Olive Young in Old Town Pasadena opened two months ago as its first ever US store. I was here during their opening month and yes the line was wrapped around the corner. The good thing about coming the first month was that they had this promotion where if you bought $100, you get $20 off. The selection is not as huge as the ones in Korea, but still very fun to look around. I returned today just to browse since I was in the area. Even though you can find many of the same items on Amazon for a lower price, I enjoy browsing and sampling all the different skin care and make up products. I make it a point to support the brick and mortar businesses just so I have a place to actually see, touch and feel the products before purchasing. Today, I got a hair oil. It smelled really good (see, I can smell it in person) and I liked the texture. In addition to skin care products, and make up, they also sell tea, snacks, supplements, shopping bags, and colored contact lenses. Pro Tip: If you sign up for membership (it's free), you get a goodie bag that comes with 2 masks!
Trotting to Pasadena to find Olive Young hype hasn't die down yet, there was a long line waiting to get in. We waited approximately 20ish minutes under this humid hot weather. As I stepped in to the store, the cool air of the AC was very comforting. I was overwhelmed by the amount of beauty products they have. I didn't know where to start, but I found my way to compare prices with the same brand that I bought in Korea a few months ago. Holly molly ~~~ I'd rather buy them in Korea lollll Then I approach to a counter where they were giving out free Face Analysis, but the waiting was ridiculous for 1.5 hrs, so I said forget it lollll The store is pretty clean and organized. It has a sink with face wash and beauty wands for your convenience . Most of the products have SAMPLE to try before committing to a product. And of course I tried to spray a few hydrating facial moisturizer for my face. If you need personal assistance, there's always beautician standing by to assist you. After all, since I am a fan of Olive Young it does worth coming in to grab some korean skincare and makeup if you don't mind waiting under the heat ~! There's something that you might like and would not break your wallet when there's a promo going on. Happy Shopping!!
Welcome to the US, Olive Young! We're happy to have you! This flagship store in Pasadena is much bigger than the second location at Century City Mall in LA (Pasadena is 8,647 sq ft vs Century City's 2,694 sq ft). It's still so new that there will sometimes be a line outside to get in. I went on a weekday morning and although it was packed inside, there was no line to get in - so winning! The security guard at the door was super friendly welcoming me in and actually told me about a bunch of sales, too. However the staff inside was very busy and I didn't talk to any of them as they were all busy helping other patrons. It was still early enough though that there wasn't a big line to check out so that was nice. The amount of products they have in the shop is mindblowing! So many options, it's amazing that you can browse them all plus most have samples, as well. Aside from all the skincare and makeup, they do have snacks and drinks, plus some Sanrio items and other cute things. My biggest disappoint is that the formulations, especially of the sunscreen, are actually different than the products sold in Korea. FDA regulations block some of the things that make these products so great so they aren't being sold. And when Olive Young opened in the US, the online purchases direct from Korea stopped and everything must be bought through the US site so there's no way to get the original formulations anymore. That's quite disappointing! And in general, more Western products are in the store I noticed. I do really want to go back for the skin analysis so plan to take my friends when they're in town in a couple months. However the store is just so darn busy, it seems like the waits for that are quite long right now. I'm very happy this store has opened but think they still have some areas for improvement I'm hoping for in the future!
Yay! Because of the World Cup games, I was able to get into the store without a wait! The store is truly overwhelming and filled with thousands, yes thousands of products. They were sold out of the most popular products and colors, yet OY had many other products available to sell. Staff members walk around and every few minutes they give a LOUD CHEER to lift morale. All of the employees were great and able to make good recommendations. Zoey was particularly helpful and was patient with all my questions. They have a facial washing station to try out the skincare lines. Olivia Young will take back items that are brand new or very lightly used within 15 days with the paper receipt. They will refund all items on the receipt, then they recharge you for the items you are keeping. You must have the original receipt and return items to the original store from which you purchased the items. (They just opened Century City too now!) I was in the store for over 2 hours and still did not check everything out. Overall it was a great experience.
My current favorite item from Olive Young is the Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sun Stick. Let's be honest, some mornings it's simply impossible to get ready with your full on makeup routine when you're busy going to work or taking care of your toddler. This stick is the perfect way protect your skin from the sun and also feel good with it moisturizing your skin. I sometimes take it with me to apply it as I'm on the road (when I'm stopped at a red light!).
My wife and I have been wanting to check out Olive Young ever since they announced they were opening a U.S. location. If you've ever been to Korea, you know it's basically the Korean version of Sephora--packed with skincare, beauty products, and all the trendy items people rave about. My Mexican wife is obsessed with Korean skincare, so this place has been on her must-visit list since day one. We held off because in social media, people were saying they waited up to two hours just to get in. We finally went a few weeks later, and the wait was only about 40 minutes, which wasn't bad at all. Once we got inside... it was game over. My wife went into full shopping mode. I had to set a $150 spending limit because I honestly think she would've easily doubled that if I hadn't. There are so many products to browse, and it's easy to lose track of time. The biggest surprise was the pricing. I expected everything to be marked up since it's the first U.S. location, but the prices were actually very reasonable--comparable to Sephora or Ulta. It didn't feel overpriced, which made the experience even better. If you're into K-beauty or just curious about the hype, Olive Young is definitely worth checking out.

I came here mostly for skin care, but it was nice to see that they had makeup selections as well. They also have a great selection of colored contact lenses. They even have snacks and other things. My favorite part was the free skin analysis that I received. I had the one that's more thorough, which took about 20 minutes or so. I was so impressed by their customer service that I'm looking forward to go back!
Wow! What an explosive opening! i'm glad that we now have a Korean staple in America now. This is the first location to ever open in the US and I think they picked a great location in Old Town Pasadena right next to the Apple store. The staff are really helpful if you're trying to look for something to help you with in regards to your skin for makeup or your skin health. I'm even surprised that they have snacks and K-pop albums for sale here. But now I don't have to travel all the way to West Hollywood for Hapa Kristin contacts! I know a lot of people have mentioned the pricing, but to have a brick and mortar store these days is expensive. Not to mention that this is right across from a Sephora, and there are a noticeable amount of American brands adjacent to Korean brands in the store. But my review is based off of my experience during opening week and after. Based on the helpfulness I've received from staff as well as the selection, I found exactly what I needed. Also getting a free skin consultation made it a lot easier to address problems I didn't know I was having like patches of dry skin and areas of oily skin.
I am super impressed with the Olive and Young its so organized and the prices are very reasonable for quality products. There are many employees to help you when needed and it compares pretty well to the ones I have visited in Korea. The products are the same maybe not all of the brands but definitely a large variety. I would be coming here for all my products. I got face wash, lotions, lip gloss and face masks packs for close to $100 but I got $20 off there are deals when you spend certain amounts and when you sign up. Recommend: have fun looking around, ask questions, and try new products. I feel like the brands all help your skin stay healthy and clear versus covering up.
I LIKE OLIVE YOUNG SO FAR ======================= I have been using lots of Korean skincare products for a few years and I'm glad there's a place I can shop close to home. They carry the ANUA line which I really like. I started using the Anua 10+ Niacinamide that I previously purchased at Ulta, but I'm glad they sell it at Olive Young. I got a $5 reward today for signing up online, so I'll use it for my refill for this item. They also carry Medicube products which I like. My sister in Hawaii just sent me at least three of that line's collagen products and I'm looking forward to trying a few more. They carry Torriden products which I love too. When I run out of sheet masks I'll pick some of those up. My neighbor just brought me two boxes last summer after her trip back home to Korea. Olive Young does not carry Beauty of Joseon. I love their eye cream, but I can order that on Amazon. My neighbor uses the eye cream on her face and now I will do that too. It feels so good. My main purpose for my first visit was a lip stain, gloss or balm that was a color I wanted to go along with my mother of the groom dark blue dress. All the staff are helpful and Daphne H. was extra helpful in my search for the right item. I ended up buying the Hera Sensual Nude Balm in Boysenberry 88. I also got $3.00 off for the store's grand opening and a little gift.
Olive Young Grand Opening had good discounts if you spend more than 30, 60, or 100! The best part is the "try me" so you can apply these k-beauty brands directly on your face! The store has over 5000 products and it is impossible to really have the Olive Young Experience in only ONE day! On Friday, I didn't sign up for the intense Skin Analysis so on Sunday I did it at the Beauty Lab! Great product demos and recommendations using the THOME Glow applicator. I finally got educated on how to use it. Make sure to get the Korean Cutting Jelly and the tteokbokki from Bibigo. It was so spicy and tasty :) The sink is large and I enjoyed cleaning my face three times with different products. The lines will settle down eventually or go an hour and a half before closing. In the afternoon it was 150 people continuously waiting in line but the line moved fast. They wanted to ensure everyone had a great shopping experience versus a mob and crowding. I learned something new from Jane, the retail operations manager. Korean Culture they do not want trash so make sure to take your waste with you!
The store itself is pretty nice. Kinda like a korean sephora and 7/11 combined cause they sells snacks. Not sure why they had nonkorean brands in here though like batiste. I like that they have skin and hair analysis to show concerns of your face or scalp. The sales associate also said you could try everything at the store so i was able to try some eye bag things and toner pads. Deals are also a little confusing because i saw buy 3 get 1 free for 1 brand but it didn't say what. It was only for facemasks instead of their toner pads. I didn't like that they forced you to change from global to the US but my friend will be visiting korea so she still be getting items for me.
I went during grand opening weekend but the lines were so long I didn't want to wait in the lines. They extended the grand opening sales through Monday so I decided to go back then. The lines were equally long. It took an hour and 10 minutes from the end of the line to get into the store. By Monday, a lot of the giveaways were gone. I ended up getting a free mask and a bag with purchase. The sales were good but many of the products that were heavily discounted 40-50% off were sold out by Monday. Bummer! The store is really modern and has so much to offer. I didn't get a chance to try The skin analysis that they offer for free but I'll do that next time. The products seem really great from the few testers I trued out and priced reasonably. There were so many options for the same kind of product that I was going through paralysis by analysis. I had to quickly decide what to purchase bc the click was ticking closer to 8 pm. I will definitely be back but perhaps my next olive young visit will be in Korea?
This Olive young is located off Colorado blvd & Mills Pl. in Pasadena, CA Yesterday, I went to Olive Young in Pasadena! When I first entered the store I noticed how super clean, highly organized and attention to details. This store is Huge, it's very well lighted, very warm, friendly chic, elegant, and classy! There is so many beauty products to choose from whether it's Korean,Asian, great American brands here too! They have a very wide band of skincare such as : toners, Retinols, PDRNs and so much more! They also have many different sunscreens, mask, makeup, perfumes, skin care,derma care. They also have a skin analysis that asks you questions about your face you pick which best describes your face/skin. So you have to sign in your name most likely there is a line , so Mia ask me for my name and phone number. When time comes they will text you and you have just tell them you got a text. They assign you with someone to go over the scan. So Crystaly helped me, she was super thorough, very sweet how she made sure I was understand the process. They have this skin scan a small device they can parts of you face after that's done the results are in tell you what most need to take help improve your skin. Then they told me ask any of workers and show them on your phone what you would needs & yes you need your phone in able to show the result also I have a suggestion please don't wear any makeup if you want to do this skin analysis scan. SunScreen is fine to wear too . Or you will have to take it off in order for you take the scan. It also tells you the percentage of your wrinkle, skin barrier index, blemishes, acne, moisture, porphyrin, sebum, dark circle, pore size, pore density, redness, skin temp. I was really impressed! I went to the worker Gabriella M. She took a look of my phone she said that there are 2 options for my blemishes, she told this one was very lighter DR.G R.E.D Blemish so i decided to get 2 , she also mentioned about these pads Mediheal Phyto-Enzyme which I got 2, also she told me about Anua 100+ which is a PDRN + HYALURON ANUA PDRN HYALURONIC, ACID 100 MOISTURIZING CREAM, also go 2 too. They also supplements & snacks and little gifts here to and Olive young bags and small bags so cute! I think I ready to check out. Leslie D. Help me check out it was a breeze . All these beautiful workers made my day yesterday! Shout out to Crystaly , Mia, Gabriella M, & Leslie D and Patty for making my day so wonderful! Today, I went back to Olive Young with my sister law & our dear friend. We didn't have to wait in any line, there wasn't too many people. Our dear friend did do a skin analysis too! I had needed to come in here to ask worker, when I saw Tyler G. I told him I had some questions , I asked him that I have a friend that's going through chemotherapy is there some type of sunscreen, lotion, toner, serum. He said yes the Product is call S NATURE! I was thrilled and the variety too! So I got "S NATURE" Aqua Oasis Toner, Agua Oasis Panthe- Allan Calming pads, Aqua squalane & mist & panthenol eye cream. Not only did Tyler tell me about these products he politely showed me the way! So thoughtful of him . I also had some other questions regarding other serums and he answered them beautifully! He not only helped me, he also helped my sister in law and our dear friend. Tyler really listened to all of our concerns & was showing his suggestion which we all felt we would buy what he suggests! I could Tell right off the bat Tyler is a super people person, super polite, so very down to earth, kind, caring, extremely genuine, very sweet and sincere! Tyler G. Has this positive upbeat energy about himself that's truly radiates! Their price points are spot on! As we were waiting in line to check out , we got Tyler G . We so thrilled! He told us If we signed up via email & phone number to get rewards and if you down the app it helps greatly too , will be earning rewards, Tyler also said if we have card hole punch? So basically if you come in there and spend $35 or more you get a card to be hole punched after 3 whole punches you get a $7 off with your next purchase! The icing on the cake . It was so sweet Tyler G gave us all this information we could really see he really cares about the guest or customers here! Tyler G is your Rarest of all Diamonds!! His Shine will never fade! Please Treasure him Greatly!! I would love to especially Thank Tyler G for a Fabulous & Terrific & Memorable Visit!! I've been wanting to check out Olive Young since they opened in Pasadena, so I finally stopped by. Just a heads up, be prepared to wait. We stood outside for about 30 minutes in the heat before being let in, which definitely wasn't the most enjoyable start. Thankfully, once inside, the air conditioning was a lifesaver. The store itself was organized enough to browse comfortably, with shelves packed full of popular Korean skincare brands. If you're into K-beauty, it's easy to lose track of time looking through everything. They also had a skin diagnosis booth that I was really interested in trying, but the wait was over an hour, so I decided to skip it this time. Hopefully I'll be able to check it out on a future visit. One thing that surprised me was how much more they offered beyond skincare. They had a Sanrio section, plus snacks, wellness products, and supplements, which ended up being one of my favorite parts of the store to browse. Overall, it was a fun visit, but I'd recommend going on a weekday or during off-peak hours if you can. The selection is great, but the long wait to get inside definitely took away from the experience. read more

The lines were equally long. It took an hour and 10 minutes from the end of the line to get into the store. By Monday, a lot of the giveaways were gone. I ended up getting a free mask and a bag with purchase. The sales were good but many of the products that were heavily discounted 40-50% off were sold out by Monday. Bummer! The store is really modern and has so much to offer. I didn't get a chance to try The skin analysis that they offer for free but I'll do that next time. The products seem really great from the few testers I trued out and priced reasonably. There were so many options for the same kind of product that I was going through paralysis by analysis. I had to quickly decide what to purchase bc the click was ticking closer to 8 pm. I will definitely be back but perhaps my next olive young visit will be in Korea? read more

It was my first time visiting Olive Young and overall it was a fun experience! When we arrived, there was thankfully no line, so we were able to walk right in. As we browsed the store, we learned that you could sign up for a complimentary skin scan. We signed up and it was about a 30 minute wait which went by quickly while we explored the store and tried different products at the cleansing bar. The skin scan is quick and they provide you with a personalized report. I am excited to try the products I picked up! read more
OKAYY OLIVE YOUNG I SEE YOUUUU!!!!!! Tbh, I had a beautiful experience. It was lovely inside and the ambiance was super elevated. The workers are also extremely helpful as well! (I kept asking for help because some products I couldn't find). Jenny, Katie, and Eliza were extremely amazing, giving me skin care recommendations, giving me guidance on where to start. Plus, their skin was GLOWING so I trust them. Can we talk about their snack selection too? I'm highkey obsessed. Also, I genuinely love how the diverse the products were -- they have both Korean and American skin care/self care items which really shows their range as well which I admire. I noticed some people on social media were hating, but for me, it's convenient because they basically have everything, so there's no need to go back n forth. read more

Well I stood in line for four hours to get inside and didn't get the gift today, but it was still worth it. I had a great time perusing the selection of products and trying them out. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There's a skincare station where they do a free analysis with recommendations. The sunscreen is the US formulation. The axis-y sunscreen was Korean, but had a bit of a white cast. I would say most of the sunscreen was the FDA approved US version. Other Korean stores do have the Korean formulas, so I was hoping for a better selection with some of those, including numbuzin blurring sunscreen and other products that weren't available prior, but were available on the global storefront. They did have a huge selection of other products though, including the skinfood and green tomato, which I haven't seen much in other stores. I wish they had some more different Anua products. For example, they were sold out of the big hyaluronic mist, and I didn't see the BHA serum. Also, I didn't see any Somebymi, which is weird because it's available online. Not sure why they don't carry Laneige. It wasn't on the global site either. Notable, the d'Alba spray and Purito serum I got are cheaper than at Ulta. If you don't want to stand in line for 4 hours, wait a few days, but definitely check this place out. I would be worried if I was the Sephora across the street. read more

I had high expectations since I have been to several locations in South Korea. After waiting about 5 hours(!!), I finally got to go inside on grand opening day! Was sad that I didn't make the cut for first 200 people to get the gift bag but it's ok. I was excited to explore since it was a pleasant experience back in Seoul. Upon walking in, I noticed A LOT of American products, kind of shocked to see it since it's a k-beauty store and that there is a Sephora diagonally across. I picked up a handful of k-beauty items that were on sale and some that I had been wanting to try. I hope that they can stay true to their identy as a k-beauty brand retailer and continue to showcase k-beauty brands Americans have not heard of or are new to, that they can try in the stores. read more
I had a wonderful experience at Olive Young. On June 29 we went out for ice cream and noticed there was no line and quickly headed over to the store. Every time I've wanted to go that was a long Lionel around the corner and I would not want to stay in that line. Had a wonderful experience girls were all very attentive and the guys very helpful. Very professional not knowledgeable. Kayla helped me at the skin scan. She took me immediately. There was nobody in line which was great and Maritza at the register and Maddie at the skin scan area. Everybody was amazing. I had a great experience. I need to spend more time and understand the products more and need to go back to go over my skin result to buy the correct product products but overall it was a great experience. read more

My son and I found free parking on 4th of July and only waited 15 min. to get in. The bouncer let us scan the QR code coupon to get our $40 discount off of $100. Upon entering, you go and follow two Instagram accounts and you instantly receive a free mask. Then, the fun begins! The first thing we did was go get a free skin analysis. Something of this type in Orange County would cost you upwards of $120. Here, in Pasadena, the analysis was free. After, you can get suggestions from all of the section reps on what the best sellers and award-winning products are. For us, we walked away with all of my son's skin care needs as we want to prepare him for his stage in puberty as acne is a huge problem and so are large pores. However, the sun damage is what I'm most concerned about since he's been exposed to the beach weather a lot lately. So, we got him a 4 item regiment for him to do nightly: Mixsoon cleansing foam, Round Lab Dokdo toner, Mixsoon bean cream, and last interchangeably, the Torriden dive serum. For myself friends I picked up the new lip color by Muzigae Mansion, object liquid in the "003 stranger" for $15 . In Orange County these go for about $22. read more

Loved loved my first trip to Olive Young in the US, this was my 2nd time at the Pasadena location. We tried going on a Saturday afternoon, but the line was around the corner. Unfortunately it was a very hot day so we left. Second time we came right before they opened and was able to get in. They have a skin analysis section, the wait for that is at least 45mins to an hour so if you want to do it put your name in as soon as you go inside. There is also an area they will look at your scalp, wasn't able to do that one but definitely something i will do next time. But there are so many things to look at, make sure you plan to be there at least 2 hours. read more

I love that Olive Young came to the USA . Maybe they should have imported more of their Korean staff from Korea to initial inform their employees here about their products. It was disappointing that I inquired 2 different employees about products and both had very vague responses not being able to tell me or show me products suitable for my skin type. They didn't have any recommendations either, which was disappointing. I might have spent more time and money if they had suggestions. Bring employees who speak English and other languages (Asian) to help your company be successful here in the USA read more
Came a few times to Olive young with my wife. Grand opening weekend and after - 4-7 hr wait a couple free carnations and some water. First 200 recieved a pink bag with some products which was nice. Free slot like push button machine not working until afternoon evening time for free product. 1st bummer especially since it was shown all over social media. 2nd bummer, Pushing to new customers on their website and telling everyone at check out they'll give you a free products seems like a lie, because we've come 3x and each time given the we ran out response, but come by another day and ask for it. 3 visits $$ spent. Hours of waiting. Came today waited about 45 mins at 11ish. Out of a lot of "popular items" you'd think with as much product you push to have a LOT of inventory to support it. 3rd bummer having certain items ingredient changes due to being available for US sales. Not the same product as advertised really. If people are used to a specific version should be able to order online at-least to get it and offer both versions. Staff very friendly. We'll see how well things go in a month or two when things mellow out a bit. read more

I love my haul of OY. I told myself i will only get sunscreens and then I ended up Paying almost $200!! But it's ok, i love it and i did not line up too long as I'm a local and i chose a time where no one is in line. I got my Mediheal, Goodal, and Rejuran stuff plus the K-Collagen masks and ampules!!! Prices are affordable compared to Ulta and Sephora, and their products are really popular in Korea and tested to be good. Would definitely come back as I am a member of their rewards program. read more

Visited the grand opening of Olive Young US. Keep in mind I have never opened an Olive Young Global account so I have no insight on the membership point system and transfer process. The line to wait for the store had plenty of shade so I did not feel overheated while I waited! Staff brought out flowers and water throughout the day though I believe it's only for the grand opening. There were so many brands to choose from. However, the way it's organized is a bit weird. They organize by the type of product (toner pads, sunscreens cleansers) and also by brands . Sometimes if you want a toner pad by a specific brand they will not show up in the toner pad section only in the brand section which makes it a bit confusing where I should look. There were plenty of staff to help me find the products I needed and they were wonderful and gave my recommendations. There are not Dr Groot or Aestura products nor any of the Korean collabs with Pokemon etc. There is a Sephora across the street which carries Aestura and Dr Groot so I'm not sure if that's the reason why. I did order online and they were extremely quick to deliver my products as the warehouse is based in California! Because of this, I would probably just buy online rather than in person because it is quite a long drive from me! read more

Beware before ordering. I already had a valid U.S. contact lens prescription after paying for a comprehensive eye exam, but they refused to accept it and required another test. This policy was never clearly disclosed before purchase. Huge waste of time and money. read more

I'v been seeing all the social buzz about Olive Young's opening everywhere, so I finally stopped by on Day 3! The line looked long, but it moved way faster than I expected (about 40 minutes). They were handing out water and flowers while people waited, which was a really nice touch. The store felt like a total K-beauty playground. I loved that it wasn't just Korean brands, I spotted brands like Touchland and Urban Decay too. The K-food, K-supplements, Sanrio goodies, and cute pouches made it feel like a beauty store and convenience store all in one. Also, one of the best parts of shopping at Korean beauty stores is all the FREEBIES I got gifts for joining the membership and more goodies with my purchase. The samples alone make the trip worth it! Lots of cute finds, lots of snacks, lots of beauty products... definitely a dangerous place for my wallet My daughter already wants to come back, so I have a feeling this is going to become one of our regular playdate spots from now on! read more
