Okay , sooo I am kind of biased on a product selection review , having just returned from Korea with amazing olive young stores every 200 feet , I will definitely say product selection needs to be more diverse . Throw it all In there . I love the selection that olive young's have , it allows me to really try new products , this olive young had many products I can already get at my local Korean shopping center . Nothing too special . Okay so now why I am giving it 1 star rating . Upon entering it was fine , they greeted us , but not 5 minutes in we felt a constant presence , ok fine , but then the security running to what ever isle we were in , was getting a bit much . I wanted so bad to duck and when he came running ,I would jump up and go ,surprise !!!!! lol. The girl worker, maybe a manager took over and she just stared at us where ever we went . Like no one else just us . At one point I walked away from my daughter and she rannnn over to the isle where my daughter was in I guess , thinking she was going to steal . Now , my daughter is one of the kindest soles you will ever meet , she would give you the shirt off her back and if I don't tell you she was also upset when we left the store. I apologized to my daughter for the bad behavior in that store . Also the register girl did tell us to sign up for their program and when I asked her was it The US only ?, the smug look she gave me was penetrating . She had a sour face the entire time . Ohhh and instead of thinking someone ,who never stole in their life ,is going to steal how about CUSTOMER SERVICE . NOT 1 person asked us if we needed help. Just stared and followed us to every isle . If that was the male manager that ran to the door and wished us a fake goodbye I'm begging you please retrain your staff . No customer service , no smiles , really nothing like the olive young in Korea , those employees are ready to help and get you anything you need . In Korea I actually had to buy another suitcase because of how much we brought back .lol . But this olive young location, we will never be back . I beg you to retrain your staff . Let me preface this by saying the OLIVE YOUNG stores in Korea are FANTASTIC. This review is for the Westfield Century City store and its employees. I walked up to this store at 7:40pm to buy 1 item. They refused me entry, even though the store is supposed to be closing at 8pm. That's just laziness on the employees' part.... It wasn't even very busy, by the way. I specifically came from home to go to this store and only this store. And all I needed was one item. Crazy. This store has now lost a customer, one who has spent thousands of dollars at OLIVE YOUNG stores globally. read more

This morning (Saturday, June 20th), I went to the newly opened Olive Young at the Century Shopping Mall to buy some cosmetics. This is their second location, following the first one that opened recently in Pasadena. I had heard that you usually have to wait in a massive line just to get inside, but maybe because we went in the morning, there was no line at all and we walked right in. It was awesome! I was even more eager to visit because I heard that getting a Glow Matcha at Chamberlain Coffee gets you a free lip gloss and sheet mask at Olive Young, and it turned out to be completely true. My mom bought the Mung Bean Cleansing Foam and the Bio Dance sheet masks, and I bought a Medicube serum. I actually have the Bio Dance mask on my face right now, though I guess I won't know the full results until tomorrow! The Olive Young staff were all really friendly and helpful. While we were waiting in the checkout line, one of the employees showed us a scan code to join the US Olive Young website for $5 off, so I quickly scanned it and got the discount. The checkout line itself was pretty long, though. At first, there were only two cashiers, which made it feel like it was taking a while. After a bit, a third cashier hopped on a register, which made things much better. We were so lucky we went in the morning and skipped the entrance line, because when we walked by later in the afternoon, there was a huge line stretching outside. I highly recommend going in the morning if you plan to visit. And as expected, K-Beauty is the best these days! read more

Cute store, a bit smaller than expected. Nice selection of popular products, sorted by brand and main product category like skincare. Some brands were somewhat under represented in terms of total range of products but again maybe due to the size of the store. Pricing was a bit higher than online options but a trade off for being able to try the testers in store. If you are trying products, the cleansers and cotton pads are located near the makeup section. Overall a definite yes in terms of visiting and checking out the viral products before buying. For me, I've been using kbeauty for some time so pricing or promotions are key. Not a lot of promos today but free full size samples when you purchase products. Located on the top level, to the right if you are facing the food court area. Parking at Century City Westfield mall is free for the first hour. read more

this store was a lot larger than I expected. I've never been to an olive young before so was very excited to check it out! when I went, the line wasnt too long and I waited about 10-15 mins although the line grew so much when I was inside the security guards are super nice and handed out umbrellas & water bottles while we waited the inside was organized by brands and products. they don't let a lot of people in at once which is great bc it didn't feel too crowded they had an AI skin analysis device which I wanted to try but wasnt sure if a worker had to do it for me and after waiting a bit for someone to come, I decided to leave it but v cool that they have it! I'm excited to shop for korean skincare and makeup products here once the lines start to die down a bit (hopefully) read more

I was so excited to visit the new Olive Young location at Century City for the grand opening. I've always wanted a store closer to me so I wouldn't have to drive far for the skincare products I love. Overall, I had a great experience with almost every employee I interacted with. The staff was welcoming, patient, and genuinely kind. They are the reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of fewer. Unfortunately, one employee, Blake, made my first visit disappointing. At first, Blake was helpful. I was looking for a skincare brand that has worked well for my skin, and Blake tried to help me find similar ingredients. I appreciated that. The experience changed when my husband and I went to the Skin Analysis Test. A kind employee asked if we wanted to try it, and we said yes. She walked away to grab something for the test, so we waited where she had left us. While we were waiting, Blake approached us with an iPad and explained that there was actually a waiting list with two people ahead of us. We genuinely didn't know there was a list, so we apologized and gave our names and phone numbers to be added. When the employee returned to begin helping us, we explained that we had just learned there were people ahead of us. She looked to Blake for confirmation, and Blake responded, "Yeah, there's two people ahead of you. I've already told you," with what came across as a forced smile and a condescending tone towards us. We completely understood the situation and were never upset about waiting. We simply didn't know there was a sign-up process. The interaction made us feel like we had done something wrong when it was just an honest misunderstanding. ( it's our first time in the store and no one said from the start there's a line) After waiting about 10-20 minutes, another employee completed our skin analysis. She was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and helped me choose products that better suited my skin. She turned the experience around, and I'm very grateful for her kindness. Later, we went to check out with over $200 worth of products. Blake was one of three cashiers. We made eye contact and smiled, but the interaction again felt uncomfortable. Blake was helping a client check out and looked at us then ask a question to the client to talk to her longer because Blake showed no interest of helping us. Blake saw the other two cashiers still checking out people and continued to keep the client he just helped to not help us. Once that client left I step up to his check out and Blake told us, "You need to wait. We'll call you," then stepped away to do paperwork behind the counter while there was still a long line of customers waiting. Another cashier ended up helping us instead, and she was wonderful. Throughout both interactions, I felt like Blake was trying to avoid helping us or simply didn't want to interact with us. I understand that retail can be stressful, especially during a grand opening, and everyone has difficult days. I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt. However, as a customer who spent over $200 and was genuinely excited to shop here for the first time, I left feeling hurt and unwelcome. This review isn't meant to get anyone in trouble. I simply hope management can speak with Blake about how their communication and body language can affect customers. The rest of the team created such a warm, positive atmosphere, and I hope every customer gets that same experience. I'll definitely continue shopping at Olive Young because I love the products and the rest of the staff was amazing. Thank you to everyone else who made us feel welcome. If you live closer to the Pasadena location save your gas and go there. Front security guard is rude and unwelcoming. Store is too small and product gets unorganized when store is too cramped which is majority of the day. Customer service forgot to mention that you can only return at locations that you purchased from. overall store is a mess. read more

If you're coming in to get your skin analysis, prepare to wait a ridiculous amount of time. We were told it would take 40 min wait. That's long but ok. It actually ended up being an HOUR AND A HALF WAIT. Some people cut the wait line and the staff helped them anyway. One girl was with the employee for 40 minutes. They need to set time limits and stick to the waitlist. What a horrible and unprofessional experience! read more

Buyer Beware - Oliver Young (New Southern California Locations) I wanted to share my recent experience with Oliver Young to make other shoppers aware of what appears to be a newly implemented return/ exchange policy. I recently purchased an item at the Century City location. Later, I completed a refund and repurchased the item at the Pasadena location. After realizing my daughter and I purchased the same item, I attempted to return the duplicate to the Century City store, which is the closest location to me. To my surprise, I was told that returns and exchanges must now be completed at the same store where the purchase was made. I asked to speak with the manager, who explained that this policy had only gone into effect a few days earlier. When I asked how customers were supposed to know about such a significant policy change, he said customers were expected to read the sign posted at the register. My concern was simple: if I made my purchase before this new policy was implemented, how would I have known it had changed? I asked whether customers had been notified by email or through any other communication. The manager acknowledged that they had not. The manager was polite and professional, so this is not a criticism of him or the staff. My concern is with a policy that appears to have changed without notifying customers. Since Oliver Young is a new retailer in Southern California, I think shoppers should be aware that store policies may change without advance notice. Unless you happen to shop there frequently and read the posted signs each time you visit, you may not be aware of changes that could affect your purchase or return. I hope the company considers communicating policy updates more proactively to avoid situations like this in the future. read more
