get over here to show my support. Walking into the new Stash's... the place received a 'glow-up' (I'm entirely too old to be trying to use hip slang!) and loved that they decided to keep the framed Scott Baio picture (one of these days I'll share the 'deets' on that!). Surprised to see a few new menu additions (coffee?! Taylor ham?! Manhattan Special Espresso Soda?!) as well as being open more days and longer hours. For the sake of history I had to try their 'Belly Buster' and the kid handed me the sub in a box. ("Huh?! This is a weird gimmick.") But when I got home to open the box I understood 'why' - no wax paper and standard paper bag would've been able to hold this beast together. Just a ridiculous amount of (Thumann's) cold cuts and toppings that the (decent) bread tried in vain to keep together. "Bang for your buck" - you won't find a better deal. But for me it was TOO much and there's definitely an 'art' and a 'balance' to the ratio of meat to toppings to bread and Stash's is a bit TOO generous for my liking. One odd tidbit that brought me back to my youth and the old Stash's... that "stinky sub smell" that you just can't get off of your hands (and body) - no matter how many times you wash your hands, brush your teeth, take a shower, you name it. (Sadly it's Pavlovian for me to want/need a Clinton's iced tea when devouring a Stash's sub but that's no longer an option.) I hope they have another fifty years of prosperity down there in West Hudson!

I immediately stopped on the Vietnamese restaurant with almost a perfect rating at 4.9 stars and 500+ reviews. I'm equally excited, and skeptical. NY/NJ residents aren't the easiest to win over. I walked maybe 6 min to the restaurant. It was a nice sized store front with a well lit dining room, and self and full service kiosk. I was immediately greeted by the staff, I chose to do self serve. Even with that, I still felt very welcomed and engaged once I placed my order. All the items were displayed, and looked fresh. The staff carefully put together a teriyaki salad bowl, and pho for me in about 10 minutes. Once I got the food to my hotel room, I was genuinely impressed. The Pho was so rich in flavor, without being too salty. The noodles were the perfect texture. 10/10. A few hours later after the gym I cracked open the salad bowl. This was referred to me by the staff vs the lemon grass chicken. I am glad I listened, the amount of tender juicy chicken is impressive. The crispy lettuce, and robust tomatoes were a great combination of healthy, and hearty. Bahn & Bo deserves the accolades it's earned, and the one I made up at the beginning. Pro tip: The prices are so good, and so are the portion sizes. If you are looking for fresher, lighter, healthier, skip the Chipotle and Qdobas around the corner, and come here.
