In 11/25 I rented a storage unit for $117. They took my email address, cell phone number and public mail address. I have had noting but issues first with on line bill pay. Forward to March and logging in to see my receipt for February, I see the rate went from $117 to $150. Trying to contact them vie phone, on line chat is a joke. Although I have been a customer for over 5 years, my rate has jumped up to almost double the amount it would cost for me to rent a new storage unit the same size, as a new customer. It makes me know for sure that Public Storage DOES NOT value you it's existing customers whatsoever. Also, a $75 fee for being late? NOT TO MENTION; your building is infested with RATS. That has been an ongoing issue for the last 4 years or so. You have homeless people living in their units, when I complained to the manager at the time, all she did was confirm that I had nothing to worry about, she was aware of it and gave reasons and excuses to why its ok that they are living there stating; "I had nothing to worry about." Anytime I have ever complained for any reason I was met with fake promises of a rate adjustment, or just plain rudeness. (With the exception of Shelly, who is currently at the Stole rd location in Lacey. She is the only person who has treated me with any compassion.) I will most certainly be taking my business elsewhere and will for sure let everyone that I know, how Public Storage treats their customers and runs their business poorly. read more

Having a storage unit here for 3 years, the rent kept going up. It almost doubled in 3 years, but the new units were renting for less than what I paid 3 years ago!! I was horrified and seriously considering selling all my furniture, which made me so sad. So I went in to the office to see if I had any other options, and the manager Lindsay hooked it up. She got me that same price. Unfortunately, I had to switch units which was silly to swap for an identical one, but I know that comes from corporate and is out of her control. But it was only 3 units down so I just had to move my stuff down the hall! We made it work, and I was SO relieved to be saving money and not have to sell anything!! Super grateful. read more

Bring your own cart or lots of help. Also memorize the gate code... the app is worthless and NEVER works. Service runs hot and cold... it depends on who is helping you. Also DO NOT be even 1 second late payjng their already high fees or you get an extra$50.00 tacked on your bill... quite excessive. Other than that, the place is clean. read more

I still have my earlier concerns about the corporate policy to start with low introductory rates and then increasing them, but I do want to thank the kind and courteous staff for addressing the lighting issue in our hallway. I have rented here twice now the first time was shortly after they opened I got a big second floor storage a 10x10 or 10x15 I dont remember now. I paid $50 this included the mandatory $15 insurance. I loved how secure this place was you needed a code for the gate and the elevator and they had carts you could use to bring loads to your unit or from the unit to the car. Now sometimes you had to search for them go between floors whatever it was still all good. Second time around 2 years later I rented the smallest storage they have a 5x5 I now pay $80 with the insurance. They changed the security so now your code only allows you to go your floor They lock the carts in the office which is always locked because NO ONE IS EVER IN THERE. Today there were carts on the first floor but because of the new security measures if you dont have a storage on the first floor you cant get to those carts. I did get lucky yesterday and grabbed a cart thankfully I had a bunch of heavy stuff to take up so I grab a cart and yold to bring it back ok... it took me all of 10 minutes to drop off my stuff so I go to take the cart back but THE OFFICE IS LOCKED it said they would be back at 4 it was 2 I wasnt waiting around 2 hours guarding a cart so I can take it back to the office so I left it and went on my way. Today I needed to put a few more things in and take something home the something home was heavy so I wanted a cart well GUESS WHAT NO CARTS BECAUSE NO ONE IS IN THE OFFICE. So my maybe another 10 minutes at the storage place took me almost an hour I had to make several trips to get my stuff from the storage and to the storage and now am having trouble finishing the rest of my stuff because now my back hurt some of us has disabilities and issues and need the cart. We pay a ton of money for storage. WHY ARE YOU GAURDING THE CARTS LIKE THEY ARE MADE OF GOLD? If it's because they are getting stolen ( which why would someone steal those?) BUY NEW ONES this storage facility has thousands of units and just the units I see from my car to my storage unit probably pays the Bill's I'm sure one floor pays all that facilities Bill's and employees (who are never working). I will be looking for different storage options this is ridiculous. read more

This review is for the Stoll Rd location in Olympia and the very wonderful ladies who have helped me there. Today I was helped a ton by Kim, who was so patient with me as I did a swap for my too small unit into a bigger one, and then after moving some stuff in and discovering i needed an even bigger one , Kim was able to do all the paperwork with me and swap it again, just like that, in an efficient and orderly fashion. Really, she made it painless, because she knew what she was doing and was able to get it done fast. I am glad I went with Public Storage a couple months ago because the lady who initially moved me in was also very friendly and helpful. Sorry I don't remember her name! As far as the place itself, I knocked off a star because the Stoll Rd location can't seem to keep enough carts on hand. There are only 2 at the moment and I was told there were supposed to be 9, but people keep stealing them . More are supposed to be in order. Carts make a huge difference when you're moving stuff into storage! read more

Not a good experience here at all. I moved my house into two storage areas after selling it. I went back to organize the areas and an employee told me I had to leave after two hours because I was "loitering". I told him what I was doing and he arrogantly told me to go read my contract. I informed him I had and that organizing the storage areas wasn't loitering. He insisted I leave and said I could only be on the property two hours, in a 24 hour period. Nowhere in the contract does it state this so I complained to the manager, who happened to be him. I went over his head to his boss, who tried to redefine loitering as being on the property, period. I had to threaten to go to the Attorney General's Office before he admitted they were wrong. He quickly blamed it on the employee. Nice. They also started keeping the moving carts in the office. If you step out of the storage area you are locked out and you have to re-enter through the car gate, while standing in the rain If it's rainy. When I got to the office, there was a sign on the window that said the employee would be back in another half hour from when I arrived so I sat there until the person returned, late, with a target bag in hand. There also isn't a bathroom that they'll let you use, because someone made a mess in it once. I'm moving out as soon as I can. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. oh, the place is clean, but not worth the bs. read more

Renters beware, I started my rental in 2020 for $38 and in those two years it's gone up $50. In those two years they have over charged me multiple months, they also didn't charge my card a couple months and tried to make me pay for late fee, so auto pay isn't the best solution if you do that keep a close eye on your statement. When you call alI get is a answer machine and they never return your calls and when I finally had to go in to get charges fixed they always say we never got any messages. noticed one unit was being used as a persons apartment, he might not be sleeping there but he had it set up like a personal room and was using the bathroom to wash up. Also heard what I think was someone having sex in a unit that the door was close. Moving my belongings to another company that is cheaper by far, and it's heated. read more
