I went with my mom and sister today and I feel bad because i usually have a very good experience and all of the employees have always treated me very well...but one lady in particular (I wish I knew her name) was just straight up so rude to my sister when she bumped her thumb nail while it was drying and asked if we could repaint it. I feel like this is a normal occurrence when getting nails done and mistakes happen. I've asked this before at so many salons and I'm never questioned. ITS A MISTAKE! The lady was so rude and yelled at my sister and the whole salon could hear, and she said "this is why you get gel and I told you to be careful" and was being very mean and almost didn't even fix it until we asked a second time and she finally fixed it. She kept trying to say it was our fault for not getting gel. Everyone in the salon looked shocked when she was trying to fight us on ONE nail being smeared and asking for a simple fix. read more

Worst experience of my life! I got an acrylic overlay and the guy messed up my nails so bad that I asked someone in the shop to fix them and he threw a fit. I talked to the manager and showed him the crooked acrylics and nail polish all over my hands and broken skin and he told me he couldn't give me a refund because he didn't see a problem. The manager then began fighting with me about not being able to give everyone who wasn't satisfied with their nails a refund and that I was being dramatic. I just walked out with my awful nails and cried in the car. I will never go back to this place and I regret going there in the first place because now I need to pay to get these off. read more

TERRIBLE! I saw that someone posted that it was the quickest manicure and not in a good way! Agree wholeheartedly with that observation. Brought in a party of 5 on the day before News Years eve. Should have been a red flag that we were able to walk right in. We were visiting the area and are from Chicago. Our service list consisted of regular manicure, acrylics and gel manicures. I got the regular manicure and the tech rushed through it without even a smile or an attempt of a small talk conversation in 15 minutes or less. She didn't even cut or file the nails evenly, leaving my pinky finger much longer that the rest. As a treat, I paid for the entire group and later found out that the other techs had also rushed through the gel manicures to the point of insisting that the girls remove their nails from the curing machine before the allotted curing time had been established. These girls have their nails done all the time. They know the drill. As a result, we got into the car and they had smudging. All if this is to say nothing or the sour personalities that work there. This is a customer service based business. At least if they were good at what they do, you might be able to over look this aspect. This place is not even good as a last resort. In that event, save your money and do them yourself. You'll get a better result. read more

Don't waste your time or money! I went in with bare nails to get a full acrylic set with gel polish. Should've been $31 according to their own menu online and in the store.When I went up to pay, I asked for the total first to avoid this very situation. The guy told me it was $36 ($5 extra for the gel...its on the menu so ok fine) then when I gave him the 20% off coupon that came in the mail, all of the sudden my total was $45. I asked about it and he said it was $14 MORE FOR GEL?! Which is a lie and makes no sense. The dip powder isn't even that expensive! All of this on top of the fact that the nails themselves are crooked and all different shapes. Absolutely will not go back or let anyone I care about go to them. Wanted to take my daughter for her first mani pedi so chose Olio because I knew they had kid chairs. Well BIG MISTAKE! Upon entering the gentleman asked us "Can I help you?!" I replied that my daughter would like her nails painted. He stared blankly at us, looked down at my two year old, rolled his eyes and without ANY expression pointed to the wall and said "pick a color." We spent a couple minutes finding the perfect sparkly color and went to sit. While waiting for the nail tech to come assist us m, my daughter became nervous Sitting alone so I told her I would sit with her and she could be on my lap. When she got up I turned the chair and my purse hit the counter where the nail polish was causing It to shatter on the floor. The same man who we were "greeted" at the door by promptly stood staring "is it broken?!" I said "yes, so sorry!" then he continued to stare. I said "do you have something to clean it up with?!" Then he looked at my daughter and said "you can't hold that!" I said "I was the one who knocked it off the counter and accidents happen!" But instead of helping he just continued to stand in our way and stare. At this point I'd had enough. I told him we were done and leaving. He's been rude since we set foot in the door and I'm not going to have my child's first experience be a poor one! He said he "didn't say anything rude" but I had enough and promptly gathered my items and children and left! I have a couple gift cards but REFUSE to go back ever! It's one thing to be a little testy with me but to correct my child or make her feel unwanted or inconvenient is another and I won't stand for it! I used to go to olio every 2-3 weeks. I took my 14-yr old to Olio Nails today for acrylic nails and pedicure. I had a pedicure as well. The salon is bright, clean and well ventilated. I wasn't overwhelmed with strong polish/chemical odors that I've experienced in many other salons. We did not have an appointment, but after signing in, we both were taken back to pedicure chairs right away. The massage chairs were so relaxing! The two technicians that worked on us were personable and very professional. Our pedicures were fabulous, and my daughter's nails are beautiful!! We have decided that we have found our go-to nail salon! Definitely worth the drive up from New Pal!! read more

Local shop. Easy to get in and out off. Decor is pleasant. That's where the goodness ends. I've been coming since they opened and on a recent visit, the rudeness and unpleasantness of the employees made me remove my feet from the soak bucket and leave. This may boil down to culture, but this time is supposed to be relaxing not stressful. It starts from pick your color, sit down there, put your polish over here..etc. no please, thank you's, how may I help you. On top of that you have to stay alert and direct to ensure you get a decent manicure and pedicure. Visited olio nails for a pedicure and gel manicure. In the moment I ended up getting the deluxe pedicure. It was very nice and worth the little extra. Appreciated that the salon is clean and big. They also use a weird cheese grater thing for calluses which was both odd and awesome. The bad came when the mani started. I asked whether they can add some tips under the gel because I had 3 broken nails. Before I could do or say anything else I was whisked away to the acrylic desk. I asked why acrylics and they laughed and said this is how it's done. I didn't think salons even did acrylics anymore. Anyway, the next thing I know she's out of tips and acrylic on my nails and there was no going back. She never soaked my hands, never worked on my cuticles, no lotion - nothing. It was rushed, sloppy and unprofessional. My hands looks terrible. What's worse is that I continually asked her to make sure the nails were straight and she laughed each time I asked. I went in with a reservation with 4 others. We waited for pedicure to begin for over 30 minutes (and never once saw staff sterilize foot basins-ewww). Everyone in our party paid and my daughter signed my receipt for my pedi/gel mani. I was charged $101.00 for my nails. In emails to Huy Nguyen-he told me I needed to provide receipts from others in my group because I was charged for 3 people. I confirmed with others and gave him amounts they paid and was told without receipts I was paying for 3 people! I am disputing charges with my card company!! No one spoke English well enough to call me! While I was in salon for 1.5 hrs I saw 2 people walk out after soaking in foot basin (never rinsed out-mind you) for over 30 minutes. Extremely disappointing experience. I would NOT recommend going here. I gave them a try bc I tan next door and decided to try powder for the first time. After less then a week my nails were lifting and 2 completely just popped off easily. On the ones that popped off I had fungus on my nail! Yikes! Never had that ever before. I was tanning next door and decided to stop in and show them. I didn't even have time to have my nails fixed or want anything but felt they should see how bad my nails wore and that I had fungus as a result. They were nice & encouraged me to come back & they would make it right. I ended up having fungus on at least 5 nails. I did like the girl that did my nails so I decided to give them another chance. I went back and decided to do gel bc I know that works for me. They didn't charge me and I left satisfied. Literally 2 days later. 2 days! My pointer finger completely peeled off. I don't understand how gel would just peel off. As the days went on all my nails started peeling off and lifting. Gel isn't supposed to do that, especially within days!! . It was literally the worst gel manicure I ever had the way it came off. Not sure if they are using old/generic materials or what exactly but that ruined my nails. I was really disappointed in my last experience at Olio nails. The man I got had a cold and so he kept coughing and sneezing when he was trying to do my nails. I got them done on Friday and it's now Tuesday and the gel has chipped on all of them. I have not done anything to make them chip. I've never had a gel manicure that has lasted for that short of a time. I was glad to see that they have chairs for a little girls for pedicures now. The last time I was in there with my daughter yelled at her for not sitting correctly. She was four. With all of the nail places around here I can't say that I'll be back. read more

this is the worst nail salon i have ever been to. i still have hangnails around my nails and there is nail polish all over my skin. extremely upset with the workers here as well. when i try to explain what i wanted they would ignore me and disregard what i want and treat me with disrespect. they also made my younger sister bleed while doing her nails and left the blood to dry up and never remove it. i am never coming here again and i advise who ever is reading this to not come here either. service was terrible and over all of my nails are terrible too. i would rather have my 3 year old sister do my nails them come here again. read more

Definitely give this place 5 stars!! Walked right in on a Saturday at noon for a mani/pedi. The guy (unsure his name, but he was an older guy) was super friendly and tried finding a better match for my polish as I wanted something glittery. He was really great on my pedicure. Often times other salons have scrubbed too hard and made a spot sore. He did it perfectly!! He kept checking in to make sure everything was ok. Water was ok, towel wasn't too hot, ect ect. And the leg massage was probably the best I've ever had! Super relaxing!!! A friend recommended this place to me and I'll definitely be going back frequently!!! I've never been treated so awfully at the nail place before. Extremely rude and arrogant. My nail tech switched halfway through and didn't communicate at all so he finished making them square and long the new lady messed up the whole length and shape. I am never going back!! Horrible customer service. Lady nicked me while trimming cuticles as my toe wouldn't stop bleeding. She nor the owner apologized. When I asked where to dispose of the bloodied flip flop they told me that alcohol was it's sanitizer.?!? Charged full price without a simple apology. So first let me start out by saying this would be lower if they didn't give very good manicures and pedicures. They are literally the least friendly nail shop I have ever been too and I have been to quit a few. Every time I walk in it's like I'm bothering them. I literally feel like they want to say get out. I have thought many times maybe it's because they are busy or because they are short staffed but I have gone three different times and been serviced by three different people and they have all been rude, very unfriendly and just all out annoyed by my presence. So you are asking yourself why do you go back. Well I go back because my nails look excellent and it's right down the street from my house. Will I continue to go back I don't know we will see but I know one thing is for sure I don't suspect they will change there attitude. One star for service five stars for nails. I have been going to Olio Nails ever since I moved here, two years ago. They are amazing & I have always been happy with the quality of my nails! Frankly, I like to go someplace where I can relax & just chill, read, etc. I don't need a conversation to have an excellent nail experience.
