I called several companies for a quote. Olympic Moving was the most personal and they gave me the best quote. Just to compare - a different company asked me to email the list of items and gave me a quote based on that. All measurements and weights were off and their quote came almost to a bill that I had to pay for my move across the country. Eileen from Olympic Moving came to our apartment to personally look at our belongings. We got a decent quote and both Eileen and Catrina were very helpful with scheduling the move. At the actual moving day movers arrived 45 mins early. But that was ok, we were ready to be done with it asap. There were 2 guys. They did not waste their time. Disassembling, loading and unloading went pretty fast. I was impressed when Robert lifted heavy wooden table top with his bare hands (no gloves) and carried it to the truck. I also had an electric piano, that I was worried about. I was that annoying customer hovering over their shoulders watching them wrap and move it. If you get Robert as your mover - you are in good hands. The move was smooth and faster than scheduled. The company charges hourly, so we paid based on how many hours the crew worked. Recently moved from Olympia to Minneapolis and did not (and still am not) have a good experience. The day before loading they sent two guys to pack everything. We had already done some packing ourselves and assumed they'd handle the rest. Once 4:30pm rolled around, the packers told us they were done for the day even though there was a sizable amount of stuff not packed. They said the loaders and driver would have to take care of it the following day. The loaders and driver were not happy when they arrived, as it "wasn't their job" to do this. The packers also didn't put together a high-value inventory sheet, so we were left scrambling to open boxes to figure out where those items had been put. The guy in charge of the loaders misrepresented the paperwork and had us sign what turned out to be the final walkthrough papers early, then simply left as soon as that was done. It ended up still taking them another 4+ hours after that. This is my 5th cross-country move in the past 14 years, and this was by far the worst loading job I've ever seen. We got to talking with some of the loaders and they were all just temps who didn't normally do this, so once the supervisor left they were just throwing stuff in boxes without wrapping things properly while we were left scrambling to try and direct things ourselves. As I was worried, stuff got broken and damaged. I submitted my claim the first week of August and still have not had anything come back through. The claims adjuster is never available when I call and has never returned my calls when I leave a request with one of the other adjusters to have her get ahold of me. It's now been a month and a half. The only bright spot was that on the delivery side of things the crew that came out were professional and did a wonderful job. Not a thing was broken by them. They even commented that it was one of the worst load jobs they'd ever encountered and they'd been doing this for years. Our stuff had even been co-mingled with another families goods, and as a result we wound up with a box that wasn't ours and I'm guessing they wound up with a wooden storage bench that wasn't theirs. To start I thought I contracted with Bekins, they clearly contracted with another company, but I was not made aware or somehow missed it. No big deal. 1.) I was told they would be at my house between 9-9:30am. They called me at 9:30am to let me know they would be 30-45 minutes with no recognition that was later than expected. Clock started at 8:30? Why would the clock start if they weren't en route? Caused additional cost 2.) Movers arrive they were very nice. No attempt was made to lay carpet protection at old or new house and no booties worn. 3.) Someone smelled like pot. 4.) Load in took 5+ hours previous year took 3. Purchased some 'packing' saw movers coming out with handfuls of items instead of putting them in a box and making one trip to the truck. 5.) Label 80% of boxes and they still weren't put in the correct place (map of the new home was provided). 6.) Rougher than other movers with items, TV stand broken. Knicks etc. in other furniture. They did go above and beyond to repair a piece of my furniture which was appreciated. However, overall grade was maybe a C. Would not recommend if you have other options. read more

Stay away from these guys!! Why? Omg, where to start?! 1. I had packed up 5 boxes of my clothes and shoes on my own prior to them coming - I needed it organized and sorted a certain way. Unbeknownst to me (until unpacking), they took everything out of my 5 boxes, wrapped them almost individually in paper and spread them between 14 boxes - no joke! I found 1 shoe wrapped by itself and have not found the other side yet. Same thing with a pair of gloves - ONE glove wrapped in ten sheets of paper - no sign of other glove yet. Who does that?!?! It almost seems intentional. 2. Speaker system for tv - spread out in multiple boxes. Speakers and cords packed separately. Hardware for wall mount is missing. 3. TV stand for LG OLED missing all the screws - had to call manufacturer to replace. Honestly, I could go on - there's more. We are military and move all the time - this is the WORST experience we've ever had. No one deserves this kind of crap! read more

I guess it is my fault for not fully understanding the contract but movers from Bekins Northwest dropped our expensive marble dining table and claims are only paying me $48 dollars back for $3500 marble table because they tricked me into explaining basic protection plan. Dispatchers also lied to me that his boss owns Marble place and will replace it at no cost. They also lied that it got broken while transporting in the truck. Yeah right...yall dropped it on the ground and cracked it in half. I also tipped them 200 dollars I wish I never did because every single one of them are liars. Please do yourself a favor and do not use this company for your local or PCS ETS move if you are military. Worst moving company ever I encountered from my past 16 years of military service. I am sure I put my 5-star review on Yelp in June 2019 but it is missing. On July 10, 2019, this company moved my stuff from "Public Storage" in Olympia a couple miles to my new place. They didn't have to do any packing or unpacking. I had NO PROBLEMS with anything. I went in person to their office to "check them out." Everyone I talked to on the phone, including the manager, was competent and friendly. Not only did I not have any problems with their moving & delivery, one of them gave me some good advice regarding the damage caused by my former movers (another company) that put my stuff in storage. I noticed that Olympic has a few bad Yelp reviews by phonies who never used your services and are trying to make you look bad. read more

I called several moving companies within a 100 mile radius of my location. Olympic storage was the only company that actually came out to my house to give me an estimate on my move. Not only was their customer service great, but their costs were far better than any other company that I dealt with. Highly recommend using this company. So we went with this company because of the reviews. However our experience with this company was pretty terrible. Here is a list of things that they messed up because of overbooking/understaffing and poor quality of care. Broken Dishes Broken desk's Hardware taken apart but not kept in central location Lamp shades were destroyed Boxes were not handled with care and movers were seen dropping and plopping "fragile" boxes Mattress were provided with sleeves, but they were not used. Items came in dirty. We had a 2 part move where our things were transferred to a storage unit when we moved and then from there moved into our new home. The day the items were supposed to be delivered from the unit, they didn't have a "large enough truck". They were going to take 2 trucks to deliver our things, but they didn't have enough drivers who knew how to use a stick. So to deliver our things it took them from 11am to 9pm. multiple trips. Even after this, they left a mattress in the storage unit and lied to us about having done so. So after paying approximately 5.5k to have our things delivered we had to go pick up an item randomly left in the warehouse. The driver lied and said he got everything out of the unit when asked. As we discovered we were missing a mattress and asked, he said he thought it might be in the Olympia warehouse that they own. When I contacted the management team to see how they would get the mattress to us, I did not get a response for a week until after we had decided to go get the mattress ourselves. If your are thinking of using this company, look elsewhere. The earlier quality that led to there rating is no longer there. Save yourself a headache and find a company that will value your things and your time. read more

After our initial consultation I was excited to work with Olympic. They seemed very organized and professional. The actual day of moving was very different. The movers took apart every single piece of furniture down to the nuts and bolts. We have moved before and never had the need for this, but I figured it was just the way they did things. It took them over 8 hours just to pack up our house into a moving truck. The next day they met us at our new house. The movers began unpacking boxes and I noticed they were climbing on top of boxes to get things in the truck. They brought boxes in the house labeled as fragile upside down and clearly stepped. The big problems began when pieces of furniture were coming out completely broken. Our set of antique Danish teak dining chairs had a captains chair with the leg completely snapped off. Our outdoor furniture made by a carpenter in Portland also out of Teak had the legs broken as well. Then, when they went to make the bed they realized that they had lost the bolts to reassemble it and sent my husband to 3 different hardware stores looking for replacements. We were not able to find them so they left and our bed was in pieces on the floor. We had to special order the parts and pay someone extra to reassemble. This is the first time I've ever written a review. Olympic Moving is deceptive. In an industry that is known for scams, they are the best. Original quote: $4400, that was about in the middle of the quotes I was getting, so I felt good, Dealt with their customer service rep Chelsea. She was very sweet and trust worthy. We put a clause in the contract that stipulated that the delivery had to be made to my new place within 3 days of my move in date of July 1. Guys come to collect my stuff: Price changes to $6800. "Wey more than was on my list". They did a great job wrapping everything of mine and were very nice and worked hard. Today: Get an email from Chelsea that they will deliver my stuff, end of this week, beginning of next. We discussed the stipulation but she was trying to bargain. Now I rent a hotel for $120 a night with the jeans and three tee shirts I brought. read more

I recently moved from Washington State to New York. The movers who delivered my household in NY were horrendous. Some boxes were delivered upside down, some were split open, and several things were broken. In addition, they did not take the tv out of the box, they left garbage behind and they tried to deliver someone else's dresser (when I told them it was not mine, they asked me if I wanted it!) The main office is just as bad-I left numerous messages with no reply. I would never recommend this company. read more

The people who work in the Olympia office are rude and unprofessional. The movers that were sent to my house lied on the paperwork about the time they appeared. The movers Keith and his partner came to my home at 0915 but stated on the paperwork that they arrived at 0820. They damaged my walls and my furniture. I contacted the office to tell them about my experience and to get a refund for the extra hour I was charged. Steve refused to answer the phone or get back to me. I went to speak with them in person and Steve or anyone else in the office would not listen to anything I had to say. I don't recommend doing business with this company. They are unprofessional and they refuse to take accountability when they're in the wrong. read more

We contracted with Olympic Movers to move our household goods from one house to another in Olympia. During the move, the movers caused significant damage to the wood floor in the house being moved out of. We submitted a damage claim and it was rejected. We then re-submitted the claim with time-stamped photos proving the movers caused the damage on the day of the move, but that claim was also inexplicably denied. We ended up having to pay for the damage to be repaired out of our own pocket (despite having purchased the most encompassing insurance option in the moving contract). We eventually had to sue Olympic Movers to get them cooperate. As a result, we sincerely cannot recommend Olympic Movers to anyone. read more

I was deployed when Olympic helped my gf pack and move our household into storage. Communication was good and follow through happened as well. My gf said they arrived when they were scheduled to and were professional. I'm not giving five stars because there were some things missed that my gf had to go back, pack and move herself. We were also told a 10x20 unit would be big enough for our stuf....until it all of a sudden wasn't. We had to rent two units. I'll just now be pulling things out of storage this weekend (6/10/15). If I could have given ZERO stars I would have! It took them TWO days to finish the move that was supposed to take most of just one day. They blamed me for having to bring in more helpers, although it was the woman from their office who did the walk-through and the estimate. Several things were broken, lost, or totally destroyed and yet every time I tried to put in a claim, all I heard were excuses. They promised to label every single box CLEARLY; at least a third of the boxes didn't get labeled at all. I had rented two small storage areas in addition to my apartment and a friend who was helping me unpack found foodstuffs in the boxes in the two storage units, along with other items that had just been thrown into boxes without proper packing - and of course, not labeled as to what all was in the box. My church paid them close to $5000 to move me across town and I feel they cheated us completely. I would NEVER, EVER recommend them to anyone!!!! read more

Great and helpful group of guys. I have moved 7 times to included 2 cross county moves so I know what a good move is vs. a nightmare move. Moved my 80 yr. old mother from independent to assisted living. Especially patient with her. Took apart a teak cabinet. Attention to detail at delivery too. Reassembled and adjusted the doors so that they were even. We had several large items that needed to be moved to another location and they were the muscle that help load to another truck. In my last military move from Washington State to Florida this company pack my household good.I was happy until the person packing in my kitchen broke a glass,then in my livingroom broke a shot glass. But when I receive my boxes to my surprise they DO NOT write where the boxes belong to for Example kitchen,master,room #1 or #2...So it was a mess.To complete my experience I have so many items missing..yes missing..gone.The one is more painfully is my box with ALL my Christmas ornament..missing.That the one it hurt.I can't replace 20 + years of memories.The lady who pack my room was amaizing and the person in charge too,ne,t day difderent people came by.Because this experience if I have to use them again,I will say no!! read more

The worst move we have experienced this far as a military family. Only two young kids showed up to unload our belongings. They were literally throwing boxes out of the truck. They didn't follow directions when it came time to put boxes into specific rooms and then didn't want to fix their mistake because they "wouldn't get paid to do so". Also, they are suppose to put together furniture that was taken apart. They left before completing the job and they took my husbands hammer with them. Also, my daughters bed was so haphazardly put together that it fell apart when we used it. I also found several screws on the floor that were for my boys bunk bed. read more

These people were really good. The estimator showed up on time, and gave me some hard numbers - no gray areas. The moving guys showed up on time, looked at what had to be moved, and were all like, "Pfft, it won't take us that long!", They were friendly and all business. They got me moved under the estimated time, $50 bucks less than the estimate. Nothing was damaged. If I ever have to move again, I'm calling these people. read more

My husband and I recently moved and I called on Olympic Moving & Storage to help us with all of our furniture and a few boxes. The inventory process was smooth and flexible as we added a few things at the last minute. The movers themselves did a great job, especially with a few glass pieces that needed to be packed up. We had one small glitch (hence the 4 stars) in that when our treadmill was reassembled, it didn't work. Perhaps my husband and I should have been the ones to reassemble, but I know they tried. We just needed help moving our large furniture items across town because it was a weekday and we didn't want to inconvenience our friends. This was the first time we had used movers, and Olympic Moving & Storage made it a positive experience. I really liked that they e-mailed me a picture of the guy who was coming to my house to do the initial quote - I wish they had done the same thing for the movers. Other than one accidental (very small) dent in the wall, all of our furniture was moved undamaged and in quite quickly. I would definitely recommend this company. read more

Wouldn't recommend. I used them for storage & moving over 1.5 year period and had no problems until the last move where they would be moving everything from my storage into my new apartment and new storage unit at the complex. The two movers damaged my couch I bought 6 months before putting it in storage. They took the protective blanket off the couch BEFORE moving it up two flights of stairs leaving gashes and years. They did it right in front of my dad and I and when I said something they ignored me until my dad physically showed them and was told "yeah. It was really hard getting up the stairs". That's it. Then they lost the hardware to my vanity mirror that attaches to my dresser that was also 6 months old so they literally left with my couch in the middle of my living room upside down that my 75 year old dad had to help turn over because the second mover left and never came back. Then they left my mirror and dresser in the middle of my room not even assembled, just laying there and left without coming back. Then I go look into the new storage and i might as well have done it myself. It made no sense. They didn't put anything in the back of the room besides a rolled up rug then all the furniture in the middle of the room and boxes piled in literally an arch bridge from one side of the unit to the other so if I took one back down, EVERYTHING Would fall on my head. The movie crew was efficient, professional, kind, and very hard working. The move was booked for me through the military so I didn't do much coordination, but when I did, the company was prompt, clear, and competent when I spoke with them. I have used Olympic Moving and Storage about 5 times over the years. Every time the experience was better than expected. Recently I used a UHaul and hired a couple of guys, the stress was higher and the cost was as much as if I had hired Olympic. Next time I did. They make everything look easy, including taking King Size foam matteresses down 2 flights of stairs. Recently I hired them for another move (number 5) and had a bad experience. The manager called and talked to me in the middle of the move to see how it was going. The manager was concerned because it was taking longer than it should. So he asked me to let him come over the following day to walk the project and see why. The result was my bill was reduced and he sent two guys over at no cost to me to correct the problems his crew had created. I didn't have to hassle them or ask twice. They were all over it. Any company can make an error or have employees destory a hard earned reputation. but FEW companies will back up the talk or monitor the job. Olympic does both. I have 4 perfect moves with this company and one that ended perfect with a rough start. I will always use them and always recommend them. read more

I was really impressed with the service I received from Olympic Moving & Storage! A friend recommended them to me and I will happily be referring anyone else who needs movers to them. Mel and Brice were easy and quick to work with by phone and email and we got my move scheduled right when I needed it. I had a window of when to expect the movers, but someone kindly called with a 20 minute warning, as I'd requested, so I could run errands while I waited for them. The guys showed up and immediately went to work loading the enormous truck they provided. They were fast, efficient, unloaded everything where I wanted it, and didn't break anything. When all was said and done, the cost was LESS than I'd planned on, even after tipping the movers. We have moved MANY, MANY times over the last several years and will definitely not attempt it again without the help of Olympic Moving & Storage. I would not recommend using this company for a move. We're still dealing with a claim for the damage and missing items as a result of these packers. They packed an open bottle of syrup in a box of pantry food which ruined the entire box. They lost hardware for two TV mounts and our bed. The bed was damaged and is beyond repair. We have had to replace the TV mounts and bed because of their laziness. I had asked that our 27" iMac be packed like a TV and it was shoved in a box with a wicker basket and other random items. Thankfully it wasn't damaged other than cosmetic damage. I'm missing the entire contents of my night stand and some kitchen items as well. Their lack of respect and poor work has cost us hundreds of extra dollars and I would not recommend using them!! read more

Olympic helped us move last weekend, and they were fantastic! The initial estimate meeting was efficient and quick - and I was presented with a printed quote before he even left my house. Very professional. My many questions leading up to the move were answered quickly and thoroughly. On move day, the crew showed up on time and worked tirelessly all day. They took great care in moving our items - not one thing was broken or damaged! They were all very helpful and really went out of their way to make it a smooth process for all of us. The team we had was pretty good. The team lead was very nice and made us feel comfortable and they worked very hard. Once we unpacked our HHG's at destination though we did find several objects that were broken just because they were obviously just thrown into the box and not protected properly. When you are moving an entire house of stuff over three days with two kids it is near impossible to watch everything movers do so you take a lot on faith. We honestly didn't have very many things broken but for several items just dumped into boxes it was a miracle. I have moved a lot at this point and they weren't the best I have had but certainly not the worst. read more
