I was walking down the main street in Harrison the other day, hungry and sad that my target restaurant was closed for the day (despite their hours saying they'd be open!) when I walked in here. On their recommendation, I got the bandeja paisa and it was amazing! And huge! It was enough for a relatively large dinner plus lunch the next day. I will be back! read more

My favorite local Colombian restaurant! Came on a Thursday morning and ordered breakfast. I ordered the Calentado con Carne y Arepa con Queso plus 2 fruit milkshakes. The calentado was $14. And each juice was $3.50. I showed my deal discount of one free drink with entree and yet was charged $22. Not sure why I was charged an extra $5 but shame on me for not keeping my receipt and noticing this off of my bank account. The portion of my breakfast entree was so much it was shared among 2 people and even had rice left over for dinner. The fruit drinks are always extra good. You can watch them prepare them. Employees are always friendly and quick with taking orders. The decor is just right. It gives me a feel of being in Colombia. Don't come here expecting to have a dinner party of 15 guests. Yet I recommend coming here if you're a party of 1-5 ppl max. All in all this review is based on their food and service not on my error of checking prices and that is why I still give them 5 stars. read more

Great food, not the best customer service. The staff are also not so friendly I have been going there for over 2 years and they wouldn't care to replace a drink that fell off the counter while I was picking up all the food I ordered. This is not the first time. I once ordered a mango shake and it was obviously expired, they would not replace it, instead they wanted me to buy a new one. Meanwhile, there is a free beverage promotion on Yelp for a free drink with your check in. Talk about false advertising. Overall, the food is good but the staff and customer service really need improvement. I will no longer be coming here. Absolutely no customer appreciation and on top of that I get dirty looks from the lady managing the place every single time. The business would be doing much better if they simply knew how to treat their customers right. read more

I moved to Jersey City recently and was disappointed that there are no Colombian restaurants downtown. I've tried several in North Bergen and Union City, and while some of them are good none of the compare to Antojos. I've been there several times now for both dine-in and take-out and everything has been great. Haven't found a bad item in the menu yet. The bandeja paisa is huge; enough to feed two hungry people. The morcilla and chicharron are amazing. I have no hesitation is recommending this as the best Colombian restaurant in the area. read more

When I came in, I wanted something warm and filling. I always keep hearing that Colombian cooking is pretty amazing. When I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly smile and a warm delicious beef stew. The only thing I wish I could speak better Spanish cause there was a little language barrier. Really like this little restaurant: delicious homemade Colombian foods like grilled pork or grilled steak with rice, beans and plátanos maduros or tostones. Their "choclo con queso" (a typically Colombian sweet corn tortilla with cheese) is the best around! They also have a small bakery with sweet breads and freshly made desserts. You can get a sancocho for $7 as a lunch special and the portions are generous enough for two. I find the wait staff to be friendly and eager to please. While this is a popular place amongst local Latins, it is a yet-to-be discovered gem for the non-Latin folk. Spread the word, Antojos Colombianis deserves an applause! read more

I recently moved to Harrison and was looking for different options to eat. The customer service was not up to par. I was actually excited to try a new Colombian place near walking distance - yet I was so disappointed. First, they claimed the Yelp coupon of a free drink was not from them, though it was clearly their place (now that I look at the reviews, I see they got other people in-the-store with false advertising). Second, the food was not good. I wanted something simple. How can you mess this up.... Tostones & shrimp. Probably the easiest thing in the menu. It came soaked in this weird ketchup/mayo/idk what else sauce. That was not specified in the menu. Ruined... My friend had some sort of steak with rice and beans, and the beans are the only reason why they get a two-star. The beans were tasty. I probably will try to eat again one of this hungry days, maybe they do have better options but for a price of $27 for those two plates it is not a place I will recommend. read more

Beware their unofficial Sucker Pricing policy. Locals who walk in looking like they mow lawns or fix cars for a living get one price. If you walk in looking well dressed, prices jump dramatically. When I moved in I got a nice dinner for with a soup for $9. Went back (cleaned up) a few days later and they handed me a menu, and prices more than doubled. Even Chinatown in Manhattan does not get away with this kind of illegal pricing anymore. Add unfriendly staff with a superior attitude, and I can tell you I will not go back there anymore. read more

Let me begin with what will become obvious, the food was good. You'll have to be tolerant however, because the service is sub-par and they will charge you for everything. If you bite your lip and deal with the service (if you can call it service), you'll enjoy your meal but be prepared to pay as the meals are overpriced. We went there and ordered a mini bandeja paisa $15, a Calentado, comes with huevo, carne asada, arepa y queso. $15. After I left, I realized I never got the huevo! And they will charge you for everything. We couldn't finish our meals so we asked for a container, they charged us .50 (hilarious). Also, PAY ATTENTION to your receipt. On our bill they added .15 here, .10 there...for what I have no idea. We paid it and just left but it was weird. In summary, the food was good but the unease it leaves you with that you somehow got suckered makes it distasteful and not worth going out of your way to go there. read more

This place is really small and the quality of the food doesn't merit their prices. I don't care for a plate full of rice and cheap, tough meat. I'm sorry but the food was very disappointing. I ordered higado encebollado, or liver with sautéed onions. It was overcooked, chewy and had some lining still, which made it rubbery. It was also burnt in some areas. I ordered it with an arepa con queso and they charged $13.50 (it showed as carne asada,). I also ordered the sancocho to go, and it was nothing but a broth with a couple of pieces of yucca and potato, and a chunk of hard, dry meat. I requested a side of avocado, funny thing, they charged $1.50 for half of a Mexican avocado, when the meal cost $9, really? The service was slow, seating very uncomfortable. Didn't care for the waitress wearing flip flops on a 15 degree weather either. Needless to say, I wont go back. I rather drive to Elizabeth and get better food. read more
